Home Security Systems

Feeling safe at home is top priority for me and my family. Having a home security system helped us feel secure when we would punch in those numbers on the keypad knowing that an alarm would go off if anyone tried to break into our home or if any of us had a medical emergency we’d just have to use the portable keypad to get us assistance right away.

home alarm systemWhen we would leave home we knew that our belongings and more important, our pets were safe too. Monitored home alarm systems help keep the bad guys away. If there was a fire, the Fire Department would be notified immediately too.

We had lightning strike our alarm system a while ago and with so many bills to catch up with and our daughter’s wedding coming up we still haven’t replaced our old security system. Every time we go away on vacation I am so worried about something happening to our home. Even though we tell our trusted neighbors, there is nothing like having 24 hour, 7 day per week monitoring of our home.

We also lost out on the savings we once had from our homeowners insurance by having a security system in place. This is one of the top priorities for us to take care of after the wedding is paid for. Having peace of mind is worth it.

Cyber Monday Online

More shopping? Can I handle it? I need to so I can get my Christmas list all done. Then I can pat myself on the back knowing that I didn’t have to leave my house to shop except to pick up some things that I had shipped to the store to save on shipping fees and I didn’t over spend at all. In fact I saved money and I’m almost done!

The good thing about Cyber Monday shopping is that it’s not going to be hectic. I won’t have to feel rushed and will have more time to browse and take it easy. I’m going to be checking out Buy.com USA, eBay’s $1 Holiday Doorbusters, and I’ll be checking out if anything pops up on Twitter.

I heard there’s going to be some sort of giveaway from people who have listed holiday guides on their blogs and websites but I can’t find the information right now.

Twittering My Life Away

Twitter is so addicting that I can’t stay away. Being online with my tweeps is not only a good time, it’s a way to connect and keep informed of what new plugins are hot, what new social networking sites have started, what contests are running, who just got hired by what PR firm, what is the latest and greatest and who needs help with something.

Connecting online through Twitter happens at real time. I’ve heard about the terrorist attacks first hand from someone in Mumbai on Twitter. I celebrated when the US won Olympic Gold in swimming on Twitter. I shared what it was like to see the space shuttle take off at night here in Florida on Twitter.
