The Assumptionistas in a reunion

I was honored to be invited to the AC High School volleyball team’s reunion at Coach Jake’s phome in San Lo-Makati. My daughter Rhea Marie was part of the H.S. Varsity since she was in her 1st year and even up to her college years when she was taking up Psychology as her pre-med course. She was the team’s “libero” or “sweeper”. Wonder what was my participation back then? I was an avid spectator and supporter, cheerer, stage mother and what nots during inter-school competitions and was there in a lot of of victories and a few defeats.

'Twas nice to see the girls who were just then young teeners now as full grown ladies, some are married with kids, professionals – 3 are now doctors, 1 has a Pre-school of her own, 2 works abroad aside from the others we’ve missed because they are now based in other parts of the world.

I was also happy to see “The Greatest Coach on Earth”, Jake Uichico doing well after he survived a stroke more than 6 years ago. He was an eminent influence to all the girls. He had moulded them and instilled in them the spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, good character and refinement that made them better persons that they are now.

Kitchen renovation on its way

Friday, January 2, 2009

My husband wants our kitchen renovated as early as next week. He would like to have a complete make-over by changing the cabinets and kitchen faucets as well as the sink. You know what made him decide to do this? The kitchen is infested with never ending cockroaches roaming around and hiding under the sink and the cabinets. No amount of cleaning and insecticide sprays can completely eliminate these pests. Gosh, they’re so irritating!

Blessings shared

Just before the year ended, I’m proud to have been an instrument of joy to others. I’m talking here of a feeding program not just for the physical body but spiritual food for the soul as well, when I together with friend and fellow church member of “The Next Generation Int’l Christian Church” Ex Congressman Tony Boy Aquino and wife Anna sponsored a feeding program for the poor and depressed constituents of Brgy. 900 at Punta, Sta. Ana headed by Chairman Agnes Magpale. Though it was showering, the event was a success. Only 200 food stubs where distributed in advance but it seemed we had fed a hundred more, amazing! The Lord must have worked wonders!

If I may quote the last part of my welcome and introductory speech that went this way “He’s a native of Tarlac, Chairman, Alay sa Bayan Foundation, nephew of the late Sen. Benigno Aquino AND (in a murmuring voice and a wink) cousin of Kris Aquino. I’m proud to present Congressman Tony Boy Aquino”. Natawa sila dun sa Kris Aquino!

After the speeches and just before the distribution of pack lunches, an inspirational message and prayer was solemnly delivered by our Pastor, Rev. John Garcia. Well applauded special numbers by the SK members and youth of Barangay 900 were presented to us guests too.

After the event, our group of 5 vehicles convoyed all the way to Tonang’s Restaurant for a sumptuous lunch courtesy of Tonyboy and Anna.

I also wish to thank all the concerned members of our church for their kind help and support. Hopefully, more programs like this will be extended to a lot more depressed Barangays in Manila.

To avoid the Christmas Rush

Monday, December 29, 2008

Well as usual, I always cram and do my last minute shopping the day before Christmas day itself. On the first month of the New Year, I always plan to buy gifts as early as I can but always break this promise. Anyways I will still keep this plan open and shop whenever there are sale items around in preparation for the Holidays. Cross my heart, promise, peks man.

I love Vegas!

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Getting the experience on how it was trekking along the las vegas strip was simply unforgettable. The lights were awesome and you could really feel the excitement and thrill of anyone you meet along. I wish I can have another chance to visit Las Vegas on my future trip to the United States hopefully this coming year before my VISA expires on 2010. Oh I sooooo love Vegas!

Enhance your mood, suppress your appetite

Another way of losing weight is by suppressing your diet without affecting your desire to eat. Ephadrasil hardcore is a mood enhancing, appetite suppressing fat burner that contains a combination of the best and effective stimulants like caffeine, green tea and Yohimbe to name a few. These stimulants are not bad; you just need to be aware of their strength and may start off with the minimum recommended dosage to see how your body reacts. Don’t be carried away with the negative views by competitors trying to ruin its name. Ephedrasil is obviously Ephedra free and would not be sold by some of the largest supplement retailers. Go check their site to get positive reviews from happy users who got full benefits out of these supplements.

Erap and Loren at Sta. Ana Church

Thursday, December 18, 2008

'Twas 2 days ago when I was informed by the Sta. Ana Church Council staff that they need 10 Barangay Tanods on December 17, to provide Peace and Order at the premises for Erap's visit and gift giving to 2,000 residents chosen among the 19 Barangays of Sta. Ana. Since the Sta. Ana Church is covered by the Barangay I chair along with Precinct Station No. 6 they gave e the honor to provide the peace keeping scheme.
As instructed the Tanods where there as early as 6:00 a.m. and I got there by 9:00 a.m. to supervise the mob. Erap arrived with Loren, Maceda and avid supporter Rez in a semi open truck with around 4-6 back-up vehicles. I didn't made "papel", I was just at the foot of the improvised stage listening to their speeches until Maceda complimented my "orange uniformed tanods" incidentally matched Eraps motiff when I raised my hand and butt in "That's why I'm also in my orange shirt to match them because I'm their Chairman". At that juncture, I was asked to come up and join them, warmly welcoming me with all praises and nice comments.
