Entrecard Blog to Shift Directions
Written on March 8th, 2008 by Graham
The Entrecard Blog is powering-up
Today marks a new path for the Entrecard blog. When I began Entrecard, I envisioned the Entrecard blog as an “eye on the blogosphere” type of blog. Not just a resource for Entrecard members to learn what’s going on with Entrecard, but for bloggers to learn about whats going on in the Blogosphere. After a recent comment in the forum, I’ve decided it is officially time to take it there. But I need your help.
Regular Contributors Needed
I am looking for roughly 10 Entrecard members to contribute regularly to the Entrecard blog. You won’t have the ability to publish, but you’ll be able to log in, and write an article. I will act as the editor and the person who hits the publish button.
What I want covered is everything, absolutely everything, going on in the Entrecard Blogosphere. If an Entrecard member is holding a contest, I want a blurb about it on the blog. If a new service is hitting the blogosphere, I want someone to post about it. If someone in the community writes a controversial article, a reaction may be in order. If an Entrecard members’ blog hit the home page of digg, I want a blurb about it. If someone made a video about Entrecard, I want it blogged. Commentary on other Entrecard members posts? Sure, as long as its intelligent and respectful. Want to talk about how many hits you got from an ad campaign? A strategy? Discuss new features? Discuss Joe Tech’s slots? Talk about competitors? Sounds good. See, it’s going to be a rapid-fire daily stream of blurbs and full articles.
I want to turn this blog into a powerhouse portal to the entire Entre-sphere. But I need your help. I need a small team of people, who are already all over the place on Entrecard, to take five or ten minutes out here or there to get something up here on the blog.
Naturally, all contributors will get a link at the bottom of their posts:
“This post was contributed by (your name) of (your blog/link)”
Seats are limited. 10 Available. Send an email to support at entrecard with subject “Contributor” and convince us that you are willing and motivated to contribute at least one to two posts per week. They don’t have to be long posts, they can be short and t0-the-point bits of news or updates. Announcing an Entrecard contest only takes 50 to 100 words.
And of course, not everyone who applies will be accepted. I’m looking for people with quality blogs, quality writing skills, motivation, good ideas, and generally very active in the blogosphere and on Entrecard.
How bout it? Who wants to become one of the first ever contributors to the Entrecard Blog?

I can easily picture this blog as a blogging authority in no time.

Hi Graham,
Even though I am already spreading too thin to make a commitment about writing regularly on your blog, I do have a new service (well, sort of) to show off to Entrecard community. It is an small free widget easily customizable which shows the dropped cards inbox of the owner of the blog where the widget is installed on. It’s still in beta, but it is set up and working on my blog. I’ll be adding more options to customize in the next few weeks.
If you want to take a look at it: http://www.work-at-home-wealth.com/blog/?view=plink&id=14

That widget is awesome!

We definitely need an article about that!
And what about Lee Doyle and his U Drop-I Follow widget.
The Entrecard blog definitely needs to be talking about stuff like this and lots of other stuff too.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for dropping by and for your comment. I’m glad you liked it. I’ll be back on this project as soon as I move my site to another host. That would be great if you can add to the inbox feed the images which relate to every site. That could make the widget more visually appealing IMHO.

This is not me applying to be one of the writers, this is just me congratulating Graham on a great idea. All these different writers could just make this the place to be. I am looking forward to seeing what the new guys can come up with.

Thanks Scott, I will be improving the widget in the next weeks. I’m also open to suggestions in case somebody comes up with a new function to add to it.

I’d be interested in blogging, just sent a message.

Thanks! You (and everyone) are welcome to add it on your site. As I’m writing this, I’m in the middle of the process of moving the site to another host and migrating the blog to Wordpress, so while the new DNS propagates the site could not be available for some parts of the world but as everithing goes back to normal you should find the entrecard widget at: http://www.work-at-home-wealth.com/blog.asp

[...] I’m going to do it anyway. Entrecard has decided to “hire” regular bloggers to contribute to their blog. This is probably a perfect opportunity for any blogger to try their hand at guest posting (if they [...]
