Mia Angela is a restaurant I'd go to a lot more often if it were closer to my house. The food is good, but the atmosphere makes it enjoyable. This is an urban-hipster restaurant, and while I usually don't like this kind of place, it reminds me of America.
I've been there for dinner and for lunch. When I went for dinner I got the course which ran ¥4,000. Lunch was around ¥1,000.
There are three locations, but I'm just going to give one and the web address.

I have no idea of what this place is called, but it's a little hole-in-the-wall in between Kita Sendai and Kitayobancho. I've been meaning to go here for a long time. It was great. The place is owned by a family and their little girl was in the table behind us doing her homework.
We ordered: a beer, fried rice with shrimp, gyoza, and befun (ビーフン). It came to ¥2,250. I can't wait to go back.
I don't know the kanji for this one, but Ri-Kyu is perhaps the most famous gyu-tan restaurant here. This chain has a few restaurants around and the gyu-tan don (link) was one of the best Japanese meals I have ever eaten.
It's a little expensive with each meal costing about ¥1,000.
