start-by-renewing-your-healthYay!! It is a beginning of a New Year and we are bombarded with the weight loss and exercise commercials.  Not to mention the abundance of infomercials with the latest and greatest exercise equipment or exercise routine.

Amazing to see all these commercials and watch people rushing to the stores and purchasing exercise equipment because they have decided that this year, they will lose weight or get back in shape.

I have to giggle, because within a 30 days many of those same people will sell their exercise equipment at a yard sale or online.  Which is why I don’t make resolutions!

th_woman-cookingAnother year is here, and I have my menu listed for the next 2 weeks.

Although it took over 3 hours to clip coupons, organize my coupon book and determine my grocery list..my menu is finally done!!

I’m very excited because we are a cooking family and the kids love to be involved in the menu planning.  So, without further ado here is my 2 week menu:

Week 1

Monday - Big Basil Burgers w/baked beans and salad

Tuesday - Shrimp Gumbo w/white rice

Wednesday - Twice Baked Chicken w/red roasted potatoes and salad

I  know what you’re thinking Sucrets, ‘I’ve tried those little lozenges..so why is this different?’  How do I know you’re thinking those very words, well, because I thought the same words.

I remember taking the Sucrets lozenges whenever I had a sore throat and they truly worked, but my goal was to get something that my kids would take.  We usually don’t have many medical products in our home.  My kiddos are not used to taking medications, so I was very excited to try this new product by Sucrets.

Sucrets Ice is not only for children but adults will enjoy them as well.

You’ve heard the saying out with the old and in with the ….. well you can finish the sentence.  I believe it is …in with the ‘new’.

With another New Year approaching, many will resort to resolutions.  I however, do not resort to resolutions.  The reason is that resolutions don’t seem to last and are usually quickly forgotten.

I would rather make plans and set goals.  Every December I purchase a beautiful new planner and portfolio and set out to plan for the New Year.  I have filled in the month of January and will continue to fill in each month accordingly.  I like to use different highlighters to color code each goal.

659579_manger_sceneI am truly enjoying the Season!! Are you?

Unlike the many that are going crazy, and are stressed because of the commercialism that this Holi-day has….we are relaxed and enjoying the moment.

The reason for this season is to celebrate our Lord, who came to us as a babe, all along knowing that He would die for our sins.

Our family has a tradition of reading several books depicting the Story of Jesus.  We  read many of the other stories that my children also enjoy.  We  have a tradition of hanging ornaments on our Christmas tree, the twelve days before Christmas.  Each ornament has a story and bible verse leading to the birth of Jesus Christ.

1115634_grahams_2008_christmas_tree_2Can you believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away? I was in complete shock when I checked my calendar and realized how quickly this year has passed.

I live in awe of God’s grace on a daily basis.  I look at my beautiful children and am completely amazed and in wonder that I gave birth to them and how quickly they have grown.  My oldest son will turn 15 next week and it seems like only yesterday I was moving to Florida after graduating with a 2 year-old and him in my belly.  That just goes to show how quickly time flies.
