Rebrand My New Report

Filed Under (General, Marketing Tips, Product & Site Launches) by Mieke on 27-12-2008

These last few days, I’ve been drowning in work. No wonder, since I’m working on several projects at a time. Me and my biz, we would probably profit more if I could stick to one particular project and work this out properly. But sometimes the ideas just keep coming…

As a result, I simply don’t have time to write a long blog post, yet I want to give you a little something - being Christmas and all ;-)

48houractionplan

The ‘48 Hour Action Plan - Your 2-Day Action Plan To Affiliate Profits‘ is my new step-by-step guide that will show you how to set up your own money-making website in less than 48 hours, without having any experience or a product of your own.

I’ve Been In IM Hell!

Filed Under (General, Marketing Tips) by Mieke on 15-12-2008

I’ve had my hosting company suspend my account seconds after launching my very first JV Giveaway event… I’ve experienced server crashes, and lost loads of important data - more than once… I’ve had smoke coming out of my pc, lost a couple of hard drives and there was one time I wasn’t able to see my own site from my own machine - for three long months.

Still, these last three days have been - by far - the most frustrating days in my entire marketing ‘career’…

Here’s what happened:

Due to a misunderstanding with my credit card company, my Aweber account got limited - maybe ‘blocked’ would be a better word to describe what happened, since I wasn’t able to send out messages, nor receive signups.

I have never felt this lost as long as I have been in IM.

I’m No Guru - Lol ;-)

Filed Under (Product & Site Launches) by Mieke on 29-11-2008

Today, I received a message in which I was asked to visit a site called ‘Rate Your Guru‘. More out of a feeling of disbelieve than out of curiosity, I clicked the link to check out the site.

Rate Your Guru

Once on the homepage, I was stunned: the site appeared to be everything I feared. All I could see on the home page was a list of names with under each name a 5-star rating system…

And maybe even worse… when I checked the list, I found my own name on it.

I resisted the feeling of leaving the site instantly - you know, simply click away and never return -, mostly because I was curious why someone would ever think of a creating a site like this…

On the ‘About’ page, I found this message:

My Twitter-Toolbox!

Filed Under (General, Marketing Tips) by Mieke on 22-11-2008

FollowMe
I’ve been Twittering away lately. Ever since I found out about Twhirl -a free desktop client that allows you to post messages to Twitter without having to visit and log in to the Twitter site - I’ve been able to see the fun & benefits of being an active ‘Tweeter’.

To me, Twitter has become more than just a way to promote my blogs & biz: it has proven to be an excellent resource for valuable info & sites, a great way to build relationships with other marketers ánd - last but not least - a channel to get a quick  answer to any questions I have. I found many of my fellow tweeters to be very friendly and always willing to help.

I’m still far from being a Twitter pro: there are millions of things about Twitter and how to optimize my tweets I still need to discover, but I’m learning new stuff every day. ;-)

My Site Hacked? I Guess I Had It Coming…

Filed Under (General, Wordpress) by Mieke on 16-11-2008

Yesterday morning, when I visited my JV giveaways site, I found a couple of big, scary eyes on a black background staring at me. Above them, a piece of text telling me the site had been hacked…

Since I never had experienced a hack before, I didn’t really know what to do. To be honest, I always considered hacks to be something that only happened to other people. I instantly realized this was the price to pay for being so shortsighted.

Fortunately, it wasn’t that bad. It appeared someone had renamed my index-files in several folders and put his own index.htm file in place. I was able to solve the problem by deleting all new files and re-uploading my original files. You can’t imagine how happy I was that I had learned my lesson from all those previous server problems, and kept a backup of all my online files on my hard drive…

A Lazy Way Of Marketing

Filed Under (How-To, Marketing Tips, Product & Site Launches) by Mieke on 10-11-2008

Quick profit Video

Every so often, I receive a message with a question like

- How do I add a PayPal button to my site?
- How do I create a PDF- or a zip-file?
- How do I use Facebook?
- How do I register for a Clickbank account?
- …

These messages remind me of the fact that some things that I take for granted, are not obvious to those who are new to the Internet Marketing game.

After all, it hasn’t been that long since I was a so called ‘newbie’ too. When I just started online, I didn’t know about things like PayPal, or databases, or how to register a domain name… To learn the ropes, I kept my eyes open, and taught myself new stuff with every new action I took.

What The ‘Gurus’ Aren’t Telling You…

Filed Under (How-To, Product & Site Launches) by Mieke on 28-10-2008

Get More Buyers

Michael Rasmussen’s ‘Get More Buyers’-ecourse has just gone live.
I was one of the fortunate few  who has been able to check out the entire video course while it was in pre-launch, and I must say: I was impressed.

While I generally skip anything video-like (personally I think most videos are boring and take up too much of my precious time), I took some time off to watch M.R.’s video course - mostly because I’ve only just started to build a list buyers myself, and I can use all the tips I can get to make this list profitable.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised :-)

The videos are extremely easy-to-follow, even  if you are new to the listbuilding game, and - maybe even more important - they’re fun to watch. No guru telling you why he (or she) is so important and warning you that if you don’t follow the guidelines in the video, you’ll never be successful, but straight to the point info, spiced up with cool graphics and text effects. Nice one, Michael!

Kill The Guru

Filed Under (General, Marketing Tools, Product & Site Launches) by Mieke on 21-10-2008

Generally, I get the creeps whenever I hear the word ‘guru’, but this little game is the exception to the rule!
Check it out, it’s hilarious! (Not to mention a very cool marketing tool!)

I must warn you… it’s pretty addictive

How many Guru’s can you kill?

My top score:32 - Can You Beat It?

Guess The Value Of The Big Red Box And Win!

Filed Under (Product & Site Launches) by Mieke on 14-10-2008

Vince Tan and Ian Del Carmen are at it again…

They have gathered up 100 of the top marketers online and convinced them to put their ORIGINAL PAID products — products which they are still selling — into an enormous and valuable firesale package!

This firesale will go not go live until  November 18th, but you can already register yourself for a chance to win the entire firesale package - ánd some other extra stuff worth $1,500 (or more!) - by guessing its total value!

The 10 closest guess will win the entire package and a link of their choice in the BiggestFiresale.com customer area, which will be seeing a LOT of traffic and by itself is worth over $1,500!

Of course I’ve already put in my guess

Guess & Win
