F$#%!
Can you ban those who are using Pay Per Play and those who embed autoplay music?
It could trigger a heart attack, you know.

I doubt that they'll get banned for using PPP to monetize providing they have some content other than that and are not a splog. If it's a splog, report it as a splog but PPP by itself doesn't make it a splog.

Isn't the goal of EC to find noisy and interesting sites?

Just a little hint;
Turn the volume down lol :)
I come across them all the time, it is usually a taco bell commercial.

I hate that stuff, but...
- I only turn on my audio when I am actually expecting to hear something I want to hear.
- I don't think a blogger should be banned for that, no matter how much it may annoy their readers.

Ban them? Absolutely not. Remove that blog from my bookmarks and never revisit? Definitely.
I like intelligent blogs. If you insult that intelligence you are gone. Don't be stupid just because a crap internet marketing blog told you how you will get rich by playing those audio ads.
Earth to entrecarders. You are a captive audience. If people think you will mindlessly load their page, spammers will fill their sites will all kinds of pay per view, pay per listen junk and worse. People who post this crap on their sites are abusing your trust.
Those of you patronizing these sites are encouraging and welcoming spammers. Don't do it.

I'm like Joe- I keep my volume muted unless I expect to hear something or want to listen to a video or audio snippet. While I don't agree with the newest monetization techniques, I wouldn't say ban them. I write paid posts, and while I don't go overboard with them, a lot of sites do which offer very little content in between. I simply don't go back to that site. And yes I have ads on my site, but the ads belong to other bloggers, which in my opinion are less of a pain than flashing ads from snarky advertisers.

Simple way to solve the problem when you visit a site with audio ads turn your speakers off.
I will never run them on my site unless I go hungry and trust me from my size it will take several centuries

Even simpler to take off your socks and stick them in your ears when you browse the web! Audio ads = I never come back Don't do it.

ahkong.net - Deimos Tel`Arin's domain - Gamer, Blogger, Philosopher
My speakers are turned off unless I am playing some PC Games, and I haven't played PC Games for a long time.

I only have speakers muted at work because I'm ususally playing some music on my pc here at home, so when I hit one of those sites, I don't drop or stick around. It's X and they're gone.
I don't like sites that have auto play videos either, and they get treated the same.
Whoever thought those ads was a smart idea is dumb. Now I don't even eat at Taco Bell anymore -- don't want to encourage them!

Turnip, I couldn't agree more. It would be different if I clicked to play a video that had an ad at the start, because you're expecting sound anyway.
Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of site owners are convinced that this is going to make them rich. So I think we'll be seeing more of these ads.
I usually browse the net while listening to music, and I would immediately leave any site that autoplays an audio ad when I arrive. It's worse than popup windows.

Arg. I usually play music while surfing and I like it a bit loader since I have a little hearing difficulty. Hahah.
It's not the first time this happens to me though. I was just so pissed, I feel the need to make a thread here.
We don't really know what Taco Bell is cause we don't have that here. I just know that I HATE them!

I hate the sites with auto music. If you are going to put music on fine, just let me hit play if I want to hear it. I don't drop on those, I just close the browser or tab. Ahhh!

Just shooting the breeze with Breezie
my speakers are ALWAYS off, I tend to be on here all hours of the day, and it only took me once to click on a link during the wee hours of the morning, to encounter auto play music that darn near killed me...

YOu mean you guys don't like the beautiful music that blares out of your speakers unexpectedly when you visit a site and sometimes freezes your browser? I love those! Especially when its an ad, makes me want to go and grab that burger immediately.

To ban for auto play isn't reason enough to ban them. Irritating though. Some sites think its a Myspace page. Just shoot em a message and suggest these sites a piece of your mind.
Although for a music blog it shouldn't surprise you. A lot of them I visit still scare the living crap out of me. It's kinda like watching those prank videos people email you.
