If wife is called the housewife, then the husband should be called the houseband. In general term, wife and husband are definable in our dictionaries, so as the word housewife. On the other hand, the houseband word is still debated in masculine dictionary “if it should exist or not”. Personally, houseband do not exist in my household. Though I have the most loving and caring husband, I could not change his household name to houseband. Since he will never pass the household qualifications, I could only tell you the worse and the rests are the best part of him. He could not cook. His sunny side up egg looks like a blasted sun. He warmed the cook rice on the stove (no microwave) and it sets off the smoke alarm. The last but not the least, he has the poorest DIY ideas. Yes, I did all the electronic installations, assemble appliances and he is just my buddy waiting for my command. Therefore, I conclude that husband is the right word to call him but not a houseband.

Few years ago before this economic downturn, many of my relatives and friends were gone on vacation to the country where snow is plenty. I had a snow escapade once and the rests of my travels were spent in Asia. When December comes, you could see stuffed backpack and luggage were sitting by the corner, the two travel companions waiting for the day vacation will be taking off. How I miss those days, in good economic times spending hard earned saving seems not scary to think, unlike today. This may not be the time for us to go on vacation with the family but we can make our holiday as joyous and happy like having a vacation in the comfort of our homes.

Black Friday It Is!
What is Black Friday by the way? I had no idea what it was before I came to this country. I know that there is Black Saturday, therefore Black Friday makes sense. I mean, this may be the Good Friday the day Jesus Christ died on the cross. Ha ha ha ha! Don’t laugh at me because that was an innocent thought. He he he he! I guess we could laugh together. Madness it is! Mad that I did not know about this until recently and madly excited for tonight’s Black Friday shopping madness. Ahem! Actually, I have no money for that, I only want to watch the madness.

In Asia, seeing a dentist for a toothache and dental treatment are like eating a piece of cake. Why? It is inexpensive and to almost all type of treatments. I cannot remember any incident visiting a dentist for tooth decay except cleaning, but one day when I was in the U.S.A every toothache that I did not felt before came in unison. When it comes to toothaches you cannot say no to dentist, so I met one in Atlanta. So, if you want a share of the President elect Barack Obama’s glory, you will definitely visit the White House one of this day, and if you happen to have a toothache or wants a dental cosmetics while on tour, you might want to drop by at the Washington DC dentist for check up. Actually, if you live nearby the Washington DC dentist, drop by and get your free consultation especially to new clients.

Back, to the times when our wallet and debit card are hefty for shopping indulgence. People who lost their jobs are now living in a weekly unemployment compensation and food stamps, with little dime left for a can of soda. And those people who are still working and about to lose their jobs and freaking out because savings are drying-out. Do we know what will happen next?

Yes, we know most of the answers but hesitant to face them. It is difficult to face and accept realities. That is why sometimes we lied to ourselves just to feel comfortable in the midst of troubles. My hubby is still working but I am worried that suddenly or may be next year there will be no job to work for. The entire holiday is known to its season of discounts and big sale, and because of the glooming economy the sales would be massive. This should be the time for us to indulge but since many of us do not have enough cash and credit is tight, that means shopping is there to see. Don’t be fooled of the sale, hold on to your cash and buy the basic necessities.

Snow is already here and biking seems too cold for a ride. The hubby is now taking the bus to his workplace escaping the winter chills and now his bike is having a winter holiday as well as my wallet, maintenance and gas breaks. That was I thought before he asked me to buy his honda motorcycle parts and with all the oils. We all know that when machine and engine are not in use, it should be properly oil and change the parts for proper maintenance reasons.

My family is poor but we are happy. To many of our cousins and friends birthday and Christmas day are big deals because of the presents. Yes, we celebrate these two occasions but not with presents and lavish foods. If it is birthday then expect that dinner is added with extra dishes, prayers, no cake and no presents. Just an ordinary day, that is why we are not excited when birthday’s coming.

How about Christmas? My mother decorated the house with Christmas spirit and all the blings blings that she could think, mostly she made it by herself and most of the time our house looks like a disco platform than a home because of too much Christmas decors indulgence. In Christmas Eve, we went to the church for the midnight mass then headed home for a hot cocoa with sandwich while listening to firecrackers blast. I bet, for many Christians they were busy opening their presents and eaten lavish foods. We never experienced Christmas in others home even to our relatives, because my father would always asked us to stay at home during this day and so as the New Year. Since then, I knew that Christmas is in everyone’s heart, not for the big Christmas tree, presents under it and lavish foods.

Blog Pictures acobox.com

One of Acobox amazing images

This site is specially created for me. Yes, I’m exaggerating! Since I started blogging I always embed pictures to most of my posts to add more stories in it. Our visitors will likely read our posts because of our catchy titles or interesting pictures. Most of the embed images in my posts are too big that use more space in my blogger account, that is why I always resize them using the free service offer by one site and convert my big pictures into tiny size or small enough to fit in my post and use less space.

I am very happy to know that there is another site hosted by Acobox that allows me to use their free service and images for my blog pictures . I have limited knowledge in photography, so sometimes I asked my sister to resize my photos for my blog posts. Now, I am browsing the site and I found hundred of resize images that are fit for our blog posts, its easy to locate, worry free for licensing and copyrights because Acobox will do it for us. How lucky is that? Many of the pictures all over the web are licensed and copyrighted. Now, you can browse a specific image for your post at Acobox and it's free.

It is reported that the month of November and December are the worst two months based on economic outlook. Within these two months there will be thousand of the workforces will lose their jobs due to global economic downturn. Many will be busy thinking how to occupy they’re whole day of no work instead of spending it in the workplace.

I love October, November and December, these are the months that full of joy and happiness because of the holidays, and today it turn out to be the worst months after the 911 tragedy. I have few friends in America and they said that this coming Thanksgiving Day is their first cold turkey day. For them it is another ordinary day to thank God, family, friends and relatives without the feast for the holiday. Anyways, it’s not about turkey right! I do agree with them, there is more than turkeys on the table that need to prioritize.

Say, Thank You everyday to God, family, friends and relatives for the blessings, graces, good health, peace and harmony.

We bought a 32-inch flat screen TV for our dearest tot so that he could learn to converse and watch educational cartoons. Indeed, he learns a lot. Right now the TV is on the small TV lift and I guess it is better to watch when it is mounted on the wall. I really want to see it attached to the wall but I am bit scared because I don’t trust my Do It Yourself knowledge. Our flat panel mount material is been waiting for us to mount it. I am just waiting for the right person to do it for us and definitely not my husband because he is the worse DIY at home.

Yesterday, there was fire on the 6th floor of our Condo. The occupants were senior who happened to overcook their supper. When one suite is on fire the rest of the suites will be alarmed so everybody is alerted to find the nearest exit signs. We were stranded in the lobby because it was snowing the whole afternoon, then the culprit came out barefoot rushing and explaining the fire alarm incident. She said that there was smoke from the overcooked meal, they got panic and in an impulse open the main door. Also said, that there were no smoke detector or fire alarm in their suite. We disagree! And it is not possible. She must have run-out of reason when she saw us rumblings and rushing to the exits staircase.

At home, in the workplace even in the mall we can hear people complaining about their spouses, jobs, colleagues, money and life. Often they are talking to someone who is also having the same fate or feeling like them. I have conversed to many of my friends and relatives who complained a lot about their lives and burdens. To lighten their emotional baggage’s and uplift their hopes, I tend to listen and share my thoughts as well as my burdens. To let them feel that they are not alone, who do not have problems and issues in their lives must be living in a perfect life. Which I doubt it does not exist but pure hopes that it will happen one day. I value the complaining and down pouring of burdens of somebody to anyone. This is one way of reducing stress. That is why a friend is also a therapeutic medium to whom often we release our emotional pressures.

It is another cold season and it’s time to bring out all the sweaters, coats, jackets, mittens and shawls. Without a doubt your winter clothes are made of wool, cashmere, leather and other types of warm clothing. Most of my winter dress clothes are made of wool and few cashmere sweaters. My cashmere sweaters are thin but it is amazing how warm it is and of course with matching Cashmere Shawl. It is quite pricey though but because of its elegant look and style, to own one or more is a must for me. It is worth having because it really gives you the warm that we need in winter season. I have few pashminas scarves which are very common in women neck apparels. Recently, cashmere pashminas was launched in the market particularly by the Pashmina International. I am certain that this is way better than just a simple pashminas shawl. I mean, when it comes to insulation.

Yesterday, Torontonians, Canadians and foreigners enjoyed the Santa Claus Parade. If the rest of the world are waiting for Santa to visit them on Christmas Eve, then Torontonian’s had the chance to see him in the parade on his slid pulled by the reindeers. It was raining and snowing yet no one moved from their chosen spots. Expectators are from few days old babies to elderly even sick kids was there to glimpsed the mystery of Christmas and it’s famous Ho ho ho’s. It was amazing to see people waiting for long hours before Santa touch down in town. Their enthusiasms were not weathered by rain and snow and temperature was below 5 degrees Celsius. I never have been to a parade that showed these kinds of extreme curiosity and dedication to the essence of Christmas. I was/am very happy to be there with my son who never sees a parade ever. He was very ecstatic, chanting words, cheering and say ho ho ho!

Our family is planning to buy a farm lot for small scale agricultural purposes and at the same place we will be probably living. All my life I dream to live in the country scenery and in the farmhouse. We have checked few lands intended for farming, most of them are great but quite pricey for our budget. Most of the lots we’ve checked are with the farmhouse and steel buildings like barn, the former and the latter are the reasons why the properties are bit expensive. What amazed me is that most of the building materials are mostly lifetime warranted, in the long-run building maintenance will be lessen. We just hope that our financing will be approved to get things done.
