- What is the value of networking through Entrecard?
-
Entrecard provides a unique networking platform for owners of blogs. When you receive a card in your inbox, it isn't from Grandma checking up on her sonny. It is from someone who owns an operates a blog, just like you. Someone motivated, like you, eager to make connections, branch out, and do what it takes to find success on the net. These are some of your most valuable readers, because they in turn have influence over audiences themselves. So go forth and network in confidence that you are making the right kinds of connections.
- Ok, so Entrecard is great for networking, but can it drive traffic to my site?
-
Yes, you can use Entrecard to launch advertising campaigns where you run your 125x125 Entrecard on someone else's widget, which would link through to your site. This is the equivalent of your standard 125x125 advertisement, except it is run on a day-to-day basis instead of a monthly basis, and you pay with credits instead of dollars.
- I can display my Entrecard on someone else's widget?
-
Yes, you can display your Entrecard on any widget on any site in our network, permitting:
- You have enough Entrecard Credits to purchase the space on the widget of your choice
- Your Entrecard gets approved by the blogs owner.
- What are Entrecard Credits and how do I get them?
-
Entrecard credits are used to purchase placement for your card on other blogs via the widget. You earn a credit every time you drop your card in someone else's widget, every time someone leaves you a card, and every time someone buys placement for their card on your blog.
- How many credits does it cost to place my card on someone else's widget?
-
The going rate is equal to twice the average number of cards received through the widget daily over the last five days. So, if a blog receives 100 cards on average per day, it costs 200 credits to advertise on their blog. This helps ensure that the economy balances. It also means that for every two credits you spend, a unique user will see your ad and be clicking in the vicinity.
- How many credits do I earn when someone runs their card on my widget?
-
You receive 50% of the credit cost to advertise on your widget. That means if it costs someone 100 credits to run their card on your widget for a day, you will earn 50 credits per day when a card runs on your widget. The other 50% of the credits gets cleared from the system, to limit the growth of the economy. We may change this rate in the future, and we may scale it differently to users of higher or lower volume. It is important that we maintain proper economic growth of our credit system so that credits remain valuable, and so you, the blogger, can sell your credits for real money. Any changes to the credit system will be announced in your dashboard.
- When do I receive the credits from an ad that ran?
-
You receive the credits for an ad that runs when it completes its run for a full 24 hours. If you cancel the ad at any time during its run, the advertiser will be fully refunded the credits they spent for your ad space.
- Does it matter where on my blog I place the widget?
-
No, put the widget wherever you like. Because the value your widget's ad space is based on the number of people that drop their card in your widget each day, it only benefits you to place it higher, encouraging more visitors to leave you their card, driving up the value of the ad-space on your widget. Aslo, more people will be likely to advertise on your widget if it is placed higher on your blog.
- What are the benefits of receiving a lot of cards into my widget each day?
-
- The number of credits it costs someone to advertise their card on your site will increase, earning you more credits when people advertise
- Your placement in our categories will climb. The person who receives the most credits in their category is listed first when members and general public browse our categories, and so on for the second, third, fourth, etc. So receiving more credits increases your visibility to people browsing participating blogs.
- Can I earn commissions, credits, referral bonuses for people I sign up?
-
No. We are not a pyramid scheme and we want people to use our service for the value we offer in networking and and ad-campaigning for your blog. If people reccommend our service, it's because it is truly useful, not because they have something to gain.
- Do I have to approve someone's card every time they want to run it?
-
No. Once you have approved a card, it will run automatically if they run their card on your widget in the future. If their card or link is changed in any way, you will have to approve it again before it will run on your site.

-
Once per day we will allow a larger company to drop their card into the inbox across the entire network. This will not appear on your website anywhere, but rather only in your inbox when you log into entrecard. You will also receive 5 bonus credits for visiting these sponsors. We will also allow for sponsorship opportunities for our system emails and all of our RSS feeds. When the economy is in great shape, we will roll out a credit exchange for bloggers to sell their credits to advertisers, and we will take a commission.
- Why are the options for the onsite create-a-card lacking?
-
Because we want everyone to make their own 125x125 card and upload it. The on-site card creator is only really intended to serve as a stand-in until you can get a professional card designed.
- Why did a blogger reject my ad?
-
There could be a number of reasons your ad gets rejected. Your card may not look professional enough. Your site may not be up to their quality standards. Or, they may have other reasons entirely their own. It is always the decision of the blogger whether to run a particular ad, and they can reject an ad, or cancel an ad, at any time they wish.
- I placed the code in my blog, but the widget doesn't align properly. Why?
-
We are constantly working to improve the engineering behind our widget. If it does not display properly, please log in and use the feedback form on your dashboard to let us know. Chances are we'll have it sorted out very soon as we go through all the major blog platforms and skins and test and re-engineer for compatibility.
