There is Probably No God
That is the statement that is being sold hardly in London, with posters and other advertising materials being plastered everywhere. Why the campaign to try to eradicate the knowledge of the existence of a God?
The entire message of the campaign reads,
"There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life"
But who is worrying? People with God in their lives need not worry, for it is God's word to believers not to worry because who can add another day in their lives by worrying. But Jesus promised that we cast our cares on Him. And whoever believes in Him shall be able to enjoy life because Jesus came that we may have life and have it to the full. (John 10:10).
I am not imposing my beliefs here. I believe in God, in Jesus His Son, and the resurrection. I believe that the bible is God's word. I am not denying these. In fact, I would like the whole world to know. I also don't judge unbelievers. It is not my job. God is the righteous Judge.
But what I can't understand is the effort to try to convince people that blatantly that there is no God. Is that a desperation attempt?
What do you think?

Tragedy for John Travolta's Family
Sunday, January 4, 2008, when all the world still has hang over from the New Year's celebration, the family of John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are mourning over the death of their 16-year-old son, Jett, who was found dead in their bathroom.
ett has had a history of a sickly childhood, such as seizures, and well, he may be like a time bomb just waiting when to explode.
Travolta is reportedly keeping silent about it until today, when he disclosed to the press that they are deeply grieving their loss. And it is understandable. It is hard enough to loss someone you love, especially if it is your own child.
I will be a mother soon, and it is only now that I am starting to understand the depth of a parents' love to their children. And I can only imagine the heartbreak this much have caused Travolta and his wife.
While the people may talk about what really happened at their home, maybe let us just allow the family to mourn peacefully. It is bad enough to loss one's child and having the press hound you in all sides.
Given the circumstances, I can only think that even the world's rich and famous are not immune to death and loss. It just goes to show that we are all human and no one is above the law of God and nature.

Monetize Your Blog

I got very nice news for the New Year! When I opened my mail last January 3, I learned that Paying Post has accepted my blog in their esteemed circle. Well this is great because this would be a great opportunity for me to monetize my blog in the coming year.
Simply, Paying Post is a site where you get paid to post. Sounds simple, huh? Well, because it is.
I learned about Paying Post from my sister in law in China who is also another avid blogger. She read about it somewhere and so I decided to try it out. But she is still yet to sign up because her blog is still young.
Anyway, it is actually very easy to join and start earning money from this site. You simply have to sign up in the site and submit your blog for verification. After a short period, you will get an e-mail informing you if your blog has passed the site's (or specifically their advertisers') requirements. For more information on how to do this, click here.
The site is very simple to navigate and the rules are very easy to understand. NO MASTER'S DEGREE REQUIRED, which I really don't like with other paid sites. I don't like complicated rules to read. And there is only one code needed to install in your blog in order to qualify for opportunities. But of course, as with any other site, do read the TOS before starting.
For the coming year and with the coming baby, I need another venue online to earn some spending money. And I think Paying Post is a good way to start. Here I can stay at home and do this in my spare time.
So if you think your blog has the makings of a profitable venue, do check out Paying Post and who knows what the future holds for you in this site.

Predictions for 2009
As always, fortune tellers come out on TV every New Year as they get invited by talk shows. Then they give predictions about the country, including what may happen to the lives of some people, whether good or bad.
Whenever this happens, I change the channel. I don't want my life affected by predictions. I trust in God and in the knowledge that my life is in His Hands. And if ever I need help making decisions, I know that it is God's wisdom that will enable me, not the warnings of a seer.
I know that there are many people who believe in geomancers. I don't judge you, that is your prerogative. In my case, I would rather trust in the one true God who is not able to make mistakes. If I need help in my life, I would go to the One who created me, for He can best fix whatever is broken. If our gadget is broken, we go to the authorized service center of the company that made it. And so it is with my life, I will only go to the One who made me--only He knows what is best for me.
Happy New Year everyone! :-)

A Christmas Card from the Stock Market
This may be funny, but this graph has really caused a lot of pain to many people around the world over the past years. Sigh, at least we can find humour in that.

Health is Wealth

After being hospitalized for the second time this week (I just got out) and spending Christmas with a dextrose, I realized how important our health is. Health is indeed wealth.
One of the leading causes of health problems is overeating and obesity, which is why controlling one's weight is integral in the overall health of a person. Some people resort to drastic measures to lose weight, such as diet pills. But before taking anything, it is best to check out diet pill reviews and learn about testimonies of other people.
The search for the best diet pills has actually come to an end. In your search, I think that the best requisite would not only be effectivity, but quality standards and safety. I think the best diet pills that work would be those that are natural and organic, such as Proactol, which is 100% organic and has no known side effects. It is UK's leading weight loss supplement. I think it is just what I need after I give birth.

Another Round at the Hospital
Sorry guys, I just got home for the second time from the hospital. I was admitted around 3:30 am last December 24 and spent Christmas there with my dextrose.
My families and friends visited me throughout the day. There were lots of food and it was fun having guests around and I still have so much to be thankful for despite everything that has happen for the last two weeks.
The best thing is baby is okay and I have a very loving and supportive husband who has stuck with me all this time. My mother, too, has been my caregiver most of the time.
Now I'm home but still have to have my IV with me, I feel like a goat tied to a post. Im not the one typing this but my friend Alex is staying over to help nurse me back to health.
That's it for now Belated Merry Christmas to you all! :-)

Get your wish granted this Christmas
It is really my fantasy to give someone my wishes and getting them granted. It could be a genie in a lamp or Santa Claus, it doesn't matter, but it has been my childhood dream. I could think of the many things that I would want to wish for.
Anyway, indeed this Christmas, that fantasy of mine became a reality when I visited the site, SitonSantasLap.com. Well at least, virtually.
So, have you got a wish? Visit the site now and learn how it could come true.
First I was greeted by Santa and his elf and was asked to upload a copy of my photo. I uploaded a recent photo of my husband and myself while I am 6 months pregnant and in a matron of honor gown. It was a very pretty picture. Anyway, my photo appeared in a virtual picture frame. And then I was asked what was my wish was, and when I typed it in, my name and my wish appeared in Santa's wish book. Then my name got approved by an elf, saying that I was on the NICE LIST. Cool huh? Well at least I can say that my childhood fantasies came true.
Anyway, I would like to mention about the unique qualities of the CEIVA Digital Photo Frame. It is I think the easiest way to share photos to family members all over the world. CEIVAshare frames automatically display photos sent from far and wide--without needing a PC or an internet connection. Neat huh? This system will be greatly appreciated by those who were passed by the new technology, like our grandparents or other older relatives and friends, as all they need is an existing phone line connection in order to play and enjoy your photos.
By the way, the site also has this contest going on for residents of the United States and/or Washington DC. So after your dreamy session with Santa, don't forget to enter the sweepstakes. You must be at least 18 years old to enter. A winner of $500 will be chosen daily. So what are you waiting for? Visit the site now and have a Merry Christmas!

Christmas in the Hospital
my husband and I in my hospital bed...
You may be wondering what happened to me these past few days. Alright, my last blogging day was Thursday, Dec. 18. That very same day, I was admitted to the hospital for back pains, which turned out to be a kidney stone that was dislodged to my ureter, so it was causing me so much pain since Sunday. I tried to endure the pain and mask it with liniment, etc., but when I saw my OB-Gyne, she immediately recommended that I be hospitalized.
Anyway, thankfully, I was discharged today, Sunday, Dec. 21, with the stone still somewhere in my ureter. I was afraid that I will be spending Christmas in the hospital. I have been given medication so that hopefully the stone will just pass out my bladder. But well, I will still be enduring the pain until the stone passes out of my bladder. By the way, the stone is 7 mm in diameter and it is quite big for a very small ureter tube. Our budget for the baby's coming has already been tampered with....but I believe God will provide.
But the good thing is, baby is SAFE! Thank God! :-)
P.S. I got tagged by Lizzie, but I don't have time to do it. Well, I am just linking her here anyway. Thanks for remembering me girl! :-)

My Christmas Wish Coming True
Got a wish for this Christmas season? Would you like it to be granted this Christmas? I surely would!
That is why I checked out Sitonsantaslap.com, where I know my Christmas wish would be granted. The experience for me when I visited the site was truly surreal. Imagine having your childhood fantasies come true! :-)
I was greeted by Santa and his elves and I got to upload a really nice photo of my husband and I. And then I proceeded to key in my Christmas wish. My photo was framed and then after some high tech verification by an elf, I found my name on Santa's "NICE" list with my wish across it! And you know what I wished for? A laptop! :-) The CEIVA technology is really amazing! :-)
Anyway, I think that the CEIVAshare frames are the perfect gift this season, especially to family members far away from us. CEIVAshare frames automatically display photos sent from anywhere in the world without having a PC or an internet connection. This system will be greatly appreciated by those who are not so tech savvy, like grandparents, as they only need to connect to an existing phone line in order to play and enjoy your photos.
They also have this contest going on at the site for residents of the United States. And by the end of each contest day for this Christmas, a winner of a whopping $500 will be selected. Just visit the site for more details.

Winning $5 in Blog Christmas Giveaway
You may be wondering what happened to me these past days. Well, I have been experiencing excruciating back pains--not the type that occurs in the spine but rather a topical pain that exists in the muscles. Normally, it feels like a knotted muscle, but every few hours, I get "attacks" and pain is overrules the surrounding areas, up to the front side.
Been trying to rest from time to time, but yesterday, I was maid of honor in a wedding (at almost 6 months pregnant) and while I was trying to smile, I kept moving trying to find a suitable position for my aching back. Anyway, that was how I was been the past several days. So forgive me for not visiting you. After a visit to the chiropractor later, I hope to be feeling better.
Anyway, I just want to thank Ria of It's My Party. She sponsored a blog giveaway a couple of weeks back. She invited me but I forgot and then she reminded me a few days before the contest ended. I joined. It was very simple, I just had to guess the number of guinea pigs that were in the cage. There were of us who got the answer right. But guess what, through Random.Org, I was randomly chosen as the winner. :-) And the prize of $5 came at a time when I needed to go to a chiropractor whose single service costs around $6...Thank you Ria! :-) And God really knows our needs. :-) Below are Ria's pets. :-)

Becoming Secret Santa

In the United States, some people have taken the role of Secret Santa Claus seriously. They have set aside a huge amount of money, given $100-bills to anyone they see in public places that needs a good cheer. These bills are marked "Secret Santa."
This effort has uplifted many lives, if not literally, but at least their hope in life has been renewed that somebody out there is willing to help.
In my case, it is not being Secret Santa, because my priority is to help the people that God puts in my heart. Such as friends and family members who need it most. This year, the most pressing concern is a friend of mine whose family just got reunited after her husband was bailed out.
Anyway, if I wanted to be Secret Santa in Philippine context, the recipients would be those sidewalk vendors selling candies, gums, biscuits, etc. I would like to be able to buy them some stocks that they could still sell. That way, they can be able to sell these stuff without having to pay for capital. That would mean extra income for them.
I like this concept because it is helping people who are already helping themselves. This is sooo much better than just giving alms to beggars. These people just want to make a decent living. But this is their only means. I have seen some very old women still selling these stuff in street corners, enduring the heat and the smell of the city's pollution. Helping them this way may not be much, but at least they will feel that there are still some people who care for their plight. I am not sure if I can do it this Christmas though, much as I want to.
Anyway, how about you? What are your plans?
Read whole story here of the Secret Santa in the US.
The four places that I would love to visit would be:
1. Countries in Europe -- in particular, Sweden, Austria, England, France, Spain, Scotland and other historical and cultural sites.
2. Japan
3. Hawaii
4. the Holy Land - also Egypt and Greece...

WoolWorths UK's Last Sale Before Christmas
Customers line up during the last sale of Woolworths (Woolies) UK. Everything must go before Christmas--that is the aim, for this is the store's closing out sale. It was said that the sales generated from selling all their stuff will go to the payment of the company's loans.
What I feel bad for will be the displacement of more than 30,000 workers. Woolworth has been in the retail business for 99 years and sometimes I wonder, for stores this big, what could possibly bring them down?
I just hope that the displaced employees will be able to find other companies that will absorb them. But the older group will have to have an early retirement and be forced to find desperation measures. Although they may probably have separation pay, this won't last long as cost of living in UK is also very high.
I guess there is happy and a sad side to Christmas. This is one sad side to it.

Nick's Drake and Josh Christmas Movie Draws 8 million Viewers!
I really like Drake and Josh show on Nickelodeon because it is wholesome funny. But I am kinda worried about Drake because he has lost so much weight, and it seems he already wearing prosthesis on the show just to keep some of the body fat that he used to have. Anyway, I guess it is healthier for him (and better for his girl image) if he shed some weight, but I hope there is nothing drastic about it and it is not teenage angst that set it.
Anyway, congratulations Drake and Josh for a successful full-length Christmas movie! :-)

Give Yourself the Gift of Clear Vision--for LESS
Some people, even with their vision becoming blurred, would rather delay going to the optometrist, mostly because of the cost of consultation and the way overpriced glasses.
But thankfully, there is a more affordable alternative. And you don't need to spend your days with progressively blurring vision. Enjoy seeing the world in a clearer light with eyeglasses from Optical4Less.com.
Optical4less.com claims that they are prescription eyeglasses experts. And although they may have competitors, they say that they are at the forefront in producing quality eyeglasses. The good thing is, Optical4Less.com offers quality prescription eyeglasses starting at US$15! That is way sooooo cheap! And with that price, I can get my glasses in different styles and colors to match my mood and outfit. That is truly an upgrade to wearing a single pair for a couple of years! I don't think I will ever have my glasses done at my local maker ever again!
At Optical4Less.com, there are a lot of products to choose from, such as complete prescription eyeglasses (include Anti-reflective coating for free), tinted sunglasses, bifocal reading glasses, progressive reading eyeglasses, and photochromic sunglasses.
But what I am raving about is the virtual fitting. You can just upload your photo and fit different shapes and even colors! I think that is truly amazing for an optical website! Additionally, they also offer free worldwide shipping for two pairs and above. And eyeglasses arrive within a week.
So this Christmas, spend your bonus on what you really need--a new pair of quality eyeglasses.

Poll: Festival of Lights
Well, this is not about a literal Festival of Lights. It is just that the Christmas season brings out the cheer in most people, including business establishments, and they usually put up Christmas lights on different colors and formations to light up their business spaces.
My hubby went around and clicked on most interesting displays, but we haven't gotten to the more posh residential areas. For now, I will share some photos with you.
But we noticed that there are not too many stores now who put up Christmas lights, as compared to years past. Why do you think so? Please share your answer here and I will publish your choice, your name, and your link. Okay? So I hope you leave comments here.
A lot of businesses didn't put up Christmas lights display this year because:
a. Prices of Christmas lights have gone up - 0 -
b. Even if they can afford the lights, electricity rates have gone up - 1 - Virtual Writer,
c. For austerity measures - 0 -
d. All of the Above - 7 - Meili_Lo, Pilgrim, Ms. Donna, Anne Fallarme, Ria Stevenson, Kringle, Lizzie,

Santa Cops in the Philippines
In the spirit of the Christmas season, all posts will be related to Christmas. And this time, it is about the Santa Cops of the Philippines.
Members of the NCRPO have taken to the streets in their campaign against criminality during the Christmas season. It has been established that crime rates increase during the season, especially petty thefts.
To thwart the criminal elements from doing their trade, the cops have started the Santa Cops campaign--to increase police visibility and deter crimes in the streets and other crowded areas. But they decided on the Santa Cops theme in order to go with the spirit of the season.
But aside from thwarting criminal activity, the Santa Cops also help people, such as helping this old lady cross the street. They also give out candies to children. And sometimes, those in complete Santa costume, take time out to have a picture taking with interested kids.
People say that they feel safe with so many cops around. But let us all continue to pray for ours and our family's safety. ONLY GOD can completely protect us all our lives.
