Snowy Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday me and our DD woke up around 9am. Hubby told me that the service at the church will start at 10am. So I gave our DD her breakfast and did some morning cleaning up. Hubby took a shower and prepared our daughter's clothes. When hubby was done at the bathroom I gave our DD her bath and changed her. I am the one who change last. We were able to be at the church around 11am. When we got there, they were showing the Passion of the Christ movie. I've watched it before but every time I see a movie depicting Jesus Christ's life I can't help but cry. In total, the service was really good. Our DD was so behaved and even went to sleep for the most part.

After church, hubby decided to go to an American buffet near the Capital mall for our lunch. We passed by Staples also after lunch to check some office supplies. We were already about to go out of the parking lot when I saw a newly opened salon. I told hubby I needed to have my eyebrows done so I stopped by. Good thing there weren't many people inside I did not wait. I had my eyebrows done immediately. This is my first eyebrow waxing for almost two years it was already thick.

At 3pm we headed to a birthday party of our friend. On our way to their house the snowflakes started to come down. It was pouring already when we got to their house until we got home it was still pouring strongly. At the party, our DD was showing off. The theme of the party is disco and the music is non stop. Our DD was having a blast dancing as well. She is the only baby at the party so all the attention was with her. We went home passed 5pm and glad we did because the snow on the road thickened already.

Visit to Redmond

This morning when we woke up hubby decided to go for a drive. He said we are going to drive to Redmond to check out Microsoft campus. Since it was kinda raining in the morning I felt that we should just stay home. But he insisted and he don't want to just stay at home. I even told him that we need to rest and not drive for the first day of the year. But he won in the end. We left the apartment past 2pm. It was really a gloomy afternoon. Just by looking at the sky I know that our destination is raining. Sure enough when we approached Seattle area the rain is already pouring.

Since we left late, we also arrived in Redmond kind of late. We don't know where the Microsoft campus is so we just followed the sign and ended up at Redmond Town Center. The place is really neat. It features more than 110 shops; restaurant, entertainment, shopping, and lodging. The architectural design of the buildings are mixture of modern, brick buildings, and cobblestones plaza. We were not able to surf the entire place since it was raining and very cold. We will hopefully go back there and check more the area and what else they offer. And we have to print a map going to Microsoft campus also so we will not get lost

Great Coupon Source

I can't believe it's already 2009. The past year came by so quick. There are so many unforgettable events that happened last year all over the world. Here in the US we have the historical event that happened, the national election whom the people of America elected the first black President. We also experience natural calamities that left a lot of people devastated and hurting. But the biggest problem that affected the entire world is the global crisis. We are now in recession; job lost skyrocketed, the market is down and more foreclosure in the housing market.

Being a stay at home mother and wife, I need to help my husband in making sure we are somehow recession-proofed. This New Year we will have to do our budgeting in every purchase that we have to make. I am just glad that I can find a lot of ways to cut down our expenses. Like when doing groceries, there are coupons that we can use and we'll just have to patiently look for it. One great source of big discounts and excellent deals is the site 1-coupons.com. During the Black Friday 2008, I was able to save because I used coupons from them.

As early as this month, I need to plan ahead and list down stuff that we are planning to buy for this year, such as gadgets or electronics. For myself, I am looking into getting a Sony - VAIO Laptop with Intel Centrino Processor Technology - Nightfall Blue. My notebook needs to be fixed but hubby said it is best to buy a new one than fixing it. Included in my list will be Nintendo Wii Fit so I can exercise while at home and Samsung 920WM Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor since ours is a bulky 7 year old desktop monitor. Hopefully we will be able to save enough so within the year we will be able to get some of our wish list. I browsed through 1-coupons.com and the electronics that I listed have a corresponding coupon, so at least we will get a good deal on them. You should check them out too before you shop. It is really a big help in this time of credit crunch.

New Year at the Needle

Few more hours and it's 2009 already. Are you looking forward to it? Well, I know some other countries are already in 2009 and for us here, we still have 7 hours before the new year. Here in the Northwest the weather is not really that good. The passes have been snowing and we have rain, so much rain. The city of Seattle, as usual will meet the new year with a bang at the Space Needle. Last year there was a glitch during the fire works display. I hope this time it is smooth sailing. If you live in the Seattle area and would love to observe the New Year's at the Needle, they offer dinner at the restaurant on top of the needle. It would be a nice experience to do. Maybe, in the coming new years we will decide to be there :-) For now, we will just follow the count down on tv and watch the grand fireworks display.

Took this picture when we went there last month after Thanksgiving Day.

Grandfather Clocks

My husband always tells me that he wanted to own grandfather clock one day. I asked him why, and then he said that her parents owned one and he liked it very much. But due to financial need when he was still young, his parents sold it. He was sad when it was gone and he told himself that one day he will own one. When I was looking at 1-800-4clocks.com, they have different designs of grandfather clocks. I am thinking of saving enough money so I will be able to get one and give as gift to my husband on his birthday. I still have ample time to save and get it for him.

Grandfather clocks are really a nice piece to add in a home. It will give more homey appearance of the house. So, if you are interested to own one, visit 1-800-4clocks.com. They have wide selection of clocks; not only Grandfather clocks but also Mantel Clocks and Wall Clocks. I saw this Howard Miller Chateau Grandfather Clock that is on sale. Actually, all of their clocks are on sale, which is a good deal. Other deals you can get from them is 0% financing option, free shipping and free home set up in the US.

Doctor, Doctor, We Are Sick

It started with the husband. He was coughing and sneezing after he was exposed too much outside while it was snowing real hard two weeks ago. He was pushing the truck while I was at the wheel battling with being stuck in the snow. After Christmas our DD caught the virus and she got sick too starting Saturday. We brought her to the hospital for check up and it was found out she has ear infection on the right ear.

Now, I am the one who is under the weather as well. I haven't had enough sleep since Saturday so that also made my immune system low. I hope this will not get worst because I can't stand being sick.

Timesheet and Planning Software

When I was still working in the government back in the Philippines, I have been attending workshops in human resources and project management planning. One of the issues I learned during those workshops is the importance of proper implementation of rules and regulations especially on tracking employee's time sheets and making sure all their times are being accounted for. This will greatly help in billing and accounting of salaries and wages. Now, through the internet, I was able to encounter cost effective software, like timesheet and planning software that can greatly help organization to run their business. If you have a business and you have a hard time accounting your business operations, you can check out Atlantic Global, a leading innovator of business management software. They developed various software that will  help you operate your business effectively and efficiently. Check them now and become more proactive in the operation of your organization.

The Performer

We were at Barnes and Noble bookstore around two weeks ago. It was snowy outside so I dressed our DD with warm clothing, a tights, capri, mini skirt, long sleeve shirt and a knitted jacket. She was wearing her Gap boots too that get a lot of nice comments inside the stores that we went to. While inside the bookstore, hubby went to his section and I brought our DD in children's section. There wasn't much people in there, only couple of kids that was playing Thomas the train. Our DD was running around and then went up to the mini stage where they usually held the book reading. She went up there and just dancing around by herself.

I was calling her to come down but she wouldn't. She was going back and forth the whole mini stage as if she was performing something
