Improvements and Changes

Hi Entrecarders!
Thank you for your patience. The Entrecard team is excited to announce several new updates to Entrecard. We have read your feedback and hope that these changes will answer some of the concerns you may have had. These changes include:
1) Login/Logout Problem
We have received reports from a handful of users regarding problems with logging in and logging out of Entrecard. Please note that this bug has been fixed.
2) Auto-Approving Advertising Requests
For your convenience, we have added the option to automatically accept all advertising requests. You can enable this option by clicking the checkbox for “Accept all Entrecard ads automatically” under “Advert settings” in your dashboard. This way, your Entrecard account will run on “cruise control” and you will be able to earn credits without the hassle of accepting and declining every single advertising request. Because we carefully screen each and every blog that joins our network, you can be assured that the ads served on your widget are family oriented.
3) Advertising Directory
There have been a number of concerns about blogs in our directory that do not have a widget. We have completely cleaned out our advertising directory and only blogs with the Entrecard widget are listed. This will ensure that your hard-earned advertising credits do not go to waste. You will no longer have to worry about spending credits on a blog that does not have a widget.

Glad to hear that the directory is being cleaned up. I hope this applies to favorites as well, when a favorite site is delisted with EC, that it is automatically removed from the favorites list.

Hey there. Good to see the directory being cleaned out. I do have a slight problem though. What about those blogs that you request an advertisement yet they do not accept nor decline your request? Those credits seem to be in limbo forever. I believe that a time limit should be implemented. Something along the lines of a week or two, where if the ad is not approved or declined, the credits are returned to the buyer. Just a thought. Later!

Glad that you’ve purged the directory of non-widget blogs!
You’ve not removed them from the system itself, though: at least, not my two today.com ones. When are y’all planning on getting that done?
Also, something else you might want to consider doing sooner rather than later: purging those blogs that haven’t been updated in over 3 months (or whatever the limit is supposed to be). Still quite a few of those around, unfortunately.

I’m loving you guys already. These were the simple things that needed to be done ages ago but for some reason was ignored in favour of additional bells and whistles which never worked properly either.

Excellent on the finally really logging out part – that was driving me crazy.
I, too, would love to know if and when a surf bar compatible to Firefox 3.5.2 is coming our way? It was SO convenient, and I really, really miss it.
Hopefully that is the project you all are working on now?

Great that the login bug has been fixed for others, but today…

I wonder if this new update caused things to be changed in our dashboard? The box was previously checked in my dashboard that I had to approve paid ads. Suddenly it was brought to my attention that a paid ad was running on my blog that had NOT been approved by me. I went and checked the dashboard and sure enough it WAS unchecked and this paid ad was running on my blog. I thought the paid ads were out the door, looks like I might be instead.

So all of yesterday’s drops vanished – after EntreCard FINALLY came on line. What the heck is going on?
And how come paid ads have reared their ugly head again after being told explicitly that they were gone forever.?
I love EntreCard, it makes it easy to visit friends and to exchange traffic. But what is going on with the system?
