Hmm, is that a real stat, or is the stat that 2.5% of the time, EntreCarders use Chrome...
I use both, however I use Firefox much more frequently than Chrome?
Right now, 3.5% of my traffic is from Chrome browsers.

2.5% tested chrome to see if it works on Entrecard. Give it a week and see if that number goes up or down.

Whatever I Feel Like Blogging About
I can see people using google chrome, considering it has a much faster startup time (or at least as tested on my computer). If they had some plugins for it, I'd be using it too.

With the ability to block images and ads Firefox is quicker. Chrome may get better as they add features in the future.

So is it really an OS for the internet? Or is it just another browser with a few features that aren't too fascinating and slightly faster load times?
I honestly don't know why people are making such a big deal about load times. I read the comic, and it kept talking about broken javascript this and applications that. I didn't even know I had a problem until they told me I did.
If a page loads slow enough for me to notice, it's because of their shared host and not because of the browser. Just my opinion though.

With Google's reputation for data mining, I want nothing to do with a browser made by Google.

I d/l'ed Chrome and gave it a short spin. Probably not enough to really qualify as a good test, but I was not very impressed. I honestly didn't see any true instance of a site loading faster in it than the same site loads in FF3. Maybe I just frequent crappy sites, I don't know, but many of the ones I visit are ECarder's so....you know.
I missed the flexibility the addons I have with FF afford me -- EToolbar, YSlow, NoScript, etc. I also miss Zemanta when I tried to write a post on one of my blogs.
It's just so blah...

I'm switchin to Chrome. Much lighter and faster
But I love Firefox because it remembers my name, email and web. Making me easier to drop Entrecards + comment
Besides, my post on Google Chrome gave my blog a Yahoo Buzz front page ^^

Long time firefox user. I don't ever see myself moving to chrome after seeing their terms and what they say about content you publish via their browser. Just as with all other google applications they are worse than the US Government when it comes to privacy.

Eventually, they will probably win a slot in the browser war. More for shear size that value. Today, there is zero value, only a promise. Firefox is the best browser and their competitive disadvantage is the op system. Now, they'll be squeezed from both sides, which is awful. Google will eventually overtake FF, and we'll lose yet another superior product to corporate greed.

I don't think google will be able to over take ff in terms of browser user base. They will have a ways to go and with their ethics I don't see them ever gaining a strong hold in the browser market.

I thought Google has already admit the mistake on the EULA (which was meant for other Google application)?
Once it's fixed, that EULA / privacy problem will go away.
and once Google Gears rolling on Chrome, we can smile :) (I'm loving WordPress support on Google Gears)

oh actually, Google HAS updated their EULA now
The updated EULA now reads: "You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services."

Interesting, thanks for the update. I may give it a spin to check it out but I doubt I will be leaving firefox any time in the near future.

Motherboards already connect to the internet, run a browser, and download files without an operating system. The next step will be connecting to the internet to load your desktop. Expect Google to be right there with it's desktop manager and browser.

That was just people testing. I use chrome but only for the application side of things. It works great with Gmail and so on.
We also need to remember its only BETA so it has loads of new things on its way and will be more stable. I bet plugins will be in one of the next betas.
Its funny listening to people complain about it. they make it quite clear its only for testing with the BIG BOLD text and images.

Everybody is always talking about features for browsers, but that is what I don't want. I want a small browser that loads pages fast. Right now, that is what Chrome is. That is what Firefox WAS back in the day. Now Firefox is just a huge hog and getting more bloated each release. It is annoying.

I like how Chrome doesn't kill as much memory as FF, unless you have a ton of tabs open.

I wouldn't read too much into the "beta" tag. If Gmail is anything to go by, Chrome could be in beta for years!
