Hello Entrecarders!
Written on July 17th, 2009 by Andrew
Hi everyone,
I would like to write on behalf of ZipRunner, Inc. to express our excitement about the future of Entrecard. As an angel investor, I saw the potential in Entrecard a couple years ago. I immediately recognized its uniqueness, its networking capabilities and its diverse user base, and became a board member of Entrecard when the company was 6 months old. I truly believe Entrecard is the best networking platform for the blogging community and will continue to be a lead provider of blogging services for years to come.
Before I can begin to discuss the future of Entrecard, I would like to first express our gratitude to Graham Langdon, Founder of Entrecard. Graham has done an excellent job managing Entrecard to where it is today. It will be our duty to continue keeping users posted about changes to Entrecard and to continue providing Entrecard users with new services that will increase traffic to blogs.
I understand that there are many questions about the recent acquisition of Entrecard by ZipRunner. ZipRunner is an investment company with many years of experience with Internet companies. We intend to have a smooth transition and will continue to provide essential services such as dropping cards, earning credits and allowing bloggers to network. We believe that these services are what make Entrecard special. In addition, Entrecard will continue to have Richard Clark (phirate), Entrecard’s founding developer, on its management team.
Furthermore, ZipRunner is prepared to take Entrecard to the next level. We have carefully read blog comments and the help desk to gain a better understanding of users’ concerns. We value our Entrecard users and we intend to address your comments and to provide you with the best blogging service possible.
In closing, I would like to reiterate that ZipRunner is looking forward to working with Entrecard users and improving Entrecard services. I only ask that you give us a chance and your patience. Look for great things to follow in the coming weeks, and months.

I personally welcome the foregoing first statement of the new Entrecard CEO Mr. Andrew Te. I can feel that Entrecard as a corporation has a listening management style.
I’m particularly impressed with Mr. Te’s assurance that Entrecard will continue to provide essential services such as dropping cards, earning credits and allowing bloggers to network. Too, it was stated that the new management is looking forward to working with Entrecard users and improving Entrecard services.
With this, I wish all the best to the new management and as a user, am giving them my 101% support, for the betterment of the entire Entrecard community.

How polite… and listening to the feedback (and gripes) from users – what a novel idea!
Live long and prosper.

Welcome Andrew , best wishes for your new venture here at Entrecard.

A huge welcome to you, if you can do something to put Entrecard back on it’s feet and run it as a business and not a personal toy as one did. And also build and run it fair to all!
Can’t understand how you made one big call that did bring Entrecard to it’s knees in the first place, but yet, I am very happy to see Phirate staying on board with Entrecard.
Good luck with it and welcome to you!

Welcome and look forward to see what you have in store for Entrecard.
It is also good to know that Phirate will be on board for at least the time being. He seems very knowledgeable regarding the back end implementation and will be invaluable in preserving a smooth transition.

Hey there. Welcome and I’m glad to see this statement. I strongly believe that communication is what is going to make this acquisition a success. Not to diminish anything that Graham did, but let’s be honest, Entrecard lost a lot of members because member’s questions and concerns were poorly managed. I’m hoping that Ziprunner will definitely improve in that category.

Hello Mr. Te and everyone at ZipRunner! As you say you’ve been reading blog comments I’m sure you know that Entrecard’s history hasn’t been the smoothest recently. I’m sure we will all be grateful to be listened to. I look forward to seeing what you can do with EC. Good luck!

Welcome and lots of good luck with Entrecard.
We’re a nice bunch of bloggers and when treated well we’re nice to work with.
We’ve had a rough time, because we were not valued for the work we do.
I hope that the old blogs will be removed soon, and that surfing around will be less boring. I’m seeing the same advert now for days!
Let’s raises virutal glasses on the new future and cooperation.
Cheers!

Hi,
First off Welcome to EC!
Maybe now our thoughts and questions and concerns
( A blog entry I wrote a couple weeks ago ):
http://life-accordingtochristopher.blogspot.com/2009/07/entre-stupidity-here-we-go-again.html
will finally be answered by this new company taking over EC…
I hope also, this new company will expand… And make a tool bar for other browsers, so people like me that really dont care for Firefox will be able to use IE or FF as their choice of doing drops and maybe, and just MAYBE venture out into other browsers in the future. I think thats where EC messed up was they only made the toolbar for Firefox. Well, I have lots of issues with Firefox… So maybe this company has the resources to come out with a toolbar for IE, and FF and maybe venture out into other browsers?
Anyways, Welcome….. I wish the best in turning this place back around and heading it in the right direction and reverse all the negativity and bring back the ones that left

Welcome. We hope that your venture with entrecard will be successful. Good luck!
July 20th, 2009 at 10:26 am
I was glad to see this post. Many of us have been a little worried about who ziprunner is and what the future of EC will be. I think that most of us agree that EC is the best of its kind out there, and even those that have issues with certain aspects admit that the benefits outweigh any problems. I’m looking forward to what the future will bring for EC and its members!

Just a couple of points : -
1) We all understand that finance is important. But Entrecard is (or was) primarily a bloggers’ network. So if you want paid ads, create a “paid ads” widget separate from the blogger’s widget and grant the right to reject both that paid ad widget and/or individual paid ads. The trouble a few months back was caused partly because blogger’s ads were being overlaid by paid ads. Even now the network seems to be swamped by the same few paid ads repeating all the time. But if you are flexible you might be pleasantly surprised how many paid ads you can run.
2) Over the last few months the arrogance, dismissiveness and downright rudeness displayed by Entrecard staffers has been a disgrace. Their siege mentality has lost the network many great bloggers and whilst being touchy under pressure is understandable, any repeat performance while introducing new initiatives will destroy your acquisition. Please stop talking about “compliance” and “unsuitability” and start taking the bloggers with you.

okey thanks…hope my problem to have access my account will have and to be answer soon by the new admin.
WELCOME to the NEW ADMIN!.and THANKS to GRAHAM!.

Nice introduction and I think it will be worth our time to wait and see how things will change for the better or whatever. I didn’t like the paid ads and was confused by the lack of communications when one would email Entrecard help center to get new info on this. However I do believe that Graham has done a great job with Entrecard when I first started blogging I soon came to realize that Entrecard could really help out a a new blogger with bringing traffic to your blog. Thanks and good luck
