I am thinking of redesigning my header on my site. I have had some people say they are turned off by the fact I consider myself a "Guru".

Seriously folks.....the word Guru simply means teacher and that's what I am. It's not like I am seeing approval from everyone, but I certainly don't want to offend them either.

Also, I was thinking of using a different photo....one of me perhaps in workout apparel.

What are your thoughts? Any feedback is truly appreciated. :)

When a person calls someone guru or refers to themselves as a guru,they have to prove it.

@ Pat....I don't see anything wrong with your header. And, I think most people understand that a guru is a teacher. If you wish to change it, maybe try the pic in workout apparel....probably attract more women. :)

When people think sports, they think coach, manager, and trainer. Guru's are for love and meditation.

The Fitness Coach? The Fitness Trainer? Probably a bit bland, but at least you don't come off like another "marketing guru", which is the lowest life form of the guru sub-species.

I think you should use "Grand Shaman of All Things Fitness," but that's just my personal preference. Some people might take offense to that, too.

I'm not and never have been put off by the "guru" designation, but confess to thinking it a bit preppy. Then again, you ARE in that age bracket, and those are the age people you are most trying to reach or who comprise your main market.

Do what feels right to you, Pat.

Being a normal, heterosexual female, seeing you in work out duds would be nice (Ok, OK! VERY NICE), but the suit is just so un-exercise-ish that it intrigues people into looking deeper into what you have there. Besides, you look pretty darned good in that too!

Don't lose the suit picture. It looks crisp and professional. You don't have to be in spandex or sweats to look like you know what you are talking about or to look sexy. A suit is far more attractive than a man in almost anything else. Besides, men just don't wear spandex well.
