Christmas Bell-the sound that pronounced the birth of Baby Jesus
Chrsitmas bells form an important part in the entire celebration of Christmas. While we know bells trigger season of festival they in fact symbolize the arrival or birth of infant Jesus.
Churches have their bells blended with tunes of Christmas season and most churches have the Jingle bells tune singing pep up the mood of the festival and it through years the song and the tune have been bringing joy to every person celebrating the American Christmas.
Ringing of bells is also an age-old tradition and some of the churches have the bells blended well into the Christmas songs and poems as well as messages. What more? Don’t we see the bells as part of Christmas decorations.
We do see every Christmas tree decorated with festoons including small bells as well. Indeed Christmas bells hold lot of significance for Christmas festive. There is also the story that the santa claus arrives ringing the Christmas bell and giving the world bag of goodies. So Christmas is no complete without bells!

Christmas Gifts for teachers
My niece came running to me asking for some nice Christmas gift ideas. When I asked whom she wanted to give, she told she wanted to gift her favorite teacher at school. I recalled my days when I worked as a middle school teacher and remembered my students gifting me for every Christmas. But a great majority of them used to be mundane stationery or coffee or tea samplers. I always appreciated students’ creativity in gifting me and told the same to her.
Even if it’s a small tote bag, let it be filled with some sweet goodies including a gift certificate to a bookstore, or a small replenish of classroom stationery.
I told her that a health spa voucher could be a great and a wonderful Christmas gift idea. And, if the child can draw well, she/he can draw a portrait of teacher and get it framed with a personalized quote of thanks for the teacher and give it as a gift to the teacher. Mini gift basket is another good idea. An eat out voucher to a great neighborhood restaurant or a massage therapy for the person who takes all efforts inside the classroom can be wonderful Christmas gifts for teachers.
Christmas Carols for Kids
I know Christmas festive is nothing if not kids are enthused, and if kids do not visit caroling. True Christmas carols transcend the feel of original American Christmas and I don’t get the feel that my Christmas is yet complete without listening to old carls. When my 5-year-old asked me to teach a carol I thought of teaching her the one that’s been my favorite all my childhood when I went around midnights and early in the morning caroling in my neighborhood. I thought it would be befitting to present those lyrics to my fellow Christians and other readers. The very famous Christmas song was written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Here goes the song…..
“I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And in despair I bowed my head:
“There is no peace on earth,” I said;
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The Wrong shall fail, the Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!”
Till, ringing singing, on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!
I also told my daughter that it’s a poem with seven stanzas; however, those stanzas that had mention of American Civil war were deleted and that we render it as a Christmas song after John Baptiste Calkin tuned to the meaningful stanzas. So are you teaching this to your kid?
Christmas Values
So, time of the year has come when we have to do the rush-hour shopping and every year while we shopped till we dropped, we are dropped in the truest sense when the credit card bills come into our hands post Christmas festive.
All the joy, peace, and fun we experienced while shopping for Christmas or gifting someone will almost melt into the thin air. As the fervor disappears we are cool and start retrospection of where things went wrong or went out of our hands and fallen into the hands of stupid credit cards .
My intent of this post is to help those of you who faced with such a situation during this time of the year. I had been a victim sometime back, but I am now a smart shopper. So I wish this post helps you!
So, if you experienced credit card debt bills piling every December during our Christmas shopping spree, it could be because we overspent than we actually planned. Believe me, debts can enslave anyone and we need to contain on piling debt bills while still not limiting the gifting option.
So do take all aspects of Christmas that render peace and joy. Jot ‘em down and review plan, remove expensive things especially if they do not express Christmas values like spirit of love and peace. After all Christmas means to spread the values of loving and giving. Do not get enticed by free lifetime credit cards. Just make sure you are not swiping the card too many times to buy Christmas gifts, because there can be so many Christmas gift ideas without you having to use plastic money at all.

A Special Visit for Christmas
A Christmas travel is always a part of my Christmas wish. I have often dreamt of spending Christmas in a foreign country and have a different Christmas experience. It is always fascinating to learn different traditions from people who are on the other side of the world practiced especially during the Christmas season. Imagine my surprise when my spouse told me what my 2008 Christmas gift would be?
A Christmas in Canada is probably the best Christmas gift I’d ever received from him, although, I went to Canada once as a child when my aunt gifted my father travel tickets to Canada. But this; however, would be my very first white Christmas along with my husband. My spouse migrated to Canada 2 years ago and this would be a great way for him to reunite with our darling kid and me.
Christmas shopping is the first on our list of activities after I received the news of travel to Canada. We plan to visit many beautiful places that Canada has to offer, dine out with my in-laws, and make sure our kid will enjoy every minute of our stay there. With our family together, spending quality time and having a great time, needless to say its gonna truly be the best Christmas day ever.
