After losing both my parents in the year 2004, there was one thing that I vowed to do and that was to try to stay close to my remaining family members. Now with my two brothers I have been able to do just that, but I haven’t spoke to my sister in four years. This does make me sad as we are family, but with the type of personality she has, reconnecting just isn’t in my best interest.
Last week my brother sent me a picture of my sister of what she looks like now and in all honesty, if I didn’t know it was her, I would have never ever guessed she was my sister. Since I’ve seen her last, she has put on over 200 lbs. This really can’t be too healthy and I’m thinking she should really invest in some kind of weight loss supplement. Now I don’t mean to be mean, but all this extra weight can’t be good for her health. But, unfortunately, this is probably as close as I will ever get to her, as getting involved in her life and her drama just isn’t healthy for me.

Well here we go again. I just got the kids back to school from a two week stay at home and my husband informs me that he is taking a week’s vacation next week. So…I will have him home for a week. But if he thinks he’s going to sit around and do nothing for a week, boy is he in for a surprise. I already have a major job picked out for him to do during that week. I have decided that next week will be the time that I will get him to put the new flooring in my home office. For the past six months he has used the excuse that he can’t put down the flooring because I have too much office furniture in there and he can’t get to the floor. So this week I plan on clearing the room out so the first of next week I can have my brand new flooring put up. I guess he won’t be so pleased that he took a week off, now will he?!

I know this is probably going to sound really mean (and I’m not a mean person, honest!), but today is the last day of the kid’s Christmas break and I couldn’t be happier!! Yeah, I really do love the little ones, but with 17 days straight home from school it is really time that they go back! The first week off on their vacation wasn’t too horribly bad, but this past week has been pretty brutal for the fighting. So tomorrow morning these two will be on the school bus even if I have to carry them piggy back to get there. lol
Like I said, I really do love the little devils. But enough is enough and they need to be in school. More importantly, I need for them to be in school!

Yay! It’s Friday. I think Friday has probably got to be my favorite day of the week. It marks the end of a brutal week and gives me the opportunity to look forward to a little bit of fun and relaxation for a couple of days. Yes, I do normally work every weekend, but because I love my job, I really don’t mind going into work. Tomorrow after I get off work my husband is going to take me into tow to get my new ring sized so that is why I am especially looking forward to this weekend. I don’t know, maybe while I’m there I’ll check out the new Orient watches for possible presents in the future.
Anyway…have a great weekend and I’ll see you all again the first of next week!

Well I think I’m finally starting to get my bearings and getting things back under control. Today my husband went back to work, tomorrow and Sunday I will return back to work and then on Tuesday the kids will return back to school. Although I really do love Christmas and spending time with my family, I am quite looking forward to getting back into my normal routine. So I plan on taking it easy this weekend and then the first of next week, getting back to serious life. How about you guys? Has everything returned back to normal yet for you folks?

Well I trust you all found the new year to your liking! We didn’t do very much exciting here last night, but it was still a wonderful, quiet and relaxing new year. After our new year’s eve feast we just sat back and watched a movie. I actually didn’t get to see the year 2009 arrive as I was so tired and ended up going to bed at 11:15 pm. But when I woke up this morning I realized that it had arrived.
So…to each and everyone of you I wish you a totally awesome 2009! I look forward to seeing you all in the coming year.

This year for Christmas I was one lucky lady! My husband purchased me a brand new diamond ring. Not bad considering we’ve been together for almost 15 years. When I went down to my place of work to pick up my paycheck I showed my boss my new ring. She then commented on how spoiled I am. She was just kidding. She was really impressed. So to outdo my husband. she then informed me that her husband bought her two tv lifts for Christmas. Not very romantic eh?! But, it was something that she asked for. Now if I could only figure out what I did to deserve such a wonderful gift, maybe I could do it again. No, I’m just joking. It’s a beautiful gift and I will treasure it forever.

Last week I took my car in for it’s annual inspection and…it failed! My car is going to need quite a few new parts put on it to get it to pass. Sometimes I really have to wonder if driving my own car is worth it. Between the price of gas, car parts and even cheap auto insurance this car is starting to cost me a fortune. The only time that I really need it is on the weekends for when I go to work, but I really have to wonder if it’s worth it. My husband does have a car but I can’t drive it (it’s too big). So…I’m either going to have to suck it up and pay all this money for a weekend car, or I’m really going to have to learn how to drive his car. Either way I have to look at a new way to save cash on my car driving.

It seems like I’m never in here updating my blog and when I finally am able to stop in, all I do is whine. Well, I’m sorry for this. All I can say is that it’s been a pretty rough month for illnesses in our house. I have been sick now for almost a month and haven’t been able to get very much accomplished. Because I’m coughing my head off most of the night, I don’t get a whole lot of sleep so during the day I’m pretty exhausted and don’t have the energy for anything. Here it is only three days before Christmas and I still don’t have my tree up. The main reason for this is I lack the energy to move out all my books from my bookshelf so I move it and set the tree up where it normally sits. Even though I’m still not feeling good today, my goal is to finally get this tree up.
On a more positive note, I do now have some pretty powerful cough medicine. So hopefully I’ll start to feel better soon and be back posting a little more frequently.
