Lost season 5 Video, Music by The Fray

Thursday night I was watching Grey's Anatomy and all of a sudden during the commercial time I see familiar people and wonderful music. Its then hits me that it is a music video commercial for my favorite show Lost with music by one of my favorite groups The Fray. It was fitting that it was during an episode of Grey's Anatomy, since the music video that The Frey made for that series greatly helped their fame. I am so glad that I was watching this live and recorded The Office and 30 Rock instead of the other way around or I might have fast forwarded right through it.

The name of the song by The Fray is "You Found Me". For anybody that hasn't seen the Lost video yet or would like to see it again:

The Fray's music goes so well with television trailers.

Between the Poster for Lost and now this Lost video/commercial, I really don't know how I'm going to wait two more months for Lost to begin again. At Least the Lost Season 4 DVD is coming out December 9, 2008. Maybe watching the excellent Season 4 of Lost again will be enough to hold me over.

Life on Mars Music episode 7

Great music this episode. Anytime they replay Life on Mars by David Bowie I'm in Heaven. After the pilot episode, I went immediately to iTunes and purchased the Life on Mars song and I still can't get enough of it.

Here are the songs played in last nights episode 7 "The Man who Sold the World":

1. Everything I Own - Bread

2. Reeling in the Years - Steely Dan

3. Life on Mars - David Bowie

4. Spaceman - Harry Nilsson

Sam Tyler would be right at home on Lost with a father like that. Talk about daddy issues. It appears that Life on Mars will not be back until January 28th. When it does come back, it will be on Wednesday nights at 10pm ET, immediately after Lost. This should help Life on Mars immensely since fans of Lost are much more apt to stick around and become fans on Life on Mars than Grey's Anatomy watchers were.

Lost Season 5 Poster Wow!

I think this is the best poster for any season of Lost that I have seen. I love the way that the Lost survivors still on the Island and those that got off the Island are separated. And everybody looks great. This is the first picture seeing any of the survivors dressed up. Ben really cleans up well and look how high Kate's heals are.

I really can't wait for the Lost season premiere now. January 21st can't come soon enough.

Online time essential to teen's social skills developement, new study shows

In a brand new study commissioned by the MacArthur Foundation, the findings show that America's teens are developing important social and technical skills online. The social skills that today's teens are learning are the same type that adults learned when they were young, but without technology. Because of this, most parents do not understand or value the importance of online socialization.

This study is the most extensive U.S. study on teens and their use of digital media. It was financed by the MacArthur Foundation's $50 million initiative to explore how digital media is changing how young people learn, play, socialize and participate in civic life.

The most significant findings were:

1. Youths and Adults view the value of online activity differently, with adults not understanding its social value or participating nearly as much.

2. To socialize online, youths learn how to navigate complex social and technical worlds.

3. The Internet allows youths to interact with their peers and to receive feedback and learn from each other.

4. Teens are not taking advantage of many of the wonderful learning opportunities online.

Some of the researchers' conclusions include:

1. The education community is going to need to take into account that learning is becoming increasingly peer-based and networked.

2. With youth learning from their peers, ideas about who has expertise and authority may need to be rethought.

3. The Internet provides teens a way to direct their own learning through connections with others and finding information.

Twilight Movie Premiere

Premiere Of Summit Entertainment's "Twilight" - Arrivals

Twilight, one of the most eagerly awaited movies ever from teenage girls everywhere, had its worldwide premiere Monday night November 17th in Los Angeles. The screams and cheers for the cast of Twilight, especially for Robert Pattinson playing the lead role of vampire Edward Cullen, were reminiscent of those for The Beatles.

None of the leads of Twilight were big stars before they were cast in the Twilight movie. Robert Pattinson was best known as playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Kristen Stewart, cast in the lead role of Bella, is best known for Into the Wild and for playing Jodie Foster's daughter in Panic Room. All of the screaming and adoration is more than a bit overwhelming to these two.

The movie open's nationwide on November 21st, Thursday night at midnight. In many areas, showings for the first night are already sold out. Many huge stars used their influence to get tickets for their teens for the Los Angeles Premiere.

When the Harry Potter series ended, I wondered if there would be another series that would pick up where it left off. A series that would cause a reading fervor in kids and one that whole families could enjoy. Twilight did it half way. It definitely caused just as much of a fervor. However it is only among females. Girls and moms are bonding over Twilight. However, this time the males are left out of the family reading bond. However, I think the males might just enjoy the Twilight movie.
