The Engineer

Posted by: abelle   in daily dose of laughter

An engineer is standing outside the Pearly Gates.  ‘Sorry,’ St. Peter says, ‘but you’re in the wrong place.’  He snaps his fingers and the engineer ends up in hell.

Dissatisfied with the level of comfort there, the engineer starts making improvements.

One day, God phones Satan to ask how things are going.

‘Great,’ he answers.  ‘We’ve got central air and escalators now.  There’s no telling what that engineer will come up with next.’

‘You’ve got an engineer?’ God says.  ‘There’s been a mistake.  Send him back up here or I’ll sue.’

‘Yeah, right,’ Satan chuckles.  ‘Where are you going to find a lawyer?’

Yesterday had been a busy Monday. It was the first day of work after more than a week of holiday. Offices, banks and some stores are back in business. Classes from pre-school to college resume. I, myself, had to rush from one place to the other to pay this and that to avoid the peak of the Monday morning-first day of business-rush. And I succeeded. I finished everything – from taking Jeff to school to paying bills and insurances – in less than 3hours.

Last Saturday was great. As you know, it was Jeff’s birthday. My husband and I decided to give him money as a gift, instead of toys. He’s already 11 and we think that he has to learn how to budget an amount larger than his daily allowance. And everything went well! My husband and I gave him P1,100 (+/- $25). Why this amount? We just multiplied P100 to his age, which is 11.

Jeff was excited. We went to the mall and he asked me to take him to the toy store to find the Transformers toy he wanted. There are 2 Toy Kingdom stores, but both had run out of stock and the little man was really disappointed. Then he just decided to play some arcade games, and when we exchanged the tickets, he got this Spongebob stuffed toy!

that’s him sleeping . . . . .

He always wanted to have a silver ring, so he bought himself one from SilverWorks. After watching a movie and had our lunch, we went to Star City (a themed park) to experience Snow World and Dino Island (he’s fond of dinosaurs). We got back home at around 1am. Tiring but we had a great time. We just wish that Dario was here . . . . .

Anyway, I got a little surprise too late Sunday afternoon. As we were preparing to leave to buy some groceries, Jeff said, ‘Sa labas na din tayo mag-dinner, Ma. Blow out kita’ (Let’s have dinner outside, Ma. My treat). He has some money left so he said he’s paying this time. Of course I said yes ;)

And btw, if you are looking for some educational and fun gifts for kids, check out this magnet building set. They have something there depending on a child’s age.  If Jeff had seen this, for sure he will get something from Neo Shifters and Plasmaverse.  Nice website ;)

Merry Christmas!

. . . . . a blog make over for free.

Actually, this is an early birthday wish as well. Only in Silence turns one year old on Feb02, and what a wonderful Christmas and birthday gift a personalized theme will be! I wish some theme makers read this and grant my wish ;)

And in case I get more than one offer, I’ll be the happiest this holiday season!  I have nice personalized themes to change to anytime ;)

And . . . . . this Flip Ultra Video Camcorder!

Oldies but goodies . . . . .

Finally! After two long weeks, the washing machine is now working.

There was this washing machine repairman who went to our house to fix the dryer. The dryer was fixed, but he did something that made the water in the washer to not drain. I called him and texted him many times, but either he didn’t answer, or texted back saying he’ll come over the next day. This went on for over two weeks and he never came. To make a long story short, I decided to call another company and they got it fixed yesterday afternoon. This is why instead of tomorrow (I do the laundry every Saturday), I washed the clothes this morning while Jeff was at school enjoying their Christmas Party.

Few minutes later, one LBC guy came with the Starbucks planner I won at Lagawan. Here it is!

Thanks again, Audrey! ;)

And lastly, the two-week holiday vacation starts today! Yesterday was the last school day of 2008 and classes will resume on Jan05, 2009. Sweet! ;)
