    Tinea pedis (or Tines pedis) is caused by a fungus called dermatophytes, a fungal infection on the foot which lives on the skin’s dead cells. It is a contagious skin infection that occurs mainly between the toe fingers.

    Symptoms of Tinea Pedis

    The most common symptom of Tinea pedis is the itching between the toe fingers. Sometimes white lesions and moist appears between the toe fingers. The patient may experience a burning sensation in their toes, and may suffer from blisters and inflammation of the skin. Redness and traces of scales are visible and this may also create a pungent smell from the toe.

    Causes of Tinea Pedis

    Tinea pedis fungus thrives most on places with high humidity conditions. They are mostly found on feet because of the enclose space between the footwear and the feet, and unsanitary public places like swimming pool, showers, and bathrooms provides a suitable environment for the fungus to grow. Sharing socks or shoes with an infected person will allow the transfer disease. Infection may also occur through pet interaction for there are instances that they carry the fungus on their fur.

    Treatment / Home Remedies for Tinea Pedis

    White Vinegar:
    Make a solution made of one part of white vinegar to four parts of water is as effective as a commercially available anti-fungal powder. Soak your feet to it for 20 to 30 minutes twice day, and then sprinkle a proper amount of baking soda in your feet, focusing mainly between your toe fingers to target those hidden areas susceptible to the disease. Rinse your feet after fifteen minutes.

    Tea Tree Oil:
    Rub a generous amount of tea tree oil in between your toe finger for it contains antifungal properties.

    Antiseptic mouthwash:
    Soak your feet in an antiseptic mouthwash such as Listerine for immediate relief from itching or burning,

    Cornstarch:
    Sprinkle some cornstarch in your feet to keep your fingers dry. Cornstarch is effective in soaking moisture

    Diet Suggestions for Tinea Pedis


    Avoid eating bakery products and products that have high yeast content.

    Avoid alcohol, sugar, sodas and grains.

    Have a healthy and balanced diet by avoiding fried, greasy and processed foods and switching to a diet consisting of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables.

    You can eat raw garlic or include it in when you’re preparing your meals since garlic has a good anti-fungal property

    Further Suggestions for Tinea Pedis

    Always keep your feet dry by using antiperspirant or hair dryer rather than towels when drying your feet. Use anti-fungal powder rather than creams.

    Choose socks that are made of cotton.

    Clean your shoes from inside using a paper or a cotton cloth. Use only footwear made of natural fibers.

    Use mild soaps instead of deodorants when washing your feet.

    Apthuos Ulcer

    Apthuos ulcer or Apthuos Stomatitis is an ulcer found in the lining of the mouth. It is also one of the most common causes of mouth sores. They are often painful and will cause discomfort while eating or talking. Although it’s not contagious, no one is exempted from getting this disease and it may come back even after it’s already been treated or healed.

    Symptoms of Apthuos Ulcer

    A burning or tingling sensation can be felt before a small, reddish sores appears. It measures less than 10 mm and targets the movable parts inside the mouth such as the tongue. A ruptured sore is covered with a yellowish coat surrounded by a reddish color.

    Swollen lymph nodes, listlessness and are some of the other symptoms concerning Apthous Ulcer.

    Causes Apthuos Ulcer

    Actual causes are not yet authenticated. Conditions that may trigger the effect of Apthous Ulcer are unstable immune system, minor injuries inside the mouth caused by eating tough foods such as chips and nuts, or by biting the interior of the mouth.

    Certain food allergies, bacterial infections, gastrointestinal tract-related diseases, gene transfer though heredity, hormonal imbalance caused by menstrual period for women, zinc, iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies and traumas caused by previous accidents also constitute to getting Apthous Ulcer.

    Treatments / Home Remedies for Apthuos Ulcer

    Aloe vera:
    Aloe juice could make an excellent mouthwash.

    Baking soda:
    Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a half cup of warm water. Rinse your mouth with it several times a day to get rid of the sores.

    Grapefruit:
    Put 5-6 drops of grapefruit seed extracts in a glass of water. Use this excellent disinfectant for rinsing at least once a day.

    Hydrogen peroxide:
    Mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 3 parts water and use this as mouthwash twice a day.

    Plum: Make a plum juice extract. You can use a cotton ball to apply when the condition is worse than normal.

    Soda:
    Mix 1 teaspoon soda and a pinch of salt in a cup of warm water. Use it to gargle your mouth and reduce the soreness.

    Goldenseal:
    Make a mouthwash by mixing ½ Goldenseal powder, ¼ tsp salt to a cup of warm water. Or you can apply it directly to your mouth in powder form.

    Alum:
    Applying alum on the sores twice a day will help relieve the pain and speeds up healing.

    Baking powder:
    Applying baking powder will help reduce the presence of bacteria in the affected area. Use it in either powdered or in paste form.

    Onion:
    Rubbing raw onions are an excellent remedy for Apthous Ulcer.

    Papaya: For instant relief, eat a slice of fresh papaya or chew some of its leaves. There are also papaya tablets that can use as a substitute.

    Tea tree oil:
    Rub a fairly amount of tea tree oil to the sores.

    Diet Suggestions for Apthuos Ulcer

    Include whole grains and green leafy vegetables in your every meal for they are good sources of vitamin B which greatly help relieve Apthous Ulcer.

    At the same time, choose foods that are easy to digest by lightly cooking vegetables and grains.

    Yogurt are not only tasty, but also healthy food supplement. It contains Active acidophilus in which helps cure and prevent an outbreak of Apthous Ulcer.

    Food to avoid while having Apthuos Ulcer:

    1. Coffee, citrus fruits and as they may irritate your mouth.
    2. Spicy and acidic foods will increase the pain.
    3. Chips, wafers and nuts.
    4. Diary products, salty, sweet and oily foods, and animal protein from meats.

    Other Suggestions for Apthuos Ulcer

    Learn to take your meals slowly by chewing in a timely manner so as not to aggravate your mouth’s condition.

    Don’t forget to brush your teeth after every meal.

    When experiencing pain, apply ice directly to the sores.

    Mononucleosis

    Mononucleosis is an infectious disease it is also refers to as kissing disease. Virus that causes mono can be transmitted through saliva; it means anyone can get it through kissing. Virus can spread to by means of cough or sneeze, or by sharing a glass or food utensil with someone who has the virus. Although contagious, mononucleosis isn’t as contagious as like some infections, such as common cold.

    Symptoms of Mononucleosis

    Symptoms may include:

    • Fever
    • Fatigue
    • Weakness
    • Headache
    • Skin rash
    • Sore throat
    • Night sweats
    • Swollen tonsils
    • Loss of appetite
    • Soft, swollen spleen
    • Swollen lymph nodes in neck and armpits

    The virus incubates from four to eight weeks, shorter incubation period occurs in children. Fever and sore throat usually subsides within a couple of weeks, but fatigue, enlarged lymph nodes and a swollen spleen may stay for few more weeks.

    Causes of Mononucleosis

    The main cause of mononucleosis is Epstein-Barr virus; this has similar symptoms that are caused by cytomegalovirus.

    This type of illness is not very serious. Most of the adults have been exposed to the Epstein-Barr virus and have built up antibodies overtime. This made them immune and the said illness will not recur.

    Home Remedies for Mononucleosis

    Bergamot, Eucalyptus, and Lavender essential oils:
    Can be used as aromatherapy treatment, use extracts for a warm bath; this may help to relieve fatigue.

    Saltwater:
    Can be used as gargle

    Garlic:
    Eating garlic can help reducing chances of infections.

    Rest is he best remedy for mononucleosis. If diagnosed with mononucleosis, the patient is advised to take a good rest and complete sleep with good diet to combat further complications.

    Diet suggestions for Mononucleosis

    Eat four to six small meals every day
    Fruits and vegetables must be included in the diet
    Adequate amount of water must be consumed everyday to flush body toxins
    Avoid meat, saturated fats, caffeine and decaffeinated drinks.
    Avoid any stressful activities

    Other suggestion for Mononucleosis

    Wash hands regularly with antibacterial soaps.
    Avoid physical contacts with infected person
    Always maintain proper and good hygiene
    Don’t use other people toothbrush to avoid infections or spreading of virus
