The start of a new year seems to be the right time to take stock of where we are in life, doesn’t it? We may not make resolutons but ut us definitely a time of reflection and even of future planning.
Sometimes it can be hard to work out how to get where you want to be. That is where “Life Coach” comes in. Life Coach by Pam Richardson is your life coach in a book. If anyone is able to be a life coach it is Pam. She is the founder of the UK College of Life Coaching which is an organisation active world wide in setting standards for the field.
The cover blurb says “Realize who you can be with this no-nonsense guide. Four fast, effective and practical steps should help you get the most you can out of all areas of your life. There is advice on how to identify and focus on your strengths to reach your full potential and how to set and achieve goals.”
What I like about the book is that it sets out 4 steps to follow. Yes, only 4. That instantly makes the whole process seem manageable, doesn’t it? She follows through with clever and commonsense advice and guidance.
If you are looking for complicated and detailed advice then this book is not for you - no book could give you what you need! If you are looking for a book to help you get started and guide you through your process then this is perfect.
There is nothing worse than having to live with spotty skin as a teenager. It ruins your confidence and makes you look like sandpaper in every photo. Remember?
Nivea has taken pity on teenagers this summer. They know that every picture these days is plastered all over Facebook, My Space and personal web pages. Imagine how they feel when they see their own spotty face named ad labelled for all the world to see?
To find out what really makes an online profile picture-perfect, NIVEA VISAGE YOUNG surveyed teenagers aged between 13 and 19 to find out what counts to them. The response was clear - spotty skin (44%) and a bad smile (52%) ranked as the top two attributes that make a ‘bad’ photo, followed by bad hair, the wrong clothes and dodgy makeup…
Now teenagers need not worry if their face has broken out or their smile’s not perfect, NEW NIVEA VISAGE YOUNG bye-bye spot! and NIVEA Lip Care Light Kiss are the answer!
With the introduction of the NIVEA VISAGE YOUNG bye-bye spot! range skin impurities can now be combated with an easy two-step system:· NIVEA VISAGE YOUNG bye-bye spot! SOS-Stick - a quick-fix antibacterial stick combines the power of Salicylic Acid and soothing Hamamelis to effectively dry out and target unwanted spots. Simply press the pocket-sized pen firmly onto the spots to release the treatment and dry them out quick-smart.
· NIVEA VISAGE YOUNG bye-bye spot! Night Care is an oil-free night cream designed to prevent spots popping up, before they appear. This light and fast absorbing gel cream is non-comedogenic (so won’t clog your pores!) and contains Seboreductin to ‘starve’ spots by reducing skin sebum. Also containing Provitamin B5, NIVEA VISAGE YOUNG bye-bye spot! Night Care gently regenerates skin and soothes irritations all while you catch up on your beauty sleep!
For a picture perfect smile NIVEA Lip Care Light Kiss has you covered for profile pout perfection. This feather-light balm contains Shea butter and Almond Oil and absorbs quickly, leaving nothing but a subtle shimmer (and no stickiness) for light, lovely lips.
Wouldn’t it be nice to give your teenagers a summer where they don’t have to worry about their looks?

Happy New Year to you! I hope your NYE party was fun and that you aren’t suffering too much today.
At Beauty Banquet we have made some New Year resolutions and one of them is to change the colour swatches that we are currently using. I hope to be able to bring them to you at a cheaper price.

The offer applies only to the colour sets we have left in stock. If you colour is unavailable your money will be refunded but we will still be able to give you some tips about your colour season.
If you know what your colour season is and would like to buy the swatch then you may do so. Again should the selected swatch be out of stock your money will be refunded.

Welcome to the December 12, 2008 edition of beauty carnival.
If you enjoy making your own beauty products then you should consider this. Lipbalm is essential no matter what season it is. The cold of winter dries just as badly as the hot summer wind. Tomato Lady presents Homemade Lip Balm posted at Little House in the Suburbs.
Now, I know that Christmas can be long and tiring as well as involving large amounts of alcoholic partying but now you don’t have to worry about losing your partner. Just follow the GTS navigation system in her lingerie. Yes, that is what I said. Read all about it - Mac presents Get Your Sexy On posted at Actorlicious.
beautyunderground presents Eyebrow Tweezing posted at Beauty Underground, saying, “I share some tips and tricks for ruling over my forehead mane.” Eyebrows can really make your look, can’t they? I am sure that you have all seen the pics of Elizabeth Hurley before she had her eyebrows done. Clever tweezing can take you from plain to beauty in just a few plucks.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this carnival while it has been here and in its previous home at Tonic Beauty. From both of us we wish you Merry Christmas and safe holidays.
That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of beauty carnival using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
Cherry Magazine is out now and it brings with it some excellent competitions for you as well as some wonderful shopping finds. It is free to read! There is a lot in it so we hope you have some relaxation time over Christmas so that you can read it in peace.
Oh, and for those of you who are over the whole shopping experience just look at the video on the Cherry website and it will make you feel much more calm about it all!
Sprout Publishing has released the first edition of “Tales and Secrets from Female Entrepeneurs”. This is a great read, particularly if you are thinking of starting your own business. There is so much in it that it would have been good to know before we began!
You will also find chapters about Anne Maybus of Beauty Banquet (yes, that is me!) and Kathie Holmes of My New Shiny Shoes It is a really exciting thing to see a chapter all about yourself in a real book.
You will find some of the astounding women in this book featured in Cherry Magazine either as interviewees or as writers. The book has stories from Poppy King, Sandy Forster, Rhonda Britten and more. These are the women who have established themselves as real entrepeneurs in the business world. It is fascinating to read what they have learnt.
Talk Prom Dresses presents Prom 2009 Make-Up Trends posted at Prom Dresses, saying, “Some makeup advice for people who are planning on attending the prom this year”
