I came across a great site today. Short sweet common sense commentary. In a world filled with left wing biased kooks, it is great to see a counter from the right. As a libra, I seek balance. As a thinker, I seek truth. Unfortunately you can not get that from most media outlets anymore, and you need to find counter points to their talking points. It is refreshing to see smaller blogs starting to lean right.
Political Conservatives is a fun little read. I did not spend too much time there, but I did book mark the site, and plan on subscribing to the RSS feed as soon as possible. It will be interesting to see if this site thrives under the new administration, or if it gets shut down. My guess is it is a mild annoyance to libtards and they have more pressing things to censor and shut down first. That could be good for this author. As the bigger blogs get put out of business, this one could gain a lot of readers.
Good luck to the authors at Political Conservatives. I look forward to reading more from them in the near future, and am happy that they are my first review in almost six months. Best of luck, and I consider this site a must read... especially for crap weasels. My guess is that these guys want freedom over security...

The Last Whale
Chris Pash, and Australian journalist, has a neat little site called the "The Last Whale". When he asked me to write a review for the site he told me that the idea behind the blog was to promote the book. I did not get that feeling when I was on the blog though. I got the feeling that this was a site set up by someone who wants to draw attention to a cause he is passionate about. I was refreshingly relieved that this was the case. I really hate cruising sites where people toot their own horns.
The articles on the site are serious in nature. Through them all the authors concerns about whaling come through. Whether you are serious about the issue of whaling or if your sentiments on the subject are summed up by that old ringer "Save the whales, harpoon a fat chick", you will find this site informative and at times entertaining. The information on whaling ranges from a little dry to down right disturbing. Either way I think you will find this an interesting read.
I wish that I had nothing but a shining review to give Mr. Pash, but sadly I can not. "The Last Whale" from a technical standpoint appears to have a nice clean layout at first. However towards the bottom of the page there seems to be just a randomness and disorganization unbecoming of a professional writer. Maybe this is the version of firefox that I am using, or perhaps it is another incompatibility somewhere... I hope that this is the case. Finally though, I found it hard to tell when the author was setting forth his own thoughts, or when he was quoting another source. Perhaps though, it is all original content (according to the author, it is all original content, this clears up a lot).
The layout issues aside, if the book is as clearly and concisely written as the blog, The Last Whale, when it comes out in October, is sure to be a good read. I guess when you get down to it, we are all on the blogosphere for the quality of the content and not necessarily the minor technical issues that sometimes come up...
Good job Mr. Pash.

I'm Back
To those of you who have been wondering when my next review would come, know that I am working on it. I had an adventure with my ISP and was not comfortable using my neighbor's unsecured connection to blog. Not that it matters at all to him I am sure... If he can not figure out how to secure his wireless broadcast, there is no way he knows how to check and see who is on his link.
Anyway... I will be back to a review or two a week real soon... You can read more about my adventure with my ISP here.

How-to Live Love Life
So is it cheating to review your wife's blog?
I just wonder how objective you can be when you are intimately involved with someone and you are asked to publicly critique their work... I guess I can not argue with her taste in men, although I believe she settled much too quickly... Lucky for me...
I guess, I just have to say I love the way that this blog developed. She was so excited to start blogging and the day she was approved for Pay Per Post she almost went completely nuts. She was learning how to do things, especially in the realm of HTML coding. She would alter the text of templates she would find on-line until she got the current header... Cute kid... Good thing he looks like his mother :).
Anyway, I wish I was allowed to spend more time on my wife's site. From her stories, to her reviews I find them all entertaining. Sure, her English is a little choppy at times, but considering that English is her third language she is doing an amazing job learning it. I can honestly say that I have been speaking English my entire life, and it still confuses the heck out of me... For those of us not fortunate enough to have been able to learn it from birth, I am sure with all its exceptions that it is a tremendously difficult language to learn...
Sadly, my Jo-Jo does not have a lot of time to blog any more. Hopefully she will be able to update the blog at least once a week, but I think a lot of that will depend on how much help her slacker of a husband gives her around the house...
If you have a chance, stop by and comment on Jonah's blog... We would both love to hear from you...

Jean's Musings
I am not sure why, but I really like well done personal blogs. I guess that there is just a bit of randomness to them that keeps things more spontaneous and more entertaining that those blogs that are out there for internet marketing, or for making money. Sure, those blogs are full of information, but after a while, they just get repetitive.
Jean's Musings is for the most part really well done. It reminds me of my own personal blog "Random Musings of a Deranged Soul". The writing gives you insight into the life of the author. Some of the posts force you to look at things from a broader perspective, others are just downright entertaining. From her first musing to the tree climbing goats, Jean's writings are simple, easy to read and entertaining.
As a professional writer, Jean has an advantage over most of us, and she takes full advantage of this. The layout of the blog is simple and professional looking. There is not much that distracts the reader from the writing (if that makes any sense at all). As a result of this simple layout, you can not help but focus on the content of the blog. For those of you personal bloggers looking for an example to follow, you have a decent model to follow.
HMMM... I guess it is time for my rating... On a scale of 1 - 10 this one gets really close to a perfect score. I would caution Jean though... A couple slow weeks, or posts where her writing skills are not fully utilized, and she could run the risk of losing some of her base... Overall though, I really liked the blog.
Best wishes Jean,

Hot Dorkage
Wanna know if your blog sucks?
That information, as well as a wealth of other things are available to you at Hot Dorkage. With a name like "Hot Dorkage" I expected a little more humor in the writings and reviews. I admit the articles were easy to follow and clear in their instructions, but aside from the occasional references to "meatspace" the humor, if there at all, was not easy to discern. Perhaps the humor is subtle and unless you are intimately familiar with the subject matter you will not be able to catch it, or perhaps I just did not spend enough time looking through the archives to find the humorous posts... I just don't know.
ANYWAY... I did find Hot Dorkage extremely informational. It is obvious to a newbie like me that the author knows her stuff and best of all knows how to communicate her main points to her readers. As someone relatively new to blogging I appreciate simple language and clear concise instructions. If that is what you are looking for, you will not be disappointed at Hot Dorkage. On a scale of 1 -5 with 5 being a perfect score, hot dorkage would receve a 4.873247900019999992 on my new completely nonsensical rating scale. In other words, I would highly recommend at least browsing the main page.
Best wishes to the author...
