WPTUT - Wordpress Tutorials: I have been messing around with this project on and off for the last few days.  I thought it would be great to have a site for people to submit there wordpress tutorial links and for others to have a resource to search for these tutorials.

How it works:
You can sign up add tutorials or save tutorials to your favs, vote, comment and search tutorials. You also get a profile page when you submit tutorials that list your tutorials and information. Also you can also submit tutorials as a guest if you prefer. All tutorials are a link back to your site, no tutorial is actually hosted on the WPTUT site.

Currently:
At this time the site is a little empty sense this is the 1st few days it is open and I have only shared the link with a few people. I encourage you to register and keep checking back or add your tutorials and build up the site, and register for the feed.

Hopefully in a few days I will do another post to update you on the current status of the site.

Must be something in the

There must be something in the water. To much sickness and death with in the past week. Last week I had the flu and it took about 5 days to get over. Today I had to pick my daughter up from school cause of an ear infections. Going to take her to the doctor in a little while,. She was crying that her ear hurt, but she’s sleeping on the couch at the moment. Then today after picking her up and called my mother and my uncle had passed away. He is the third person in a week that I know that has passed, and also had one of my pet turtles pass away after 13 years, My daughter was really upset about that. There is something just not right with this past week.

I know I still have not updated the site in a while. To much going on during the warm months. I would rather not be stuck in the house and sense I keep my daughter everyday, we are usually at the park, the mall, or doing something besides sitting around the house. To bad that the cold weather will be here in a few weeks and we will have to come up with some ideas to keep us entertained inside for a few months. Then at night I have been trying to work and do some freelance web work and hope I can pay the bills sense a grant I applied for did not go though for next year on a project I was going to work on for a conservation website for PA. So off to plan b to try and find private funding. We shall see how that goes.

O well. Hope everyone that reads this is doing a little better this week that the bad luck here.

New Computer

My new computer finally arrived yesterday, after my old one died by lightning. Fun stuff to have to reinstall all the programs I had, then I don’t even remember half of the stuff I had on my old one. The new computer is a Dell Inspiration 530s and I decided to do a serious upgrade form my last one so this one has like 650 gig hard drive and 3 gigs of ram.

I still have lots of information stored on my old hard drives and it seems that my new computer is SATA and not IDE so now I have to go find a converter to get some of my old information off the other drives. I can’t imagin how long its going to take to get everything reinstalled and moved over to the new system. I’m sure the next few days will be filled with lots of fun.

So far I do like the new system. Runs faster than the old one that’s for sure. Now I have to get use to Vista sense i have never used it. A little different than XP but not by to much.

In some other news I did win a design contest over at Josh Whitford for his business card design contest. A good thing cause I need all the money I can to pay off this new computer.

Why its good to.

Hey everyone. Hope all is going well. I got back from South Carolina with my daughter last Monday. I have been catching up on a lot of other things that needed my attention. Our trip went well and we both had a blast. Spent time with family, went camping at the beach with my mom and step-dad, and just had time to unwind and relax.

So now the bad part is that the other night lightning struck my computer. Yes the reason for the title “Why it’s good to”… Unplug your computer when it’s storming outside. No the lightning did not strike the line outside or the house that would have been nice cause the breakers would have threw. NO the lightning actually hit my computer. How bad does that suck????? So that is a nice little lesson to learn. My new computer was ordered the next day and should be here in a week. I am borrowing a friends laptop for now, so I might not be back in full swing for another week. Mainly using this computer for email and whatnot.

Switching to OIO Publisher

I have finally got around to installing the OIO Publisher Plugin the other day. I have had it sitting on my computers desktop for over a month sense I got it when there was a discount code floating around at that time, so i got it for like $20. I had to wait for a few Adtoll ads to run there time before I wanted to make the switch. I have always hear a lot about the plugin so I figured it was worth the money to try it out.

A cheap way to book flights.

I have been looking for a cheap way to fly home to SC at the beginning of June. Let me tell you Plane Tickets are a Rip Off. For my and my daughter to fly 500 miles/1000 round trip it was going to cost over $700. Unbelievable. Two years ago we both flew the same trip for like $450. I tried every single Flight Booking site out there and all of them were ranging from $650 to $750 for the flights I wanted to take. I know it’s probably the time we are going, and that I am only booking 3 weeks in advance.

Sitehoppin to up beer stock price.

By the end of the month Max from Sitehoppin is planning to boost up the price of Beer Stocks. The price could jump up from $1 a letter to $10 and from $10 a vowel to $20. This move I think might be a good idea, as I have though from the beginning they were pretty low. What will this do for the site? I think it is a good way to get the Beer Stock Market moving and to have some sales start going through.

A good printing place?

I have been working on another project of mine and getting it up and running. One of the things I have done so far is ordered a few business cards from two different print companies Vista Print and GotPrint. Both companies I was really happy with the quality and pricing, except shipping that seemed a bit high at each place. I am not sure if a local printer would have the same low price, but may even out from not paying the shipping cost.
