New Forum, Manual Approval and more!

Greetings Everyone!
Well, it’s been a while since all you Entrecarders received an email from us, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been hard at work developing features we think you will love and appreciate.
NEW Forum
First up, the forum. Literally since day one, Entrecarders have been asking for a new forum, a better forum than the one we’ve always had. You wanted a fully-featured vbulletin, with all the bells and whistles. So we have officially upgraded to a NEW Vbulletin forum, with all the bells and whistles like user groups, user ranks/titles/reputation, post signatures, better moderation capabilities, subscriptions to threads and forums, and more!
…Open to ALL bloggers
One of the biggest changes is that the Entrecard forums are going to be open to all bloggers. You no longer need an Entrecard account to use Entrecard forums. We hope this opens the discussion to many more bloggers. Let’s show them what Entrecarders are made of!
REGISTER for the New Forum (important!!!)
As an Entrecard member, you’ll need to register a new account on the fourm. Feel free to use the same email / password as your Entrecard account. Register at http://forums.entrecard.com/register.php
Forum Giveaway Promotion!
From now until the end of February we’re giving away 1000 credits each day to two people in the forum who we’ve seen be helpful, informative, and supportive. It will be random, and each day we’ll announce the winners on the Contests forum.

Manual Approval is IN
Another feature that people have been asking for, since day 1, is a Manual Approval Process. From today forward, only blogs meeting the Entrecard Quality Standards will be admitted to Entrecard. And we’re going to work harder than ever to track down every last splog already in the system, and remove them immediately.
Top Dropper Day
Next Saturday, January 31 is Top Dropper Day. On this day, every Entrecard member participating in Top Dropper Day is going to write a blog post thanking their Top Droppers and linking to them. There are two ways you can join in the festivities:
1.) Write a post thanking your top droppers! From your Entrecard Statistics page you can see a list of the 10 bloggers who have dropped their card for you the most times in the last 30 days. Writing a post thanking them, linking to them, and writing a nice compliment about their blog is a great way to reward them for being loyal visitors.
2.) Drop!! Because so many people in Entrecard are participating in Top Dropper Day this month, the chances that bloggers will link to you increases dramatically. Dropping is a great way to earn credits and drive traffic to your blog, and this month it’s going to help you get links from other bloggers too. So drop frequently and often for the greatest rewards!

Let me be the first Michael, to say that I prefer the old forums. Why? We started to get to know each other because of our EC Cards. Visual cues are always easier to remember than names.
Other than that, it definitely is better although I don’t get why there are so many threads right now that are just the names of the people who posted them. But that’s just me.

Ok, I just spent some time on it and can confirm that there are tons of JUNK inside the forums right now and threads/replies are assigned to the wrong people. I remember those conversations and they are now assigned to who know who those people are, definitely not the original people who said them.
I think EC should just start over with a blank slate. This is a mess.

Is it just me, or are all the imported threads mangled, title wrong, first post missing, etc.
I think I’ll give it a few days to settle down before I have another look.

I must say that I do miss seeing who people are on the forums. It was nice being able to quickly and easily see who it is that is talking. Most people on the new one are not even saying what blog is theirs. I worry that this could also lead to people fighting and saying things that they would not have if it linked to their site like before.

Forums whether new or old are good for all of us as the more one writes on the net and adds their screen name, the more traffic one gets to their site as you appear in more web searches,all good! Happy Inaugeration Day All!

It’s good there is finally a better forum to use, I know that has been a struggle since the beginning. The forums being open to the public is another plus for entrecard and they may just come into their own as a good webmaster forum.

Was just checking the new forum cool as hell BUT it’s only going to be as good as WE MAKE IT
Appreciate all the efforts and help etc over this year look forward to more sucks we can’t stumble this site believe me I tried many times 
My blogs are all do follow if any of you goofs 
need some page rank.
Anyway great way to kick off 2009 and I’m glad to be a member I think 1 year now

I’ll have to check out the new forums! I’ll be playing along with top-dropper day on both my sites…although my new one will barely be showing anyone because it doesn’t have much of a following yet.
