Keeping Track of Time with a New Watch

November 25th, 2008 -- Posted in Misc | 5 Comments »

One of the most overwhelming things about living with a chronic illness is the amount of medication. It can be very overwhelming trying to figure out when to take your medication. Someone with a chronic illness has to keep track of medication times. A great gift for someone with a chronic illness would be one of the nice Seiko Watches . The watch would help them keep track of time. I know myself I’ve forgotten to take medication on time a lot. So I had to set up system of when to take my medication. I have a routine to when I take my medications. It helps me to wear a watch. I have a Seiko watch that has a black leather watch band and a gold face. The watch has only lost time when I needed to replace the batteries. I took the watch to my local jeweler to replace the battery and it worked as good as new. I would purchase this kind of watch again and again. Its really stood the test of time. If I was to buy a new Casio I would purchase the Ladies Baby G because of its style and colors. I think it’s a good conversation piece.

A Mixture of Updates with Life with Lupus

November 25th, 2008 -- Posted in Life with Lupus, Parenting | 1 Comment »

Today we had to take the car to have an oil change and have a couple of light bulbs replaced. Its hard to find a good mechanic that fixes cars right. I am glad that its over with because its over due. I have felt really tired lately which I think is because of my antibiotic. I will be so glad to be finished with the antibiotic. It takes really nasty. I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is a few days away. Before long this year will be over and another year will be bestowed upon us. I can’t believe 2009 is around the corner.

Do you believe is making new years resoulutions?

Buying a New Vehicle

November 22nd, 2008 -- Posted in Misc | 4 Comments »

Deciding which vehicle to purchase on a car lot is a very difficult decision. The most important thing to consider is the monthly payment and how much money you have as a down payment. Then there is the tag and insurance for the vehicle. My last vehicle was a SUV. I really liked my SUV because it had plenty of room in it. This was important because my daughter was small and I use to take her bicycle with us a lot. We use to enjoy going to park together for bicycle rides. It was very easy to put all her stuff in the back of the SUV. The space inside the SUV is something I miss a lot. It’s nice to have them to travel also. The Ford Expedition is a nice SUV. It has a lot more space inside then my old SUV. The amounts of functions inside the ford expedition are very nice. The leather interior is kid friendly which makes for easy clean up. This SUV really has a lot of great features. When I had my SUV I liked being able to see over the other cars in front of me. This was really helpful when I was stuck in a traffic jam on the way home. I really miss having a vehicle that had plenty of space inside for traveling.

Preparing for Thanksgiving

November 22nd, 2008 -- Posted in Life with Lupus, Parenting, homeschooling | No Comments »

My daughter and I are taking a break from school this week. I have been looking foward to taking a break during Thanksgiving. In public schools they don’t give the kids a week of school. I bought some stuff to make chocolate chip cookies with my daughter. I hope I have enough strength to make cookies with her. We enjoy doing small things together. I am limited so we try to do what we can together. Today she is at her volunteer job which she does every week. When she first started volunteering she wasn’t sure she’d like it, but she really does love it now. Its funny because she does not like reading at all, but loves to volunteer at the library. I hope I don’t have a flare this week. I hope everyone has a safe Holiday. Happy Thanksgiving.

Staying Warm in the Winter

November 20th, 2008 -- Posted in Misc | 2 Comments »

Trying to stay warm with a chronic illness is not an easy thing to do. I find it easiest to stay warm by wearing layers, but even then I can not stay warm. I have been pretty experimental about trying to stay warm. I spend a lot of times under a blanket or 2 blankets. In the future I may have to purchase new floors. My carpet and linoleum floors have seen better days. When I get floors I plan on getting wooden floors through out my home. I may get radiant floor heat for under my wooden floors. It will be a while before I can buy new floors for my home. Having heated floors would really be nice when I get out of the bath tub and get up in the morning. My feet would not be as cold. radiant floor heating help save money on the electric bill because warm air rises. Now you can install radiant heat by yourself with easy to install floors. I wish I could have these kinds of floors this year, but I can not afford these types of floors. You can easily install these floors under wood, laminate, and tile floors. I don’t like winter so these floors would really help me.

Christmas is Around the Corner

November 20th, 2008 -- Posted in Life, Life with Lupus | 1 Comment »

Its hard to believe Christmas is around the corner. I have not started any Chrsitmas shopping and not looking foward to Christmas shopping. Its very hard to decide what to buy for Christmas gifts when you have a limited budget. I can only hope the stores have lots of great sales. Its hard to buy things for a teenager. I will proably buy some make up for her. I am feeling a little better tonight so that does help me. We had our first flurries today. Nothing stuck so that’s a good thing. I hate to say this, but I can not wait for Spring to return. I love to enjoy my garden in the spring. It nice seeing things bloom and the birds sing.

Finding Your Inner Beauty

November 20th, 2008 -- Posted in Misc | No Comments »

Feeling beautiful while living with a chronic illness is very difficult. It’s hard enough some days just pulling myself out of the bed. I know some days I have all intention on putting on a little make up, but forget to put it on. I went a whole week putting on my make up and that was a real feat. Dealing with depression makes it difficult to feel beautiful. I can only wear certain brands of make up. Finding your inner Youthology helps you feel younger and look younger. Checking out the reviews of different make up helps you decide which kind of make up to wear. You can look at the brands you like and decide which make up you can afford. I know I try to stay with natural make ups. Everyone has their own choice on what kind of make up to wear.

Another Medication to add to the Mix

November 20th, 2008 -- Posted in Doctors Visit, Life with Lupus, Lupus Rant | 2 Comments »

A couple of days I went to the doctor I am on an antibiotic.  I hate going to the doctor for medications like I need another medication. So I started my 10 days of taking antibiotic yesterday. I hate medications, but where would we be without them. I will be glad when I am finished with the antibiotic. I have had a really rough week spent a lot of time laying down because of a flare. Its days like this when I really appreciate my lap top computer. I have my feet up which is something I have to do most of the time. Happy Thursday to Everyone. :)
