Halima Bashir’s meeting with President Bush
This photograph is so powerful to me, especially after reading Halima’s story. This woman survived torture and gang rape for speaking out against an attack on Darfur to a group of school children. She remained completely wrapped in clothing as she still fears for her life.
Yet, here in the “free world”, she is able to have a discussion with the President of the United States.
A simple aesthetic to remind me that while things are hardly perfect, I am deeply grateful to have been born where I was.

  17. ECS Goal3+Athlon64 3200 AMD Athlon64 3200+ 754 SiS 761 GX Micro ATX Motherboard/CPU/CPU Fan/Memory Combo
Bought this old & low cost motherboard with 64-bit AMD CPU and Memory as a Linux server.  May need to turn it into a HTPC, with the right silent video card TBD.

The Little Things - Danny Elfman.

Danny is an excellent composer, and with this song he’s a great singer too.

I heard this song when I was a kid.  Now I just heard it again from an episode of “Life on Mars”.  Great song.

This Dr. Martens’ boot looks great, but is it practical?  The zipper in the middle may not be able to withstand rain or snow.  It may just rust, too.  It might also let water seep in.
sarazucker:

dr. martens has been releasing a bunch of upgrades on their classics this past season, and the jungle khan 8 eye boot is no exception. they have been revamped into two new black colorways, as well as a beige and light brown suede.
