I would like to take this opportunity to appologise to all the people who have blogspot and randomly thrown together blogs with a mess of unrelated ads for trying to advertise on their site. I know my logo is not great but I didn't think it would look out of place considering no effort was put into your blogs in the first place.
Sorry......

I guess you're referring to excuses such as "Design Clash" and similar that have popped up. Upon reviewing the 'rejectors' site i have been amazed at the gaul of some people refusing advertising on, as you allure too, less than impressive sites.

Why advertise on sites like that in the first place?

Wouldn't a well designed ad in fact clash with a crappy site??? :)
Many of the sites on here are "make money online" or "web marketing" sites. There is nothing wrong with them, but I think they wouldn't really fit with what I'd want on my site. I'd prefer to have sites with a niche focus, regardless of the design of the actual ad.
I'd accept other travel sites, food, photography, philosophy, etc. because I think there is a greater chance of my readers actually visiting a site like that.

I would also recommend some of the "Design Clash" rejectors check their sites in browsers other than M$ IE6/7... I actually get a good laugh as a firefox user to see some of the sites in non M$ browser.

Haven't gotten the "design clash" yet...I get the " not accepting new ads" when what they really mean is they aren't accepting new ads from me.
Now I feel left out...gonna go see if I can get some
design clash rejection.

I actually think the real reason maybe something to do with cancelling lower paying ad spots in favor of getting higher paying ads running to maximise credits. I think that if you cancel and ad the value of the highest paying ad in your queue should be knocked down to the value of the ad you just cancelled. That will ensure that the ad is cancelled for the real reason, not just to get a few extra credits.

I think that sometimes we get so caught up in this "tightly focused niche" thing. Yes we need that to make money, but visitors aren't one dimensional in their interests.
As a visitor, just because I'm looking for marketing info don't you think I might be interested in reading a good book, going on holiday or looking at fast cars? Isn't that why most get into marketing to make the money to get those things? ;)
Personally, I welcome the non make money types to advertise. I would like to have for example "lighter" ads at the weekends, like the humour and travel type blogs and during the week photography, web design type blogs.

I agree with what your saying, but I'm not sure the opposite holds true, at least not in all cases.
Some of the ads for the money sites give the feel of a bad banner ad or spam email. I accepted the ad for Toni recently, and that one doesn't beat you over the head. Its more subdued and I have no problem with that.
The vast majority of my readers do not run their own websites (as far as I can tell). I'd rather have something run that would interest them as readers rather than as authors.
I do wish you could run multiple ads and pick which one you want to run based on the site. I was recently in the Philippines and I'd love to use some of my photos from there on sites with Pinoy authors. Likewise, I have some great photos of beaches and places in the Pacific I'd use on some of the money and marketing blogs.

I'll accept your ad if you want to buy one from me! Have you been trying to purchase on some of the most popular blogs and have been rejected or are your requests still pending? I pay a lot of attention to the user's advert stats before I decide to buy. A high rejection rate usually makes me move on.

I'd first like to thank the bloggers that do accept my advertisements.
Though, I do find it quite odd that I get so many rejected advertisements. At one point I had almost 300 credits because I was getting rejected when trying to spread the wealth around.
I understand that a site about bald men and head shaving doesn't have to do with making money on the internet, but many male bloggers do have to deal with hair loss or shave their head. Look at Jeremy over at ShoeMoney.com, he shaves his head. Heck, if I rejected ads for being "not relevant" I would only have about 3 blogs here that would be allowed to advertise on my site.

I should add that it's usually what I consider 2nd tier blogs that are concerned about this and not some of the more popular blogs here.

It feels like people are gaming the system. Sign-up and don't take ads until your clicks go up and it cost more to advertise. It is there choice of course but it just does not feel right.

Rejection hurts, and I'm proud to say I haven't rejected/canceled any ads since my first day with entrecard when I was still just clicking happily at all the buttons (even the "reject" and 'cancel" ones).
I have to admit that my niche is the least popular, I get a lot of rejections. But bear in mind people, my widget is at the topmost part of my sidebar and people who enter my site will see your lovely face first before my latest posts. :D

Many people seem to be of the belief that if you aren't in their niche then it would be bad advertising. My readers are human and as far as I can tell most humans have varied interests.

Hear, hear. I agree totally with everyone. In fact, I posted a duplicate thread, oops.
I haven't rejected one ad. I know my blog isn't the greatest in the history of the world, but I like it and it's my pride and joy. I kinda expected everyone to be receiving and glad to help each other out, and for the most part, that is true.
I had a guy tell me he rejected mine because of my card, which I know isn't for everyone...but it represents my blog for now.
Whatever...their loss, and more credits for me to advertise elsewhere. Best of luck to everyone.
