Wow! Pinoy Raket Online is more than 3 months old already last July and once again it’s about time to thank my top Entrecard Droppers for July. Bizphere once again is the top dropper for two months in a row. I’m thinking about link love is not enough to reward my loyal droppers so I decide to give some Entrecard Credits for the Top 10 Droppers who took time in visiting Pinoy Raket Online to drop their cards. The top 1 dropper gets 300 EC, the rest of the top 5 should get 200 EC, while the 6th to 10th place gets 100 EC respectively. I know it’s not that much but it would take you at least half an hour to earn 100 EC by dropping cards on other blogs.

Just when we thought it was all about Manny Pacquiao and Charice Pempengco’s many achievements, along came the Philippine All Stars successful win at the 2008 World Hip-Hop Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada last August 3. During the elimination round held the day before the finals, the Philippine All Stars placed 1st against 12 teams from different countries that gave the multi-awarded dance crew the confidence to top the other competitors: 1. Philippine All Stars - Philippines, 2. Kaba Modern - USA, 3. Prestige - New Zealand, 4. Xtreme Soul Style - Canada, 5. Legacy - New Zealand, 6. Eclectik - Trinidad & Tobago, 7. Peridot - United Kingdom, 8. Black Soul - Mexico, 9. Flos Angeles - USA, 10. Release - South Africa, 11. Rockwell Family - Canada, 12. Phunk Phenomenon - USA.

Looks like the highly anticipated reunion concert of the Eraserheads has been getting a lot of negative feedback from the media because of their alleged sponsorship from a major tobacco firm – Philip Morris. Philip Morris already confirmed that their company is behind the sponsorship of the said event.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) and tobacco control advocates appealed to the Eraserheads to reject Philip Morris’ sponsorship of their one-night reunion concert that is set on August 30. DOH warned Philip Morris that they’d be charged with criminal offense if the concert pushes through. According to Republic Act No. 9211 or the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003 which prohibits cigar companies from sponsoring sports, cultural, and artistic events of individual or team athletes, artists and performers. Ouch!

If you are a Filipino and you haven’t heard of Team Manila shirts, you are missing out on a lot. I have been proudly rocking a Team Manila shirt for three years now since my first purchase at their store in Rockwell Makati. I own 12 shirts now and the number of my collection just keeps growing and it’s fast becoming an addiction. What makes Team Manila shirts uniquely Pinoy is their stylish cool designs, from our national icon – Jose Rizal rocking a Ray Ban sunglasses to silhouettes of our own folk dancers aptly titled United Tinikling Collective.

Yep! You’ve read it right, I won 3 prizes in one contest over at Life is Colourful Blog Anniversary Contest. This is why I love joining blog contests – WINNING. LOL. Heck, even if you don’t win anything from these contests, just the experience and socialization you develop with other bloggers are a prize itself, so when you run your own contest in the future you’ll have an idea how to pull it off and you can invite those bloggers you’ve met as sponsors or participants.
Now, I didn’t won any cash prize but I won blogging resources tools and banner links instead which I prefer more because it would help me improve and promote Pinoy Raket Online. Here the list of the prizes I won:

The hype built up on the coming Eraserheads reunion concert is spreading like wild fire in the Philippine blogosphere and in the Philippine media as well. I can’t blame us Pinoys with the rising anticipation of the biggest concert event in our country, Eraserheads is the only OPM band that mattered during the 90’s. Eraserhead’s music has sort of been the soundtrack of my life, I sang “Pare Ko” with all my heart when I first got my heart broken when I was 16, the song “Magasin” touched my sentiments in a unique way, “With a Smile” kept my spirits afloat when I’m depressed, while “Ang Huling El Bimbo” was an instant classic that captured the hearts of every Filipino. The list goes on and the influence that the Eraserheads made in our music industry cannot be overlooked.

This entry was guest posted by my cousin Khristina Villacorta, a big fan of the Eraserheads and a true blue music junkie who listens to almost every genre of music from A Tribe Called Quest to Snow Patrol to Hed Kandi. She is now happily married and currently residing in Seattle Washington with her husband VJ and their lovely daughter Katrina Ysabel.
So it is true. The legendary band Eraserheads is having a 45-minute free reunion concert come August 30 at the CCP Grounds. The said band disbanded for six years and this upcoming occasion will most definitely mark a milestone in the Philippine music industry.

Last week, I expressed my disappointment over PTC sites as a breeding ground for scammers. I got a few comments from other PTC members who shared the same experience like I do. It would be easy for me to generalize that all PTC sites are a scam, but I know it would be unfair to other PTC sites who are honest and have been paying their members properly. I think there are a hundred of PTC sites out there today and every other week at least one or two new PTC program comes out, only 5% of that number would survive the first 6 months of their operation. Out of those 100 PTC sites only 10% of them can be considered as a legitimate program to earn money online and one of them is IsabelMarco.
