Resolution

Rather than making new year's resolutions, why not set a single key goal for 100 days and then do everything in your power to achieve it? This way you'll (hopefully) accomplish 3 major goals a year, and you're less likely to burn out on the 15 things you set as new years resolutions?

Motivation

I find it hard to stay motivated when it seems like the world (or at least the financial world) is crashing all around us. The stock market is going crazy, but ultimately I've decided that the best thing I can do is to continue to eat well, take care of myself, and take a conservative approach to my financial situation. Therefore my personal plan is to continue to reduce my debt, save as much as I can by cutting expenses, and be vigilant at work and try to retain my job and improve my skills.

Learning to eat more vegetables

I've been trying to eat more vegetables and less starchy foods, especially at dinner. It's been a real struggle to find vegetables that I like, but I do feel better when I eat this way. I also have noticed that I'm not so hungry when I wake up if I avoid salty and sugary foods at night. That a bonus I suppose. My current goal is three servings of fruit and two of veggies each day.

Weight Tracking Tip

One of the things I enjoyed the most about The Hackers Diet (free online book here) was the idea of tracking my weight as a moving average. I know the book is full of math (which doesn't bother me, I'm a physicist), but the general idea is that you will continue to remain motivated if you can visually see your weight trending in the direction you want it to go. He has a bunch of excel tools that can help you create this chart easily, and the files are described in his book.

Do You Know Of Any Good Online Dieting Blogs

I'm in search of a few exercise and nutrition blog recommendations. I haven't had the time or energy to find any I like on my own yet, so I thought I would ask my readership if they have any recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

I believe in myself

I have a strong belief that I can do anything I want to. My problem with dieting is that I know it's mostly a behavioral issue. I simply need to retrain how I interact with food. That's why I like the Beck Diet plan, because it's all about changing my behavior.

This may also be why I get depressed if I fail to reach and maintain my goal. Since I know it's up to me, I'm also the cause of the failure. Everyone that succeeds fails though, so failure isn't the finish line for me.

100 pushup challenge

I'm thinking about doing the 100 pushup challenge. I've actually thought of pursuing this goal before I heard of this website, but I didn't have a good plan to achieve my goal. It seems rather unobtrusive to my existing workout schedule, and it might be a good thing to do right before dinner to curb my appetite.

Do you have any fitness goals at the moment? If so post a comment and let me know!
