Sarah Palin's Review of 2008

Someone remind Sarah Palin that she lost and she is no longer on the campaign trail.

Watching this New Year's Eve interiew is a good reminder that the American people dodge the bullet and we can all breathe a sigh of relief that this woman is NOT our vice president.

Can you spot all the times Sarah Palin stretches the truth and alters reality?

Welcome to the World Tripp Palin

My heart goes out to this little guy, he is already off to a rough start.

Both parents are high school dropouts. One grandmother has been arrested for drug dealing. The other grandmother is a narcissistic power hungry politician.

The worst burden he has to bear is his name, Tripp. According to the Urban Dictionary, Tripp: 1. To engage in sexual intercourse with, usually while drunk or out of pure infatuation. Another word for having sex, i.e. She got drunk and tripped with him after the party.
2. A noob of extraordinary proportions.

I can't even begin to know what was going on in their minds when they came up with this name and I'm not even going to try and guess. For more insights into the name see this post at Mudflats Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

On the up side for the family they have already found a way to cash in on the little guy and use him as tool to promote their own finances and fame. People Magazine paid a large amount of money for an exclusive story and photos, (early reports estimate the fee paid was around $300,000). However, as we know Sarah Palin really doesn't know the meaning of the word exclusive as shown by her non-stop media blitz after the campaign lost and she was giving an exclusive tv interview every day for over week. Who knows how many more "exclusive" cash paying gigs little Tripp will be forced to endure.

Even though Sarah Palin has not made a formal welcome or shown any joy or warmth in public to welcome the newest bundle of joy into the world, I know there many who are keeping little Tripp in their prayers and hope only the best for him.

I do find it odd though that after all the positive, happy and supportive fanfare about Bristol's pregnancy, that now that the baby has arrived there is no family announcement, no welcome message on the govenor's website (as there was and still is for little Trigg), no outward sign of support and joy - other then making a large sum of money from People magazine for the story, little Tripp's birth has had little fanfare. I sure hope he is loved for more then his ability to bring in big bucks.

Update: People magazine is denying making any offers for photos and a story. According to the ethics code of Alaskan politics Bristol could not accept a financial deal any way. The details and source for the birth of Tripp is still very fuzzy. It seems the person who reported the birth only "heard" about it, but hasn't spoken to a Palin family member. The only family member who supposedly has spoken about the birth of Tripp is an Aunt. Everything has to be smoke and mirrors with Sarah Palin instead of just a clear cut factual announcement

Letterman's Top 10 Bush Moments

Of course the shoe throwing incident would make most top 10 lists, but that happened after the Letterman list had been compiled.

Sarah Palin Has Been Palin' Around With Drug Dealers

It's fun to say in a very obnoxious voice and a phony look of concern on your face (the way Sarah Palin showed us all how when she was running for vp).

The headlines out of Alaska read yesterday that Bristol's Palin's future mother-in-law was arrested on six drug charges. The only interest I have in this news is I worry about the kids. Of course Sarah Palin's belief that everyone is guilty by association makes me wonder if she will consider herself guilty when the time comes for her to run for public office again.

Update: Sherry Johnston arrest involved the drug Oxycontin

Warren at the Inauguartion a Time for All to be Tolerant

I was disappointed when I first heard of the selection of Warren for the Invocation on Inauguration Day. And the sadness and anger was slowly draining the joy of the coming events. The selection of such a polarizing person loomed like huge shadow on a day that we all want to see as time of change and celebration.

I may never be able to totally understand the choice, nor will I probably ever totally agree with the selection. But today I had an insight that I wanted to share with you.

Before the election when I was reading up on Sarah Palin, I came across information about how she wouldn't even get on stage at an event because there were people on stage that were prochoice. I remember thinking, "gee that is dumb."

And then I realized that my feelings about Warren, were in some respect similar to Palin's reaction to those who disagree with her.

The more I thought about it, I decided I would do my best to learn and grow in open mindedness and follow the example of PE Obama. I tell my daughter all the time that PE Obama is a great man, someone to admire and follow his example. And so I think it is a good idea that I take my own advice too.

PE Obama is willing to stand on stage with someone who disagrees with him on some very emotionally charged issues. If we can be willing to stand on stage (in spirit) with him, then I think it can be a time of great change. We will probably never change Warren's mind and he will most certainly never change ours - however, if a mutual respect and dialogue can be established, more and more people can be educated and fear and misunderstandings can be lessened.

So instead of dreading that part of the Inauguration, I am going to follow PE Obama's example and be tolerant and respectful, and rise to the challenge in hopes that by that example others can also be tolerant and respectful on both sides of the issues.

Alaska Government Racial Emails

My questions is why hasn't Sarah Palin come out against these recist emails? At the very least she should be making a public statement that she will make sure every one involved is publically outed, that some sort of training or seminars will be held to help put an to this type of thing happening again.

Her silence speaks volumes - by not speaking out against it she is condoning the spread of these racial emails.

There is certainly enough evidence that shows Palin is a bigot.

Racist Emails on State of Alaska Accounts: A Palin Connection?
Excerpts: sources that I have spoken to in Alaska acknowledge that there is a pervasive "atmosphere of racism" throughout pockets of state government. "You hear it all the time," said one. "It's accepted as part of normal conversation. No one can be surprised by this. Sarah has done nothing to stop it."

Palin has long had strained relations with Alaska's African American community. "Blacks don't have the levels of access to the governor and state commissioners as with past administrations," said African American attorney Rex Butler and an Alaska resident since 1983. "It seems the posture of (Palin's) administration with Blacks is: Don't need them, don't worry about them."

Gwendolyn Alexander, the president of Alaska's African-American Historical Society, detailed controversies such as Palin's staffing practices, Palin allegedly stating she "doesn't have to hire any Blacks" for major projects and her refusal to attend that state's major African-American celebration - Juneteenth.
Sarah Palin herself while on the campaign trail said over and over again about Obama, "He's not one of us. He doesn't see America like we do." The implications of these statements are obvious and based on stirring up racial fears and hatred.

Suggestion for Inauguration Day Invocation

I understand that President Elect Obama wants to be inclusive and he is going to be the president of the entire country (and not just those who voted for him), so I am going to try very hard and not be overly upset by his choice of Rick Warren to give the invocation at the inauguration. It is disappointing, and will be for many a sad moment during an otherwise historical day of celebration.

My suggestion to the Obama team, rather than chosing a very polarizing and bigoted pastor to give the the inauguaration day invocation, invite two or three religious leaders to give short invocations, perhaps even include someone of the Muslim faith.

Now that would be a positive statement of change and inclusiveness.

As president, Mr. Obama is going to have 1000s of decisions to make, and most of them are going to be extremely difficult and cannot make every one happy. Although the selection of Warren is disappointing and feels like a slap in the face to many, I encourage folks to trust that as president, Mr. Obama will continue to to protect everyone's rights when it comes to policies and laws because that is where it really counts.

Caroline Kennedy and Peering Into The Future

Caroline Kennedy has expressed an interest in taking over the Senate Seat for Hilary Clinton.

For me, it is a wonderful, logical, and profoundly moving choice and I hope that she does get selected.

I plan on enjoying the awe-inspiring next four years (hopefully 8 more years) of President Obama. However, with the prospect of Caroline Kennedy in the Senate, I can' t help but peer into the crystal ball and see the possibility of 2016 Caroline Kennedy running for president or vice-president.

If it happens, remember you read it here first.

Of course, it all depends on whether or not Caroline Kennedy is qualified - just name alone is not enough to hold the Senate seat and win elections.

Obama Holiday

In central Alabama's Perry County you can now celebrate The Barack Obama Day which has been approved for the second Monday in November. Commissioners passed a measure that would close county offices for the new annual holiday and its roughly 40 workers will get a paid day off.

Even though I don't live in Alabama, I'm looking forward to celebrating next November!

I will also be celebrating every single day after Jan. 20 as "The Return To Sanity" for our nation.

Sarah Palin's Tribute to the Turkey

Sarah Palin did what most govenors and the U.S. President do every year around this time - pardon a turkey. However, Sarah Palin put her own spin on this ceremony, that will go down in history as one of the most bizaar ever caught on tape. (Be warned if you are faint of heart: it is a bit graphic.)

So there you have it, one lucky turkey off to a petting zoo or some other comfy life, and two other not so lucky turkeys slaughtered right behind Sarah Palin as she cheerfully smiles and talks, and talks, and talks.

I have no delusion about where turkey dinners really come from - but when you are "staging" a pardon for a turkey, don't you think it would just be common sense that it was not the moment to also film the slaughter of other turkeys?

The other tidbit about this interview - the cameraman ASKED Palin about moving and told her what was behind her BEFORE they started the interveiw, but she said it was ok - so you can't even say she was unaware. (Reported by Rachel Maddow 11/20 and Morning Joe 11/21 and several other reliable news sources, so don't believe Palin's lies after the event when she heard how badly folks were taking the event - Palin decide to lie and blame the news crew for the scene.)

I find it so ironic - it's like a metaphor or an analogy for the whole Republican party - stage some big media event to look all warm, family friendly, and forgiving (i.e. pardon a turkey) - but in reality what is going on behind your back - grind up the constitution, human rights, our environment, integrity, and leave the American people a bloody mess and every one running around like a chicken with their head cut off, but the Republican officials (i.e. Palin) just smile and keep on talking pretty (believing no one will no notice the carnage they are really doing).

Sarah Palin In 2012 No Way or Maybe Yes

I came across a very good article that points out the Five Reasons Sarah Palin Will Not Be the Republican Presidential Candidate in 2012. After reading it I felt relieved that others were also seeing the obvious - such as there are much better candidates out there, Sarah Palin could not avoid direct questions from the press and her lack of qualifications would be glaringly obvious, she has a ton of skeltons in her closet that are very serious concerns.

I'm a Democratic, will probably always be one and always vote that way. But if a qualified Republican, who was honest and did the best they could for the protection and betterment of our country, and didn't force their religion down every one's throat were to get elected, that would be just fine with me too - the problem is I'm not sure there are any at this point. Even the one's who "seem" to be ok, could be turned to the dark side the same way McCain did when he sold his soul and trashed his ethics.

What concerns me are the Republicans who have no conscience, very little regard for ethics and the Constitution (i.e. Bush, Cheney, and Sarah Palin to name just a few), and who have has their primary goal greed and power only for themselves and big corporations they are connected to, all topped with a religious fanaticism that wants to control the world. These types of Repbulicans getting into power again scare the heck out of me.

However, Palin in 2012 could be a maybe. There is this email message from a stategist for a rival Republican "Fine with us. Let her [Sarah Palin] be the sacrificial lamb for 2012." It seems that Republicans with an eye for the White House could be looking further ahead to 2016, realizing that 2012 would be a very daunting task to win by beating an incumbant president.

Perhaps they have to wait that long for a serious run at the White House because it will take them 8 years to grow a Bush and Cheney clone so they have to wait until 2016 before trying to take over the world again and enslave every one to their religious beliefs and bigotry.

Either way I'm not taking my eye off Sarah Palin or any of them. What they can't destroy first hand and directly from the White House, they will continue to try and destroy by spreading their lies, hate, and destruction from the outside.

OH NO!!!!! LOST ALL MY OBAMA POSTS!!!!

I was trying to fix my labels and clicked on the wrong thing and now I've lost 50 posts all dedicated to Obama.

I'm so upset I just want to weep. *sigh*

I doubt I will have the energy to even begin to gather up what was lost and I know I can't recreate most of it.

I'm so totally bummed.

Sarah Palin Is No Where To Be Found

What a lovely day, a Sarah Palin interview-free day! Finally!

One tidbit of news from the The Republican Governors Association, after their annual meeting concluded Thursday in Miami they announced the new leadership lineup. Sarah Palin's name is no where to be found on the list. Excerpt: "Some Republican governors grumbled to CNN that Palin’s presence at the meeting distracted from the broader display of unity they were seeking. An unnamed GOP governor and possible 2012 contender told CNN that a joint press conference on Thursday was “odd” and “weird” and said it “unfortunately sent a message that she [Sarah Palin] was the de facto leader of the party.”

Perhaps now that she has been judged by her peers (fellow Republican govenors) to not be qualified for a leadership role, Sarah Palin will return to Alaska, where hopefully the folks in Alaska can do a complete investigation and undercover the truth about her (i.e., how did she get her house built for free?).
