So sad...

So sad to hear about John Travolta's 16 year old son who died on Friday as a result of his seizures. It really is scary how fast something like that can happen. Although he had a disorder, I guess you just never know when something bad might happen to your children. No person should ever have to bury a child. Now I am going to go run and hug mine even tighter.

Headless gingerbread men

Making Christmas cookies is one of my all time favorite things to do with the kids...but it gets messy, really messy.

This year was fun except some of our gingerbread men lost their heads....I am not sure what they did to deserve such a fate but may the rest in peace in my belly!

Ikea, Ikea

Oh Ikea, how do you do it?

You can fit a huge desk into to 2 medium sized boxes.

I spread out the insides and there lay a billion pieces with instructions that are merely just sketchy diagrams. I scratch my head...twice. Then I spend many, many hours screwing and clicking and binding (and sometimes taping).

Alas...my desk is put together but I have to marvel at it all.

Digressing

Wow, I can't believe it has been since Thanksgiving since I last posted here. What is going on? It could be the endless laundry piling up, the decorating, the mounds of work I am buried under, the bills, the mess the kids trail all over....ug. I am tired. Who knew we'd be so tired? Who knew we'd have so much responsibility. Can't I just give it to someone for a day? I want to be a little kid again, and let someone take care of me!!

Be careful...vapors ahead

Note to all those that spray cleaning products like crazy...be careful not to mix them.

Bleach + anything with ammonia = dangerous

The combination of these creates chlorine gas. Chlorine gas when inhaled will cause you to pass out (hopefully not in the bucket from whence made, otherwise death imminent). It basically causes asphyxiation. You will be strangled by the gas.

Lots of products in your home contain either of these chemicals. Always check the back before mixing or spraying one next to another. Always keep the windows open too when using them in small spaces. Children are highly affected by the vapors.
