I am buying a domain name for my "Positive Thinking" blog.

It will contain articles on positive thinking, motivation, goals etc.

Whats your take on this : Which one shall I buy ??

I understand that - u people like - thepositivelife, but u see, it is very long to type.

just look at the names sites have these dayz, small - digg, reddit, zapak, orkut, facebook, mixx.

so people might not feel like typing such a big name... dont u think so ?

Well you asked for input, so I'll give a bit more since you seem concerned.

Honestly, the others just don't look that great to me. Here's why; pretend I don't know anything about your site or what it's about (as will most people that are going there for the first time, or googling and seeing a domain name come up)... I'm not gonna sugar coat this; just being honest.

This is what I think when I see them:

1. thinkposi.com - What the hell is a posi?
2. posithinkers.com - Same as above ^

4. ruoptimistic.com - r u txtng me? Heh. That kind of typing is okay for cell phones and IM I guess, but in a domain name? Dunno. Pet peeve of mine I guess.
5. liveloyd.com - Acronyms can be great, but I've never seen LOYD used before (and it's probably not very common), so I would be confused on what it even meant. Better to stick with common ones if you are going to use one at all.
6. feelposi.com - Same as above with "posi"
7. posithinking.com - Ditto^

While the one I like may be longer than the others, it is much, much easier to remember; it rolls off the tongue nicely, and I'm more likely to click on something like that than any of the others, if I had seen them come up in a search engine.

Just my two cents, mate. Ultimately, you just need to do whatever feels right to you, and you'll be happy with! But if you want feedback, that's mine.

Also, whoever owns positivelife.com appears to be a domain squatter (I just checked the URL on whois and Alexa info). There's contact info here: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/main/positivelife.com

You could always try to offer to buy the domain from them? And if not, since there's no actual site, I wouldn't worry about misled traffic that way due to similarities at this point.

EDIT: Used the wayback machine and it looks like there used to be a site there:

And one more thing- remember shortened terms can mean other things. My wife and I used the name here for a while of the name we used overseas. Gasa House. Gasa means gift in Filipino. So we owned "The Gift House".

Since a lot of their words are the same as Spanish, I was more than delighted to hit the huge Spanish speaking populuation on this side of the world. But it didn't take me long to learn that Gasa in Spanish means "gauze". We'd become the Gauze House.

Where was I? Oh.... "Posi" has something to do with heavy metal music and a country I was in once (I think Korea), it means.... a female's crotch.

I like thepositivelife the best also, but I would place liveloyd second. "Thepositivelife" is easiest to remember, but it is also the most generic. Liveloyd has more spunk.
