My New Arrival!

Well, it has been a hectic week with the arrival of my new little friend.
Bonnies girl 3-14-8 born
Her name is Arista, and she is 7 months old now.

Penny-Boy & Bonnie-Girls
This is a picture of Arista in the middle, and Sophie, her sister is on the right..(The little one)

She is an AKC registered Papillon, often called the "Butterfly dog", because of the ears sticking up almost from birth. Papillion is French for butterfly also! This little pup is 7 months old, and weighs a big whopping 5.5 pounds. However, if you would like her to jump, she can jump a big whopping 6 feet, sometimes reminding me of a jumping jack. Although, you really need to watch their jumping, so they don't hurt themselves. By the breeder she was called Bonnie's girl, or Baby Doll, but I renamed her Arista, meaning "the best" in Greek. Papillons are very easy to teach, and they learn very quickly. Basically they behave very well, and have a great personality. They are also somewhat clown-like.

I already have a Hybrid Chinese Crested Powder puff/Papillon. The two seem to get along very well, even though both are females. But, they both always seem to fighting to be the dominant one. Sasha, my other dog is now about 2 years old, and weights about 7 pounds.

It is important to have a very good breeder if you would like to buy a well bred Papillon, so some of the prices are quick high. The breeder I used is a member of the AKC, and a well known Breeder here in AZ. Here is some information about this Breeder:

AZ Skidmore's Papillons Puppies Available! Males & females. AKC. Champion bloodlines. Show & pet quality. Tri & sable colors. Sometimes tiny. From Skoor, Kenmar, Cadoga and Glenmary lines. Call for more information & availability. Visit website: http://www.valspaps.com Arizona
Valerie Skidmore (480) 391-1593 / Email: vals_paps@lycos.com

Valerie just had two litters of different colors, which will be ready for a very nice Christmas present for your family, or yourself. Normally, her females go for about $1200 and the males $1000, however the best way to find out about them is to call her, or you can even email her. The great thing about buying a dog from Valerie is you can always call her if you have problems or questions about your new baby. She also is great about making sure you are satisfied about your choice of a new pup. If you would like a perfect pup, you would not be dissatisfied with one of hers.

Penny's pups 10-21-08

Now, if you go to the website on Webshots you will see some other dogs which are older, and they are less money than the brand new pups, accept for one female called Sophie who is $2500 because she is a teacup. There are also some Corgi/Papillon mix pups for sale and the females are $600, and the males are $400-$500. Below is two different pictures of them...they are quite cute if you can't afford a purebred Papillon. Just a note, all of the Skidmore pups, and adult dogs are AKC registered, with champion bloodlines.

Why Do I Feel This Way?

Sometimes there is a reason for feeling crummy, but when there isn't what do you do? What do you do when you feel sad, and nothing seems right? What happened to that courage that I had, but now is gone? I ask myself all these questions, because I am feeling sad, and am not sure as to why. It seems I don't feel like doing anything, blogging, digging, writing, playing games, nothing! I could just say I have 'writer's block', and call it quits for awhile. I do watch a lot of movies, however I have seen so many, one is running into the other...in other words, I forgot what I saw to begin with.

Yes, DO SOMETHING!! Okay, what? Well, I am asking myself what to do, and really should know...BUT....sometimes when your feeling sad, you forget all those wonderful things you do to get yourself out of a "slump". Hmm, yes a SLUMP...what is that? I think we all have been there, but where is there? *Check out this video below, at least I haven't lost my scense of humor.*

From MadTV called "My Slump"

Some of my other blogger friends handle their own slumps a certain ways, maybe I should ask for some advice. Kelly who writes the blog: "What This Song Means To Me...", has this great post named "Three Ways To Banish Negative Energy". She uses music to make herself feel better, this seems to be reasonable. Mike who writes the blog: "livelife365" which is about "Healthy Living Personal Development Entertainment Every Day Every Way". He wrote a post called: Just Do It? Ten Tips to Get You Started. This also is a great post to read when your feeling down and out. Another person, Dr. Rob has a blog called: Rob’s Megaphone which has to do with "Where laughter, fun, and writing intersect." Dr. Rob uses laughter to keep himself, and his readers from the slumps. (I just noticed he awarded me with an award, which I will check back later on. Thanks Rob!) Although there are many more, the last person I am going to mention here, is someone we fondly call 'Da Old Man', his blog is called: Crotchety Old Man Yells At Cars. He also uses humor like Dr.Rob! As you see, all my friends have their own way of keeping themself from going under, so what is wrong with me?

I guess I am reaching out here, and wondering if there is anyone out there that can help me figure this out. I should be able to do it myself, and not need help. However, I believe there comes a time when we ALL need some help. So here I am asking please........

The Night In A Haunted Cemetery!

Just a small bet between friends became the fright night of our lives. A small group of teens decided to make a bet with their four friends to spend the night at a known haunted cemetery. The bet wasn't for much, but to us $20 was a big chunk in our pockets, so we accepted, thinking it couldn't be that bad. I was one of those four. We made up some excuses for our parents so they wouldn't think anything of us spending the night out.

About 6PM as the sun was setting, the four of us wandered to the cemetery. We all were full of pride, because we kept thinking nothing bad will happen to any of us. We all started to look for a place to spend the night. A nice tree would be nice, and we all had sleeping bags, food to eat for the night, flashlights, and etc. We were full of excitement as night headed in. We didn't really believe all the hype about the cemetery being haunted. We finally found a nice place to settle down for the night, and with just a short bit of sunlight left, we were able to set everything up.

As night fell, in the distance we could hear an owl hooting, which sounded rather eerie, as the moonlight cast weird shadows upon the headstones of the graves. We had been told that we had to walk through the graveyard during the night, that we just couldn't sit there. So off we went walking from one grave to another. We still weren't scared, however the eeriness of the night was rather somewhat ominous. All of a sudden we heard this very loud screeching sound, and all of us jumped as it was a bone chilling noise. We found out later it was the owl we had heard earlier, and he been frightened by something.

We saw a white figure floating above one of the headstones, and we wanted to get closer if we could to see what it was. As we got closer, the figure seem to turn and stare at all of us for a moment, then sort of floated away. What was strange is we weren't able to distinguish if it was a male or female, it certainly wasn't a person.

It was definitely a ghost or spirit! I think we were more curious than scared at this point till it started to swoop down on us, and screeching this terrible ear piercing sound. What a horrid noise, it sounded like this thing was in agony. It continued the swooping down upon us, and screeching as if to tell us something, however we were too scared to think about what it might want. We all seemed to be just standing there, like a 'deer stuck in the headlights of a car'. That is called the flight or fright syndrome. It reached down and grabbed one of our shoulders, and then we started to run.

We ran, and ran...finally getting back to our sleeping area. Well, you do realize that no one was going to sleep on this night, we would be just happy when the night finally passed. The ghost did not follow us, however, it kept on screeching those horrid screams. I began to wonder if somehow it was in some kind of pain. It is quite curious to think spirits or ghosts can even feel pain.

Well we decided to lie down and try to rest, since we had time ahead of us before we could leave, and some already wanted to leave. We heard other eerie noises in the night, some were the owls there, others sounds were hard to distinguish what they were, although they certainly were unsettling. Time was passing, and soon the sun would be up, and we could leave. We did keep hearing the sounds of the ghost we saw earlier, but it didn't come back near us. We were happy about that one for sure! I think we all must have fallen asleep because of a sudden it was morning, and we all could go now. WE HAD WON THE BET!!
