Allison had a couple of stuffed dogs in the living room yesterday. It didn’t take long for Roxy to get right in line with them. It was like she was hanging with her friends.

Or was she showing her girl how much cuter she is then a couple of dumb stuffed dogs? I can’t help but wonder what she was thinking.

I understand that the Obama family is considering purchasing a Labradoodle (a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Standard Poodle) puppy as a family companion. In his speech Barack Obama assured his daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, that they “have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.”

This is so exciting! Three of our friends have Labradooles and just totally adore them. I have seen how well tempered they are, intelligent, loving and how great they are with children. To me, a Labradoodle would be a great choice for any family. Even the “First Family” and what great exposure for the breed. Obama’s Labradoodle! It has a nice ring to it!  Now that a Labradoodle is it’s own registered breed, other families are seeing what we and our friends have seen for a long time now. These dogs make a wonderful addition to any family.

Roxy has a boo boo on her nose. I have no idea how she got it.

image

BUT, I can tell you it’s not keeping her from doing her job of guarding the oven while the pumpkin pies bake!

Yesterday was Dogs Rule Day and I missed it so I am celebrating Roxy today. Not only will I tell her how much I love her but I plan on taking her for a nice long walk this morning and then pampering her with a Vanilla scented doggie bath and few extra treats.

Happy Dogs Rule Day my beautiful Princess ! Even if it is one day late.

Looking pretty

With the holidays coming I am starting to pick up some gifts as I see them. It’s nice to be able to cross a few names off my list before that holiday crunch time! I have a few people in my family that I not only buy for them but for their pets too. Every year I sign the cards from Roxy. It’s always so much fun. My sister in law has the sweetest little Pomeranian named Daisy. She loves to take her every where she goes. So, when I saw how nice the dog carriers are on Poochie Heaven, there was no question that was the right gift for Daisy this year. Poochie Heaven has become my favorite place to shop for Roxy and any fun dog Christmas gifts I might need. They by far have the best prices and I am always surprised at their variety. Just look at this super cute Pink Paisley carrier I picked out for Daisy.
Don’t just take my word for it, check them out yourself. http://www.Poochieheaven.com

My husband and I watched a movie late last night. Roxy, as always laid in the chair with me and snored through most of the movie.

This was my view as she slept on my shoulder. Have you seen a sweeter puppy dog face? I don’t think so.

image

image

Then there was my husbands view from the couch!

image

I had no idea her rear was hanging off of the couch until my husband showed me this photo.
How she is happy to sleep like this for hours, I don’t know? I guess she doesn’t mind her butt hanging off of the chair as long as her head and most of her body is snuggled on mom.

This is how I found Roxy this morning.

image

image

Not sure if she was hiding to stay put on the couch or if she was really in that deep of a sleep but she didn’t move. Not an inch, not even when I took the pictures.

It’s no surprise that my pampered girl has sensitive dog itchy skin. We have tried every kind of dog shampoo I could find. Most make her skin itch more, so we have found that a good high moisture shampoo works the best. In fact, it turns out that my girl is pretty picky about a lot of dog products! No wonder she considers herself royalty. Ha ha ha.. Thank goodness for the internet. I was able to find the best wholesale dog products at http://www.happytailsspa.com. Happy Tails not only has one of the cutesiest designs for dog products but their web site is easy to use and very well put together. Making my shopping experience fun and a pleasure to do. I was so impressed by their wide range of products, from everyday to extreme fun and special pampering dog spa items. Can you guess which I am in to? Yeah, my royal princess is not stranger to being pampered.

Some how Roxy manages to sleep in the chair with Allison while she works on her spelling words. I guess our hound can sleep anywhere anytime.

This is how I found them an hour later,

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Today was the first day of fourth grade for our daughter Allison. Roxy was by her side this morning as she got ready and then watched her out the door as she walked to the bus stop.

When Roxy was a puppy I use to dress her in the pretties pink outfits. I could always count on her to draw a lot of attention when were out in public. Lots of aww’s and she is sooo cute.
These days I am having a heck of a time finding anything I like to fit her. Most stores stop at size medium when it comes to anything cute or trendy. Now, my Princess may be close to the grown but she is no size medium. So, being the hip, cool dog mom that I am, I turned to the internet for help and found Poochie Heaven. They have a really nice selection of Big Dog Clothing everything from pretty sun dresses to football jerseys. I am so excited! My girl is going to be back in pretty out fits and feeling like the royalty she is in no time.

Poochie Heaven sells everything you need to really pamper your pooch. They even sell a wide verity of large dog beds. Which is also a problem when I shop our local pet supply. I have been eyeballing this one called Cody Dog Bed, for dogs who spend more time on your sofa than you do. Ha ha ha… now that sounds like my Roxy!

I am so in love with Poochie Heaven, even their website is precious enough for my Princess of a basset hound. Better yet is their commitment to their customers. At Poochie Heaven you will always find that they stand behind all of their products with a money back guarantee, privacy policy, and secure online environment for you to shop. Visit http://www.poochieheaven.com to learn more and to shop for dogs of all sizes.

Not much going on around our house lately. Lots of hot, sticky and rainy days. Not that Roxy minds hanging around inside the house and napping the day away.

I can remember the day we first brought Roxy home. She was so little !  We were so excited but it also felt like such a big responsibility. Puppies can be a lot like babies in that way. We had so many question and concerns about everything, from puppy care to dog health. I always had my parents to worry about those issues when it came to the previous dogs in my life. This time we were the parents.

The first thing i did was hit the net for all the puppy information I could find, on the best products and the best nutrition. I even took Roxy to a puppy class. House training was a huge concern. As you can see from Roxy’s puppy photo, I used a crate to help house train her. It work beautifully. I highly recommend getting one. It helped and she loved it, it was like a little place to call her own.

Bring home a puppy can be a wonderful experience and a great addition to your family. Just make sure you do your home work on how to take care of her. You can start where I did. http://www.dogchannel.com. The Dog Channel.com is a website that offers the best offers and tips when it comes your dogs health, dog grooming, senior dog care, dog cancer, even flea & tick prevention. Trust me, it’s the place to start.

Sorry that Roxy and I have been so M.I.A. lately! Between family issues and computer issues when haven’t had the chance to do much blogging here. BUT all of that is about to change as I am working on some great posts and possibly a new look here at One Foxy Hound.

Ever since I have known my husband he has been really into shooting and other military type past times. He loves to spend a lot of his Saturday mornings at a near by shooting range and when her can’t get out he spends a lot of time searching the net for military accessories and clothing websites. In fact as much as I love shopping online and surfing for new things for the house, he loves shopping for guns and accessories. His most recent find that brought the UPS truck to our house was 5.11 Tactical Pants from his favorite web site, La Police Gear.com and he couldn’t be happier.

Do you know what this Friday is ???? June 20th ?

Pet Sitters International estimates that as many as 10,000 companies in the United States and Canada opened their doors to employees’ dogs during the annual event held last June.

That’s all Roxy needs to hear and she is grabbing her purse and ready to go!
