Under construction!…. Sorta.

Posted: November 3, 2008 under Misc

Just wanted to let any readers know that I am still around. Just really busy with work these days!
I plan on working with the site a little bit, making a few small changes for now. Things like updating the rating system, changing some images and more. I want it to be a little more functional and easy for me as the administrator.

And I need to fix this damn comment spam issue I have been dealing with!

Beginner bike yes/no: Would be a great beginner bike

Reliability 1 to 10: 10
Reliability explained
:
I have had the bike for close to 4k Miles now within 1 year of owning and being the second owner. Still runs as good as the day I picked it up.

Performance 1 to 10: 9
Performance explained:
Performance is great, the front suspension is a little sloppy, but I hear can be stiffed up with a good set of stiffer springs in the forks.

Comfort 1 to 10: 10
Comfort explained:
Bike rides very comfortable, and can even be made more comfortable with upgraded seats.

Body looks/quality 1 to 10: 10
Looks/Quality explained:
The SV650 is a naked style bike, with the SV650S being a more faired bike. Its a style that you either like or you dont.

Things that have gone wrong:
Nothing.

Overall summary/Final comments about this bike:
I would recommend the bike to anyone first starting out, and those looking for a bike in general. Rides easy and the V-Twin motor on the bike engine brakes really good to help slow down if you get a little throttle happy. The bike is very forgiving on those rider mistakes.

Would you recommend this bike to someone else?: YES

I apologize to all the readers here. As you may have noticed I have not posted any reviews, updates or anything for a little while now. My new job has kept me quite busy, leaving me very little extra time to sit down and manage this site. However I will be working to get the site going again and encouraging new reviews and more.

Please continue to submit your reviews, I haven’t dissapeared!
I will try and have all reviews added within the week of their submissions.

Thank you, RidersReviews Admin

Would consider this a beginner bike. The 4 gears doesn’t help.

Comfort 1 to 10: 6
Comfort explained
:
little cramped for me, even though only 5′8

Body looks/quality 1 to 10: 7

decent looking, nothing special. Ugly handlebar setup

Things that have gone wrong:
nothing that I could have avoided with proper maintenance.

Overall summary/Final comments about this bike:
great beginner bike. Some will love the 4 speed gear box, some will hate it. Small, light, perfect for shorter riders as well. Enough power to get you around, not enough power for anyone with experience.
