Had the Impulse to Delete Your Blog? Relax, it's Normal

I'm snickering at myself on this one. Ha ha ha. No, that's not enough still, Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Talk about teaching the blogging here. I'm not sure if you're ready for this topic, that or I'm the one not quite as sure. Probably, it's the latter. Ha ha!

Seriously, ok, now we take it seriously,

Even though my email had yet to be flooded with problems subjecting this matter, I know and can completely empathize on bloggers who had this sudden overwhelming impulse to go to your blog's settings and click on the delete button. Are you among them, maybe, maybe not. But one thing's for sure, there will come a time (mark my word) where you'll be having this kind of experience.

What's really happening in here?

Let's tackle the issue first. Why oh why do we bloggers (or most of us at least) suffer this dillema? It has to come from something obviously. Whether it's because your major traffic description would be counting to less than 20 readers per week or you just feel like 'what the heck have I been doing all this time' or just that really really sick feeling that you being a blogger is taking too much of your life (err time), I know and believe that one major reason why you've decided to suddenly let go of your blog is because of this thing... disappointment.

For those who does and doesn't have this problem

My first suggestion would be, like what I've already said, relax, chill, calm down a little bit and go restrain yourself or something. Even if does seem like your blogging career is falling to a downward spiral (or if it's leading to nothing since you haven't been that much up to be down) doesn't mean that you have to go on and doom your blog forever to eradication.

I have many things to say about this and many things that I don't want to say and will say eventually (since I'm no good at not saying what I want to say). One of those things is the obvious, you can't remain as a blogger if you don't have a blog. Obvious. If you keep having these impulses, try to be rational and keep saying this line in your head

'I love being a blogger and I'll need a blog to be one.'

But of course if the context of that line is of no truth to you, that, I can't help no more. Blogging is fun! Try to remind yourself of that and about this bad impulses, just relax, it's normal, just don't try to do anything rash before you go pressing any button with a 'd' on it.

Bloggers with More than 2 Blogs, Can I Ask You Something?

Get more blogging tips. Subscribe to this blog today or go get the FREE blogging ebook!

I've always been fascinated (troubled too) with this. Browsing through blogcatalog is like 2nd nature to me. Every single time I go online, I never miss a visit to blogcatalog, checking my groups, my own inbox, reviews and stuffs. Also adding friends.

And while I'm at adding friends, I can't seem to understand how could anyone manage to control two or more blogs all at the same time, granted that he or she is the only one running the blogs.

That is the question that has been on my head since the beggining of time.

How do you guys manage running more than one blog?

You see, being a blogger who focuses at the very topic of blogging, I've been through a lot studying, researching, reviewing, reading and reading some more just to figure out the depths of 'how to blog'. With this blog, my only blog, it already takes so much of my time that I can't even bare to think how much more if I have two or three or four or a hundred. That'll be my own version of Dawn of the Dead; Multiblogging.

For me to understand the answer to this, I need you guys who owns more than one blog and for the love of God tell me how do you pull it off without killing a blog on the process.

Again, it both fascinates and troubles me at some point. I would sure love to hear your thoughts as to how it is done, espeacially for a blogger like me who specializes on blogging itself. I'd love to learn about it.

Leave me your answers I beg you :)

Bloggers Spread the Comment Love!

Get more blogging tips. Subscribe to this blog today or go get the FREE blogging ebook!

You want comments on your blog? Well go on tell me and I'll leave some! I don't really know what hit me but I'm just so fond of leaving comments to goody nice blogs out there. Really, it's a lot of fun. I kept reading and learning and just stumbling to something good once in a while (or most of the times).

I really think it's important for us bloggers to Spread the Comment Love

You know, everyone wants comments in their blogs (lots and lots of comments if possible) but sometimes, we do tend to get too selfish and stop the flow of good comments in the blogosphere. Most bloggers just want people to comment on them but forget commenting on others themselves. And that's really sad right?

Commenting is Important

  • It's a form of constructive criticism. Even if you're not going for the positive comment, at least you do a little help to make bloggers in the blogophere a bunch of better people (Better Blogging for Bloggers!). Besides, you can't learn if you don't let other people look over your work. Commenting is the basic form of criticizing.
  • It's a way of connecting to other bloggers. All this time that I've been a blogger, I realized how important it really is to build that connection among other bloggers. No man is an island. Much more no blogger is an island too. We need somebody to lean on once in a while and nothing would be better than a bunch of nice cozy blogger friends from an array of niches. From the simplest link building to blog partnerships, you'll never know what doors commenting can open.
  • It's a form of friendly advertising. Ever get tired of those oafs doing all sorts of blatant shameless promotion? I know, once in while we get the tendency to do so too. But with commenting, blog advertising just comes with it in a much more subtle and proper manner. When you comment, it's not just you that's being recognized as the commentator, it's you and your blog too. As long as you leave your blog url of course. Make sure you do.
  • It's a form of learning while having fun. What I do love most about commenting is getting to browse though all sorts of blogs in all sorts of niches. I get to learn many things just in an hour of reading and commenting and it gives me extra credit for the time I've spent. I just didn't use it for myself, I used it too in benefit of other blogs and bloggers like me. Now that's comment love don't you think?

I'd like to encourage each and everyone of you. It wouldn't do anything bad at all (unless you end up spamming which I know (or hope) that you won't. Try it really. Just leave a comment mark on my blog and I'd sure love to reciprocate and do the same thing :)

Always remember, you can't do anything wrong with spreading the comment love once in a while.

I've always thought that everyone should do something about the Planet. Yeah I know, at this time, this message have drastically turned into a cliche. Something that we got so tired of hearing about, that for some people, it's like oh-no-here-we-go-again or like give-me-a-break-will-you-Liane.

I'd like to be as brief as possible (fearing that a longer discussion would lead to you clicking on that small x button on the top of the screen). But hey, see this badge below on my sidebar? It's something that I've stumbled upon while browsing through blogs. I was a bit curious (first because I like the badge, second because I'm an environmentalist by heart). Just clicking on the badge will take you to the 350 Brighter Planet challenge.

Here's a little something from that site:
350 Brighter Planet Challnge
at http://350.brighterplanet.com/

What is Brighter Planet’s 350 Challenge, exactly?

The 350 Challenge is a small way to show your support to fight climate change. The more bloggers that get our badge, the better. Thousands of readers will know that the climate movement is spreading far beyond the typical “environmental” realm and into the norm.

Without hesitation, I joined and I even got a certificate from them!

So c'mon you guys, be a part of it. It wouldn't hurt you a bit and it would take just about 5 minutes (or even less) of your precious time. Plus, in celebration of the goody good holidays, Brighter Planet gave me an opportunity to give 25 gifts to 25 people. It's a first come first serve basis. If you want to be part of that lucky 25, click on below:

Even bloggers can fight climate change right? Let's go and save the Planet!

Quick Tip for Going on an All Out Entrecard Campaign

Get more blogging tips. Subscribe to this blog today or go get the FREE blogging ebook!

One thing I do when I have nothing to do (I admit that sentence sounds both funny and wrong) is that I check on my Entrecard and if I realized that I've already accumulated a lot of EC Credits, I go for an all out campaign, that is, I go full force advertisement on Entrecard.

Yeah, it's kinda easy and fun. That's a no-brainer.

You just go at your dashboard, click the campaign and presto, feel free to advertise at any blog you want. But hey, I just wanna share a quick tip for you that may well at least let you maximize your Entrecard Credit usage.

ON EC PRICES

Again, you don't need to be a genius to look at cheaper EC costs when it comes to campaigning. The first thing you want to do is to check the 2ec, 4ec, 8ec, category to look for the availability of blogs who can advertise you for a very cheap ec cost. (I think I'm already sounding like a finance geek, anyway...). That's a basic step.

ON SELECTING BLOGS TO ADVERTISE

For some very critical blogger, they usually check on

each blog and then decide if they do want to click on the advertise button. But there's whole lot of easy way to doing this without wasting precious time.

Just go look at the advert picture of the blog (how do you call those things again, EntreCard?). Analyze the picture, it's a good way of telling which blogs are decent without actually visiting them.

I know, don't judge a book by it's cover. But here in the net, the cliche doesn't usually apply.
Decent blogs usually have decent pictures to go with them. It only goes to show that the blogger have excercised either a great deal of money or a great deal of effort into coming up with their advert pic. And when they do, it tells that they too give much importance to their blog. Look at the picture in this post for an example.

Reminder though, what I've told you might be true in most cases but we shouldn't be that judgmental right? My point just applies if you're on a quick campaign at Entrecard. Hope it will serve helpful.

NOT Being a Personal Blogger is like Doom

Get more blogging tips. Subscribe to this blog today or go get the FREE blogging ebook!

You know the famous line that if you don't know adsense and stuff, you're living under a rock? At least that's what the dot com mogul, John Chow said. In my case, I've just discovered that not having a personal blog is like dooming yourself to the ends of the blogosphere. And I'm dead serious.

My Story so Far

Here it goes, the big flash news that might get your eyes to roll 360 degrees within a nanosecond record is that I've just joined multiply. Boohoo, at last I. Am. Not. That. Ignorant. Anymore. Was that so hard to say?

Blogging is like all this crazy, you get to manage posts, hectic scheds, adverts, roam around the blogosphere, comment here and there, and read posts in between the surfings. Where did the good times go? That's what I've asked myself. I was just about to stab someone (that's not exaggeration) if this mind-bludgeoning activity persists to continue, and so, I just decided to take a little bit of tiny-winy break before I cut myself loose.

Blogging was all this and that. Sure, I teach about blogging, learn some more and teach again, but one big thing I miss is the real intense pleasure of actually doing it without any *why am I doing this* critical thinking. I joined multiply and figured out that it's the best way to try blogging from a whole different perspective. Personal blogging that is.

Needless to say, it took me to new blogging heights

Most bloggers I know take blogging as a job, much like a marketeer would do. Promoting and keep people coming. The awful part is just taking for granted how blogging really is at its very essence. And I think (from my personal blogging experience) that the essence of blogging is just sharing your thoughts to the world. Thoughts that would somehow, in one way or another, concern them.

My advice, is to give your(blogging)self a break

If you feel that blogging has become more of a must-do rather than a want-to-do, then try converting your blogging into the personal blogging area for a while. Just expose yourself into your thoughts and pour it out. It's a total release of all the stress (mostly from thoughts) that have been lingering inside you.

For those who have a personal blog, you agree with me in this right?
