" Last month there was a little Christmas celebration at my kids'
school and I was asked to set up a table where I could draw the kids as elves
and, of course, I had to do one of myself to show off. This is the colored version.
I'm thinking of doing something similar for my convention booths this year. Lemme
know what you think in the forum or via email, please. I'd appreciate that feedback."
" Welcome to a new year of possibilities and opportunities! My
family and I wish you and yours a prosperous, healthy, blessed year
for 2009! Thanks for reading our little corner of the internet and thanks
for being YOU!"
" That's the story that makes us feel better, anyway.
" Well, Christmas has already come and gone and we're now left
with the obligatory clean-up. Biggest gift was the newest addition to
the Mangulario clan, Cyclone. Cyclone is a baby Sulcata tortoise. I
promised my kids a pet and I figured something that can one day outgrow
and outlive all of us is something worth the investment.
" We've been reading up on the proper diet of our sulcata and
found that this is a great jump-off point to get ME eating healthier,
too. Any of you folks tortoise owners, too? I've found some groups online
and am surprised at just how many folks are such avid handlers/owners.
" With this comic, we tilt our masks to 2008 and welcome 2009...
onward and upward, minions!"
" Today's comic was one of the closer-to-real-life moments I take
from fatherhood. My daughter and I had a very similar conversation just
the other day and I guess, this close to the holidays, I decided to
stay true to the moment rather than shoot for a one-off laugh.
" I hope you've all been good minions or Santa-Mangler will be
getting you nothing more than a class A mangling. Hmm.. I have to rethink
that since that's actually a FORTUNATE thing to get from Santa-Mangler.
" Happy Holidays, folks. I pray you've had a blessed year and
I pray you enjoy bountiful blessings in the coming year!"
" Today marks a momentous moment in my day job. I've finally been
promoted within the company and will be moving up and out of the call
center. My wife and I were both thrilled and are eager to see what this
new position brings... besides the obvious raise. Most of my buddies
who've long since left the call center will be in this new building
when I get there tomorrow. I'm so excited!"
" I'd like to also let you folks know that our contest drawing
is two days from being over and I'm so impressed with the amount of
readers who've decided to participate! We'll be drawing our winner on
Saturday, so be prepared for that email, Winner (whom ever you will
be)."
"I have big, powerful hands she says. I guess I really can't blame
her.
" Don't forget to jump over to Amy's Store by clicking on the
banner ad to the right! The contest ends on Friday night at midnight
central standard time! The final drawing will be made on Saturday and
the winner will be emailed directly, then posted here on Tuesday. We've
gotten a fair amount of entries and it still isn't too late!
" Right... it's still hard to explain WHAT they're doing.
" So, as you can see by the tower banner to the right, we've had
a campaign going with Amy over at Always
Amy. Amy and I have decided, in the spirit of Christmas,
to hold a contest drawing. Here's how we're gonna play this:
" From now until the evening of December 12th you can go over
to Amy's shop and peruse through her selection of gifts and jewelry
and find your favorite item. Then you can either jump into my forum
or send me an email titled 'Amy's Etsy Contest' and tell me which item
was your favorite. (I know which one is MY
favorite). At the end of the contest, Amy and I will choose a random
participant to win a little gift bag containing something from both
of our stores!
" Soon, very soon, I will have the opportunity to prove why I
AM the Mangler. Turkey Day is fast approaching and if you're any sort
of regular, then you'll know that my turkey day challenge is coming
up on it's 4rth anniversary. I hear you asking, 'Mangler, this intrigues
me! What do I need to do?!'
" Well, it's simple, Minion-in-Training. Take a photo of every
plate you put down the hatch before you pass out on the couch. Post
it in my forum or email it to me. The most plates gets a prize from
me."
" Since I'm a gentleman... and a modest one at that... I won't
divulge how many solar laps Lori's completed. We took her out for Mexican
food as it IS her favorite and arranged for some pampering time. We
also had a chance to sit through the new TinkerBell
CGI and I have to say, though I disagree with the choice
for voice actresses, the movie was an adorable one and it was nothing
less that what one should expect from a Disney animated feature.
" I hear tale that my peer and cohort, Wes
Molebash, is revamping his site and getting ready to
launch something new in the coming new year. Unfortunately, this comes
with an equally distressing circumstance: You'll Have That will be coming
to an end. One of these days I'll learn to stop drawing guest comics...
every time I do, it seems that the comic for which I draw comes to an
end. ( Except PvP,
let's face it, anyone in league with Voldemort can shake off my guest
art influence, right? ) Oh, and I'd like to send a hearty 'Hola!' to
my 5 readers in Spain. Nice to know I'm followed from my compadres castillanos.
See ya on Thor's Day!
" In Texas American football is like a religion... there is little
difference when it comes to Lori and sales..
" My van is still sick and cleverly, Dodge has made the part I
need to replace, impossible to find and I'm told I can't buy this part
aftermarket. I have to get it from Dodge, directly. I have nothing nice
to say about that, but I DO appreciate your patience last Thursday.
I'm blessed to have you guys as readers and fans. Thank you.
" You may recognize today's florist. If not, you're not reading
a very funny, very beautiful comic drawn by one of the shortest artists
I know. Thanks
Danielle!"
