I’ve been a little absent from Parenting Squad because a little career boost sent me away from my usual routine. My unpublished short story collection won a very cool award. Yay! I envy my “crafty” friends. You know…. the ones who scrap, sew, and design their own blog templates. They do it so easily, and so it seemed futile for me to even try. Then I discovered a website that gave me back some confidence.

With this year's national election, California's Yes on Prop 8 campaign, and the nationwide obsession with scapegoating immigrants for economic woes--hatred and fear is infiltrating all manner of American life.
