How to Target Market And Meet Customers' Needs

To learn about the people you are trying to do business with, consider using a combination of both primary and secondary market research. This will give you a clear understanding of who they are and what they want. The more you know about your target market, the better you’ll be able to target your information, style, newsletter plan and marketing messages.

Primary Market Research

Primary research involves collecting original data about the members of your target market. In other words it is data you collect directly from them. You may have done this already when choosing your topic. But if not, I strongly urge you to do it now. In the end you’ll be rewarded for your time.

Ways to collect primary market research data:

1. Ask Family and Friends – A great place to start is getting feedback from your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, ect... and use their suggestions to make initial improvements and adjustments.

2. Use The Forums – Post messages to forums frequented by your targeted market. Explain what your reason for asking the questions is and encourage honest feedback. If you have too many questions to ask, post a message inviting members to complete a short survey in exchange for a quality gift such as a free ebook, a software, a report, etc... .

3. Conduct a Survey – Get to Know your targeted market. For example: Is your targeted market children, men, senior people, or women? Are they casual style, office style, sports style, etc...? What your targeted market is looking for? How muche is willing to pay, ect...? Learning about your targeted audience is the key factor to success in any type of business.

A good way to find people who are willing to complete your survey is to purchase newsletter advertising. To improve your response rate, offer something for their time; it could be a free report, an eBook, a chance to win a contest or any other thing.

If you have an email list, you can use your own email system or any other method to ask people to complete your survey. Also you can use online survey tools to make it available on a web page or through email. Here's a service you can use to conduct your survey for free visit http://www.tigersurvey.com/ or you can do a search in google or in any other search engine you want.

4. Run a Focus Group – Get a small group of people together, either online or offline who are representative of your target market. Spend some time talking to them and learning their views and opinions on the topic.

Secondary Market Research

Secondary research is existing information that is gathered from sources such as books, magazines, newspapers, industry publications and of course a variety of online sources. This is usually information about the industry itself including the size, trends, growth rate, and so on.

Ways to collect secondary market research database:

1. Find Industry Specific Resources - Start by finding out if there are industry specific publications related to your topic. Subscribing to these can be a good way to learn about an industry and keep on top of changes, new processes, competitors, and much more. It can also be a source of content for your publication.

2. Interview Your Competitors Or Experts in Your Field – Email makes this extremely easy. Start with an introductory email that explains your objectives and asks if they would be willing to answer a few questions on their industry. If they agree, email them a list of questions (not too long - 10 questions max) and have them answer right in your email and send it back to you. It's that simple! Be sure to follow up with a thank you email expressing your appreciation for them taking the time to help.

3. Act Like Your Customer – Use relevant terms to your product or service to search the web. Visit the first 10 sites returned by the search and use the products they’re offring. This will give you an opportunity to learn what your targted market already know and more.

4. Read Other People’s Newsletters and Blogs – By learning what information your potential readers already have access to you can better differentiate your newsletter. Look for topics that could be covered more thoroughly or from a different angle.

From your researches you should be able to answer the following questions:

  • What is the size of my target market?
  • What makes people in my target market want to buy?
  • What are the characteristics of a typical customer? (e.g.: age, gender, income, etc)
  • What features or special services do people in my target market want?
  • How often will people in my target market buy and how much is there average purchase?
  • How do they feel about what my competitors are offering?
  • How comfortable are they with technology? What technology do they use? What is there Internet connection speed, monitor size, browser version? Etc...
The more you know about your targeted market, the more successful you will be in engaging them, the more likely you will design a Web site they respond to, the faster you acquire new customers, the easier it will be for you to write sales letters, articles that are focused to their needs and the more you will make money.

How to Acquire New customers and Retain Existing ones

It’s a known fact that selling your products or services to a complete stranger is more difficult than selling to a person you have had contact before; whether it's an email conversation, forum participation or an existing customer who has bought something from you. Without doubt, it’s very hard to sell to a total stranger who does not know you. They don’t know whether you're a reputable Web merchant or a fly-by-night marketer. Also they don’t believe that your product or services will truly benefit them or not.

This is from where comes the need to acquire new customers and keep adding new ones buy creating a system (read "Your List Is Your Installed Base Profit" and related posts). In online world, we all know it to be true, if you aren't collecting email addresses from your website visitors, your ezine and newsller readers, etc... you are just not going to make it.

Imagine if 1000, 5000 or even 300000 subscribers are waiting to grab your newest products even before they are released! Hence, it's vital to build an opt in email list because it simply saves a lot of time, effort and advertising costs.

If you are not convinced that you need a good opt-in email list to succeed in your business, sought expert advices and read success stories of people creating a small fortune with opt-in email lists.

Here are four easy to follow steps that will guarantee success in building a responsive opt in email list which will make you GOOD money.
name="ProgId" content="Word.Document">

1 - Learn about the people you are trying to attract to your opt in email list - Knowing your customer base will enable you tailor your marketing messages to the needs and expectations of exsistant clients and potential customers. The more you target market, the better you’ll be able to target your information, style, newsletter plan and marketing. Read more

2 - Create A website that people trust enough to do business with and believe - Your website or blog's are not looking for a fancy website with beautiful designs or pictures, they are looking for an easy to use website, with contact information that people can use to contact you and a lot of information about the product or service you are selling. Be sure, the only thing that's going to convince your blog's visitor to buy from you (or hire you) is your web site's content.

3 - Get your optin email list members to trust you and your products first - Just creating your opt-in email list would not make you a believable seller. But providing quality information and free product in a regular basis that your subscribers can use to make money and or save time you create trust.

A group of people who trust you will most likely buy the product you offer to them. This will ensure that you have a recurring and consistent source of income. When you release a product or make an endorsement, you have your opt in email list members always ready to hear what you have to say.

The certain truth is that the money will come in only when the consumers and subscribers believe and trust in you. They want a product or service that could be a good exchange for their money. People are not going to buy something out of your recommendation if they don’t know you.

4 - Promote only quality products or services - Find a product or service that you personnaly like to use and that is useful, benifical and in demand. Try the product before you promote it and make sure that the service and procedures achieve the objectives of best Value.

5 - Show your expertise - There are a number of specific ways you can use to show your expertise. One of the best ways to show your expertise is to write about your subject of matter.
Put as many information as you can about your subject before you start building your opt-in email list. People are searching for information and if quality information you provide, they will see you as an expert in your niche. It is a great way to crate trust.

By writing articles, White Papers, reports and ebooks people will see you as important and give you respect.

If you are not a writer you can join a membership site that provides members with private label articles that you can use as your own or you can hire a freelancer at http://www.freelance.com or any other web service.

6 - Make friends with other opt-in list users - Veteran opt-in list users are able to tell you what to do and what to avoid because they have experienced what works and doesn't work. While different situations occur for different people, the general concept is almost the same and can still be very helpful. There are many things to avoid and these people will be able to guide you in the right direction.

Building a profitable customer base don’t just happen overnight. You need time, effort and preparations to acquire new customers and keep them in your list as long as you stay in business. Opt-in lists are built from scratch; as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or hire help when you need it, make your best to keep your subscribers happy and satisfied and they will do business with you.

What eCommerce Web Hosting Package Meets Your Needs?

Special SiteSell PromotionChoosing quality ecommerce web hosting for your business is NOT a task to be taken lightly. It could spell the difference between your success and failure. In order for you to get your website available to the public you are going to have to choose an affordable ecommerce web hosting with all the necessary.

    There are thousands of
ecommerce web hosting services out there, so how do you make a decision? eCommerce web hosting and design services come in all shapes and sizes, including scams.

What is eCommerce Web Hosting company?

A web host provider is a company who rents out web space and bandwidth to those who wish to publish a web site.

A host is a server which provides a home for your website on the World Wide Web. Just as your computer contains all your files, so a host contains all the files needed to run your website. Why you can’t keep all those files on your own computer? Because that would mean users would have to connect directly to your computer to see your website. This is not a good idea. It wouldn’t be secure and it would make your computer run like a tired snail.

The web host provides a unique web server where you can simply upload everything you need to the server and gives unique web address that people can type in to get directly to your site. These are specialized companies that take care of your files and keep your website running 24/7 and allows it to have all the security and extras it needs.

Where to Look Before Making the Leap

Finding good ecommerce web hosting and design services to host your website and able to offer a wide range of services is one of the most important decisions you will make. It’s very important to choose the RIGHT web hosting service from the beginning so that you will not have to look for another web hosting company few months later. It is better to go with a company that has been around for a longtime and that has credibility.

It may be more beneficial to look for a single cheap
ecommerce web hosting package that includes everything you need under one roof than dealing with too many companies and the main reason is: If something goes wrong and you are unable to fix the problem yourself dealing with one company is more than likely to be a smoother ride than dealing with three or four different companies.

Before deciding what ecommerce web hosting is right for you, learn how pick a hosting company that will truly offer the tools needed to run your online business and provide service you can depend on such as...
    • Hosting with unlimited bandwidth.
    • Domain name registration.
    • Graphic tools
    • Site building capabilities
    • Brainstorming and research
    • Search engine optimization
    • Electronic newsletter publishing
    • Unlimited autoresponder
    • Blogging
    • Web design, …etc.

Selecting the right host is the first important step towards building your Internet business.

Hosting services and companies vary from totally free, shared servers to large-scale dedicated machines. You’ll have to decide which is right for you and your business. To help you make that decision, study the following tables:

1 - Free Small Business Web Hosting

    Advantages

    Disadvantages

No Cost. Search engines view free hosting services as inferior and sometimes do not include them in their index.
You manage the server software and network. Some free hosting services do not allow you to use a custom domain name.

The bandwidth is restricted and may cause difficulty for visitors attempting to access your site.

Because the service is free, some providers do not strive for 100% uptime, which could result in your site being frequently inaccessible.

Software availability is limited, and free hosts do not generally provide database options.

Disk space is sometimes limited; ensure that you are getting all the room you need.

    Poor response time for support.

    Very limited support.

2 - Cheap Web Hosting Package

    Advantages

    Disadvantages

Server, software and network is managed and supported for you. Bandwidth restrictions.

You can select a custom domain name. Shared processing power.
Search engines don’t view you as second class if you have your own domain name. Limited software.
Improved response time for support. Potentially limited disk space.
    Uptime is improved.
Technical support is provided, generally 24 hours a day.

    3 - Mid-Priced Web Hosting—Shared Servers

    Advantages

    Disadvantages

Server, software and network is managed and supported for you. Shared processing power.
You can select a custom domain name.
Search engines don’t view you as second class if you have your own domain name.
    Improved response time for support.
Uptime is improved and generally guaranteed
Technical support is provided, generally 24 hours a day.
Generally offer a wide range of software options and configurable bundles.
    Improved bandwidth.

4 - Expensive, Dedicated Servers (cheap dedicated server web hosting)

    Advantages

    Disadvantages

Server, software and network is managed and supported for you. The cost is higher than any other options.
You can select a custom domain name.
Search engines don’t view you as second class.
    Improved response time for support.
Uptime is improved and generally guaranteed.
Technical support is provided, generally 24 hours a day.
Generally offer a wide range of software options and configurable bundles.
    Improved bandwidth.
    Processing power is not shared.

Your choice of server will depend on how much money you have available at the beginning and how much you plan to grow in the future. In my opinion, for commercial sites, free hosting is a waste of time. Your users are going to get blasted with annoying pop-ups every time they surf to your page, it’s going to be impossible to get a decent position in a search engine, and you don’t even get a real business URL. No one’s going to remember your Web address if they have to type http://www.anywebsitename.somebodyelseserver.com But it is possible to choose a cheap ecommerce web hosting package at the beginning and move up as your business begins to bring in money.

How To Get a Cheap Domain Name To Build Your Brand, Your Identity And Outsmart Your Competition!

SiteSell HostingAny Internet home business knows that owning a domain name is very important to online business success. A domain name creates identity, assigns the right image and forms the basis of email and website addresses.

Your domain name is the only clue to your online business. You do not have visual clues: no location, no look, and no store design. Instead, users have to type in a word or a set of words to reach your site.

So, choosing the right domain name for your business should involve a bit more than just picking the perfect name. You're also going to need to do a little research before you actually register web site domain name.

    Explanation of Domain Name System

What is a domain name? A domain name is a word or a group of words matching to the numeric IP address of a computer server (196.203.58.166 is an IP address it corresponds to my website domain name http://www.email-list-builder.com). The IP addresses are unique numbers that identify computers connected to the Internet.

We use host names or domain names just because they are much easier to remember, easily recognizable, offer a more natural way to name, and find a website than an IP address.

Choose a Suitable & Cheap Domain Name

Before Domain Name registraition, it’s very important that you sit down and generate a list of potential names for your website. But how do you find a good name and what do you have to be aware of when choosing a cheap domain name?

We all know that the best domain names have already been taken. But, if you are imaginative you can come up with a great domain name. The following tips are useful guidelines to steer you towards the most suitable domain name and extension for your home business!

    - Get a Generic Domain Name!

The need to provide immediate clues to an online business led to the prevalence of generic domain names. Generic names instantly provide the user with an idea of what a business is all about, what to expect and look for in a site. For instance, Etoys.com is a toy store.

The temptation of the generic name has been so powerful. Some companies even paid ridiculously high prices to get the name they want. The domains Loans.com and Wines.com were both bought for $3 million each. Telephone.com was acquired for $1.75 million, while Bingo.com sold for $1.1 million.

If you find a new market with less competition it is a good idea to get a generic domain name and promote multiple products to fill your customers’ needs and become a leader.

Rather than purchasing a cheap domain and a hosting account for each product you promote, choose a hosting service that provides a domain name and unlimited sub-domains. This way you don’t need to register a domain name for each product you sell. Just create a sub-domain for each of your products like…

    http://economicalcars.www.cars.com
    http://cheapcars.www.cars.com
    http://carsaccessory.www.cars.com

    Or…

You can use subfolders for your products such as:

    http://www.cars.com/usedcars/
    http://www.cars.com/cars-stereo-system/
    http://www.cars.com/cars_speakers

    - Branding Domain Names.

However, generic domain names do not necessarily create the “buzz” that you’d like surrounding your website. Branding has always been about proper names: McDonald's did not name their store Hamburger. Hertz is not called Car Rental. FedEx is not Mail Carrier. Kodak is not Photographs. Microsoft is not Computer Software.

For better branding results, your cheap domain name should be short and easy to remember.

    - Use Your Website, Product Or Business Name.

The Internet is getting more and more crowded and competitive. Everyday thousands if not millions of big, small and home business are coming by the herds making competition fierce. All of them compete for a piece of the online market pie. Consequently, to help your business gets more traffic your cheap domain name should be your niche name to create the impression of a narrow focus.

For example if you are in cars’ niche it’s a good idea to select "usedcars.com", "Mercedes.com", "cheapcars.com", "economicalcars.com", etc… Because searchers when they want to look for cars they have already some brands or benefits in mind, and they are more likely to search for "usedcars.com", "Mercedes.com", "cheapcars.com", "economicalcars.com", rather than just "cars.com".

    - Use Your Name

You can also register your full name, for example, www.GleyYahya.com and add to it words like “info, marketing, tips, publishing, ebook, toys, travel, news, onlinemarketingsecrets, etc. This will give your prospect an idea about your product or service, how to serve your customers better, etc…

It takes a little more brain storming, to come up with a memorable and meaningful domain name. But, it is worth the effort for the sake of leverage and cost savings.

Remember the following tips when creating a domain name.

    • The domain name should be short
    • The domain name should be simple
    • It should be suggestive of your business category
    • It should be unique
    • It should be easy to interpret and pronounce
    • It should be personalized
    • It should not be difficult to spell
    • It should not be difficult to remember

If the domain name for your small business is already taken, use your imagination and check short, easy to remember words and phrases.

Success stories around the word "Google" is in no way related to search engines and the word Amazon tells you nothing about books. Still, these names are associated with the product they provide. Strong, memorable names and phrases coupled with smart marketing strategies can and will build an online presence and create the Hero image for your business.

What Domain Name Extension Is Available For Your Website?

What is a Domain Extension? The domain name extension is the letters following the “period” at the end of your domain name (ex. “.com”) and it’s spelled “dot com”. TheYour cheap domain name extension is also called the top level domain (TLD). The domain name extension TLD tells about what type of site the domain refers to.

The “.com” extension is the extension under which most of commercial domain name are registered. There are plenty of different extensions out there, such as (.net) standing for network, (.info) is for information, (.biz) is for business, (.org) is for non-profit websites, etc…

You will find also country-specific top domains such as “.cn” for China, “.ca” for Canada, “.fr” for France, “.it” Italy, etc. Every domain name is registered under an extension of some kind.

Some country codes have been brought out and made available for general use. These stand for popular industries. Some examples are “.fm” for the radio industry, “.tv” standing for television, and “.ws” for web site.

If you don’t find a “.com” extension for your domain name you can get “.biz”, “.ws”, “.info” or “.net”. Those extensions are actually acceptable.

How To Register Your Domain Name?

Cheap Domain names can be registered through many different companies (known as "registrars") – a listing of these companies is available at ICANN: http://www.icann.org. You can register for 1 to 10 years - prices can vary anywhere from $4 to $45 or more per year.

Most web hosting companies, will handle the registration process for you, but make sure that you are properly listed as the owner of the cheap domain name when it is registered.

If you have registered a domain name for a specific period, make sure you renew it in time. You can be surprised at the number of cases, where site owners have let a domain name slip by if they have not renewed in time.

    Before website domain name
registraition check any domain name availability. Use domain name Whois to search for an available cheap domain name or to look up information on an already registered one.

Simply type the name you want to check in the search box and in less than a second you'll find out if it's available or not. If it has already been registered by another party, you'll be able to see who owns it and how to contact them.

Take a few minutes to visit the site before you decide to register another version of the domain name to find out what the site offers.

Before you buy a cheap domain name online make sure it’s the domain you really want for your business. According to NSI, domain names cannot be changed once created. Furthermore, there is "no money back" when you register a domain name. Once the process is done, there is no option. Your only choice is to register a new domain name.

To protect your brand you may like to consider registering “.biz”, “.ws”, “.info” or “.net” and .com version of your domain name. Also register your domain name with and without dashes.

Check versions of your domain name that could be frequently misspelled or easily mistyped. If they are open and available, register these versions too. It may cost you some extra money, but these additional domain names can be set up as pointers to your real site and bring you a substantial traffic.

Should You Use a Key Phrase In Your Domain Name?

None of the major search engines give preference to keywords in domain names or URLs anymore. However, it can’t hurt to include them. Even if the search engine algorithms don’t give your pages any advantage by having your key phrases in your cheap domain name, there are other benefits that most marketers overlook….

Most marketers work hard to get their pages to rank high at the search engine thinking they will get tons of free-targeted traffic from search engines. And, they forget or don’t give the needed importance to getting users to click on their links.

Getting people to click on your link need more than that. There’s still a CALL TO ACTION. That visitor still has to click on your link to go and visit your website.

You’d be surprised when you see how many sites rank high at the search engines but they don’t get the traffic they deserve.

To get people to click on your link you need to be using TITLE tags and domain name that are compelling to your targeted market. Think about it twice.

Let’s say you are setting up a site about dog care. Which one of these domains will you click when you are searching for information about dog care?

Take a look at the screenshot bellow…

I’m sure would click on the title tag with bowled words. Why?

    1. Bowled words or phrases are eyes catching. Bold words have been tested on readers; they draw the reader's attention to the area and are easy to read.

    2. The domain names with persuasive key phrases are more compelling. Just like everything else in direct marketing. It’s the words that get people to take action.

Increasing the clicks on a search engine (SE) listing is no exception. How compelling you make your title tags and domain names have everything to do with how much traffic you’ll get. So, don’t hurt your results.

If you write solid titles and have a compelling domains, you’ll get more traffic from the search engines.

You can also profit from adding your main keyword phrase to your domain name when another site links to you, most of the time they use anchor text in the form of "yourdomainname.com". For that reason I think it will help a lot to have your most important key phrase in the domain name.

Getting a cheap domain name with your most important keywords in it would save you time telling websites linking to you to use the keyword you are wanting in the anchor text.

Using Expired Domains To Skyrocket Your Traffic.

Thousands of webmasters invest time, effort and money to promote their site and build up traffic. Many of them then lose interest and move on, leaving their site active. That means, although they still own the domain; they’re not actively promoting it. All the automatic marketing systems they’ve put in place are still bringing in traffic. The site runs itself.

Now, at some point the ownership of those domains is going to expire. If you do expired domain name search and grab those domains once they come back onto the market, you’ve got a pre-built stream of customers. You can either rebuild the site, or redirect the traffic to your domain. You could set up an affiliate program get paid for users someone else paid for. It’s that easy.

There are tons of options, and lots of easy ways to make lots of money with very little effort. Opportunities like these are everywhere.

Websites such as www.expiredtraffic.com or www.deleteddomains.com actually do all the legwork and let you reap all the rewards. Expired Traffic even has an affiliate program and www.snapnames.com allows you to back-order a specific domain name.

Do be careful when using other sites though. There are some cheaters out there that will sell you subscriptions, provide you with outdated lists, take your money and keep the good domains for themselves. It happens, and there’s little point in taking a risk when www.deleteddomains.com does such a great job.

If you have any new idea that may help our readers or whant to ask question feel free to comment on this post.
