Take This Job and Shove It!

Rants and Raves, Work - No Comments » - Posted on January, 7 at 10:28 pm

That is exactly what I feel like telling my boss tomorrow. I want to call them up and say “I’m not coming in today, or tomorrow, or the day after that. You know why? Because I quit!” :grr: I’m still so incensed with them. It would probably help if I explain why it is I’m pissed off, right?

Apparently our client, Wells Fargo, cut back on our hours because we weren’t hitting the hours. Frankly I think that’s management’s fault, big time. They know how many people they have working, how many trainees are coming in and they know that out of a class of, say ten trainees, not even half will last the entire week. That said, when it comes to promising hours to a client, do you calculate a reasonable amount of hours that takes into consideration the trainees who will never come back, the current workers, and the possibility of callouts or do you just pick a number that sounds good to the client, regardless of whether you can meet it or not? Yeah, guess which one they tend to do.

So as a result, the client cut back the hours we get. As I mentioned before, I got out early Monday and we were told to come in from 4 to 9pm for the rest of the week versus the normal 3 to 9:30pm. Now get this, because our sales were down, it was an off day all around for everyone, management is worried about productivity now. So if you hadn’t made a sale in two hours you got sent home early today. Since they pulling me off the sales floor for business breaks (meetings) they gave me an extra thirty minutes. I was in a call, didn’t get the sale and just as I was ready to take another call I was told to log off and head to the office. Guess who got sent home at 6:30pm? Yeah, me. What pisses me off is that just yesterday, as one of the top performers, I would not have to worry about being sent home early especially given the distance I have to drive. LIARS! They did it to me anyway. I was a top performer yesterday but clearly that doesn’t mean jack shit to these bastards.

So in short, I drove a round trip of 85 miles for two hours of work.

Then, as I’m leaving, they have the nerve to tell me “Thank you! Have a good night and we’ll see you tomorrow!”

I was so tempted to say “Not likely.” But I didn’t.

The shit is, we have to really bring up the production as well as hit the smaller allotment of hours as well so that, hopefully, next week Wells Fargo gives us more hours. So for the rest of the week they’re going to be doing this shit. Should I even bother going in to work at all this week? I mean gas prices have come down, sure, but it’s still not that cheap. Especially not for just two hours worth of pay and a whole lot of grief.

Utterly Embarrassing

Rants and Raves, Work - 1 Comment » - Posted on January, 6 at 1:20 pm

Last night was perhaps the most mortifying experiance I have had in a very, very long time. I swear I felt like I was an awkward preteen back in middle school.

My monthly visitor came Sunday, now normally that’s nothing to sweat. Annoying, yes, but hey, it’s life. You get used to it after x-amount of years. So before going to work on Monday I made sure to use a fresh tampon, that was around 2pm. Since I have such a light flow I knew I would be fine until the first break time at 5pm.

So I thought anyway.

For some reason my body decided to completely betray me and there I was stuck at work with a heavy flow and using a tampon for a light flow! It was a little after 3:30pm when I felt that tell-tale icky feeling. I logged off my station and bolted to the restroom as fast as I could, but the damage had already been done. After getting cleaned up I returned to my station, and seriously contemplated asking to leave early. But I just couldn’t bring myself to ask my boss. She has a very sarcastic demeanor and is definately not a sensitive person, at all. I mean hell, when I mentioned that I would be able to come in and work Christmas Eve after all, since my car was fixed and I wouldn’t have to try and find a ride for an ungodly morning shift, she actually did this utterly condescending golf clap and “Oh yay. Good for you” in a dry voice and smirking the whole time. :grr:

Since I don’t suffer from something like Plantar Fasciitis, which I could have said was acting up really bad and it was too painful for me to stay the rest of the night, I opted to say nothing to her. I would have rather gone up to one of the guy managers and explained the situation to them rather than tell her. But since she’s above them in the chain of command, it would have gotten to her regardless. I can just imagine her comments too. So for the rest of the night I felt awkward and fearful. I felt like everyone could tell and that at any minute I might overflow again, despite the fact that on break I walked over to the gas station and bought a box of Tampax Max.

Then to make matters worse, Wells Fargo cut our hours so we, the evening shift, got sent home early since the morning shift pretty much burnt through the required hours. We got sent home at 7:30pm. Today we don’t go in until 4pm when normally we go in at 3pm. I wonder if we’re going to be sent home early again? I hope not as I really need the money and hours right now.

Ugh, Tomorrow is Monday

Ramblings, Work - 2 Comments » - Posted on December, 29 at 1:44 am

Bleh. I’m glad that the job I currently have is allowing me to pay my bills, but really, I think I hate the job. It’s not that challenging for me and it’s almost as boring as sitting around and listening to those long and bland commercials on late night tv about term life insurance rates and various medical products whose side affects may include “vomiting, hair loss, nausea, rashes, blindness, and migraines”. I need something that challenges me! Okay sure, sometimes it can be difficult to get sales, but in truth, I still can’t bring myself to really give a damn about the job.

Does this make me a horrible person? I dunno, but my life seems to have come to a grinding halt and I’m stuck in the mud here. I’m sort of deathly afraid to step away from the secure right now to go on a limb for something new though. After all, while this job isn’t the best, it’s paying the bills. Which is ultimately better than trying to move elsewhere and look for better jobs that will actually challenge me.

Right?

New Layout at Brand New Day

N-I.net Network - 1 Comment » - Posted on December, 28 at 7:12 pm

Yup, that’s right, Brand New Day, my fanlisting for the science fiction television series Cleopatra 2525 has finally received a new look.

I’m actually rather ashamed to admit that I’ve had the screencaps needed for the new layout and new codes sitting on my laptop’s hard drive for several months now. Yeah, I took the screencaps back in June or so and planned to make some new codes but never got around to doing it. Then I had planned to make a new layout as well, but then I just kept putting it off. Eventually I got my butt in gear and put it all together in celebration of the new year that is upon us. Imagine, I opened that fanlisting up in November of ‘05 and it had the same layout until just recently.

I’m also converting it into a sort of fansite as well, so I’ll be adding pages and pages of content to it soon too. If you’re a fan of Cleopatra 2525 why not head on over and join today? :)

Now if only I could remember to get all of the images and videos off of my sd card and get them taken care of. Eh, one step at a time I suppose.
