It's Gettin' Kind of Serious....

Confessions of a Fitness Diva

I am seriously becoming addicted to my blog(s). I think about them all the time, even when I'm not on my computer. I'm on the train, writing articles and content, and thinking of fresh new ideas and topics to spring on the public constantly... I see a new blog post in everything that passes in front of my eyes on a daily basis. Like a park, a dog, or this really cool tree I saw earlier. I think I could make a really thought provoking, entertaining post about it that would rate at least 40 comments. I wake up in the middle of the night to log on and see if I've gotten any new comments to my last post... Well, it's not that bad yet, but it's getting there!!!

Is anyone else here as addicted to their blog as me? Is there a 12 step program for bloggers yet? I will go crazy if my laptop ever stops working. I keep two on standby just in case..... Help!

Everything that happens is essentially blog material. If you have a general blog that is a good way to grab attention imo is to have off the wall topics that you don't see everywhere. If you think it, you should blog it! :)

Ditto, but after some seriously hard work at not working on it, I've finally curbed the addiction enough that I focus on other work first--most of the time, that is.

I've intentionally reduced my writing to one good article a week, but I still find ways to occupy my time with a variety of blog-upkeep activities. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I have to check on my blog. I check on my blog even before I brew coffee each morning--and also while I'm drinking it. I check on my blog as soon as I get home from work. I check on my blog for the last couple of hours before I go to bed. During odd moments in the day, I'm reading two books about blogging.

I guess you can call me a functional blogaholic.

OMG, Roundhouse, I check my blog and all my stats first thing when I wake up in the morning! Forget making coffee (well, I go to Dunkin Donuts for decaf anyway, so ..wouldn't apply)

But the FIRST thing I tend to every day is my blog. Even before I shower!!!

You're probably okay if you're not letting the blogging activities outweigh the fitness activities. But if that's the case I guess you could change your name to the blogging diva. ;)

I thought about this question since it was posted yesterday and can honestly say I don't share the addiction you all speak of. Mainly, there's just nothing much interesting about my life that happens and makes me say ... hey, I'll blog that. It's like, yeah ... so who cares?

I bought a domain for a personal blog to blog about my life, which at times has been a little too interesting, but can't bring myself to start it.

I think about mine alot. I have 3 blogs right now that are entrecard-enabled and I keep a notepad file on my desktop with article ideas for those blogs.

Confessions,

When blogging calls, the shower can wait!

Hello, my name is Gray Kane, and I'm a blogaholic. ("Hi, Gray.") I first realized I had a problem in May when I wrote a post from my phone on the way to my Honeymoon. My wife has made fun of me ever since!

Dot Com Mogul,

I'm like you in that I don't care to blog about my life. I don't find my life that interesting either. So I blog about what I do find interesting: the 2008 elections, how movies I see relate to trends in American culture, the media's skewed depictions of things, books, how people can't agree on what is racist.... The list of what I find interesting goes on and on--and it has very little to do with whatever I'm doing on a day-to-day basis.

Holding hand up here -- yeah I do that too. Walking on the treadmill is a great time to compose blog posts fitness. If you have a bluetooth and Utterz or Jott, you can dictate the post or at least the idea of it as you exercise and now you're multi-tasking.

Keep a pad of paper and pen beside the bed for those ideas that wake you up in the middle of the night, but be sure to have a concentrated light so you don't wake up anyone else in the room. Even the dog gives me a dirty look when I do that.

Oh -- Hey! This is a GREAT TOPIC FOR A POST!

I just looked up the name Blogaholic(s).com, and it's already taken! Darn it!

Oh, and somebody also got thebloggingdiva.com too, Monkey! Obviously warped minds think alike! ;)

get BLOGGINDIVA.COM

It's available and sounds great

bloggingdiva.net is also good.

.net is the new .com since good .coms are so scarce

I've got a ton of DN's as it is. I'ma just let that one go. Thanks for checking, though.

I was looking at the diva one just for fun. I have a slew of 'diva' DN's. Hell, I even own "divaism.com". You wouldn't believe the rest of the bunch! lol

Nowadays, something really has to strike me to buy it. Blogaholic.com would have been classic!

yeah ... it would have been. A domainer apparently owns it as it is for sale. Bet they want a pretty price for it too.

correction - buydomains.com owns it and they only want $2,888 for it. lol

Fitness Diva, why don't you go to a self-hosted site if you own domains?

I tried aviddiva.com -- bit of a backwards/forwards one, but it's taken. It's amazing the amount of .coms that are taken.

Probably because having a Blogger blog is so easy. I will eventually do a Wordpress one, but with free hosting and superb Google page indexing, why fix what's not broken?
