East Carolina Takes on the University of Alabama-Birmingham

The ECU Pirates Take On The UAB Blazers

The East Carolina Pirates have lost twenty starters this season to suspensions and injuries. The team that started out the season 3-0 and ranked #15 in the country has been decimated and is not the same team now on the field.

Head football coach Skip Holtz on so many injuries this season:
"I've never really seen anything like this before. In the last two years we lost one or two starters once the season began. This year we lost Dominique Lindsay and Brandon Setzer before the season started and we've lost starters in the off-season before. But when you look at the injuries that we've suffered during this season, I don't know if I've ever been through anything quite like this one. But I'm not complaining about it and I'm not trying to wave a white flag. This is what we have and the hand we're dealt." - Coach Skip Holtz
Yes, injuries are a part of football. But twenty starters going down is ridiculous. However, if the Pirates win today, they'll win the East division and play in the CUSA championship game.

GO PIRATES!

Coach Bobby Bowden on Weight Loss

Several years ago, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden gave the following weight loss advice: "Before the beginning of every football season, in order to lose weight, I had to cut out the foods that I like - bread, the pasta, the sugar, sweets, potatoes and white-floured foods, and I didn’t have any trouble losing weight."

How about you? What have you found to work best for you?

"The World's Simplest Cure For Cancer"

Several years ago, my father died of cancer, after being on oxygen for eight long years. Since he lived near the Raleigh-Durham area, he went to the best doctors. He did exactly as they told him to do, including many new and experimental drugs. All to no avail.

Well, I have a friend, Mrs. Gravely, who turned her health around, by changing her diet and adding concentrated nutrition to her daily routine. I tried to get my father to do likewise, but he wasn't much interested. He only wanted to do what his doctors told him to do.

Even before his death, I was studying about health and nutrition. After he died, I began to read about cancer in particular. This lead me to the works of Dr. Max Gerson, M.D. The above short video covers his life's work, as well as several others.
