What is this? Suddenly I find pings from a site trynewshit.com. They have a short version of one of my posts. http://trynewshit.com/?p=18966
How do you feel about stuff like that?
They say :
"Here at the Digest we don't write the blogs, we just provide a short snippet of the best content from around the web. If you see an item of interest, please visit the original blog. We help readers find new blogs and we help bloggers expand their audience."

That's very common practice and nothing wrong with it unless it's a porn blog or other completely unacceptable blog. You get the backlinks and that's a good thing. They have to come to your site to view the whole post. They just want ad or adsense income without having to bother to write.

I can't find any ads there. Thats why I got confused. I don't get what they get from it. Maybe the link backs if I release it from my spam and display the pingback?

Maybe they are hoping your blog automatically posts a trackback?

As long as they are giving me the credit for my article, I have no problem with it. Plus they are encouraging people, int their mission statement, to visit the source blog.
So, it's not like they're kiting your post. You are actually getting free exposure, while they get the adsens. Fair trade, I think.

Yeah - I have no problem with that - I mean, they linked to you and give credit where it is due. I mean, it is kinda lazy on their part and with no revenue source that I can see I have no idea why they do it. Hell, they can steal my old shit anytime ...

I think this is my first pingback. :D

They are using the prosense theme, so either they got kicked out of AdSense or they are waiting to have a steady stream of traffic before putting it on.

It's what blogging is all about isn't it? It's a virtual form of "Hey look what I found!" You get a link, and they promoted your blog so that's good. I do it all the time so I hope people aren't going to say it's a bad thing.

That's a spam site, but it seems fairly innocuous.

Ok first of all, ewww. And second of all, thanks to you, Graham is now probably fielding hundreds of angry emails from offended mommy bloggers.

True ... it's a scraper, but a good scraper. There's a lot of scrapers that scrape the whole post and don't link back. I personally love this type of scraper. Come on, scrape me baby.

Besides, the name of this thread is "Try New Shit". Can you really get offended in a thread with a title like that.
I swear Graham, I didn't put him up to it. Please, don't ban me again. I promise to stop harassing you...For like maybe a week. I don't wanna promise the impossible.

that's a different story. You do not want to get links from "bad neighborhoods". I would contact the site owner and tell him to eliminate your site from his scraping and remove all links he currently has to your site. If he doesn't do it, Google can and probably will make him by delisting his site altogether. I've done it, I know. I had a huge scraper site delisted completely within a week.
