New features: Inbox, News Feed, Drop Rank. They’re here!!

Entrecard Members are greeted today with three great new features that will shock and amaze.
UPGRADED DASHBOARD
The first is an upgraded dashboard, displaying the most recent 15 cards dropped in your Inbox.
The cards pop up and maximize in size when you scroll over it:
NEWS FEED
The next feature is a News Feed, heres a snapshot as seen on your dash:
Keep in touch with what your favorite bloggers are saying in the forum, selling in the shop, adding favorites, updating their card, who they’re buying ads on, and more!
DROP RANK
On your profile, you will now find a “drop rank” which profiles your dropping behavior in a fun and casual way:
Take some time to get acquainted with all the new features, and all your privacy settings now available on your dashboard. We want all our users to be aware of all the privacy and contact options available to them.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!!
The first 31 people to write blog posts about our these cool new features, and include all four images above, will receive 100 credits! Just write the post, include the images, and leave a comment/linkback right here on our blog, and you’ll be the proud new owner of 100 Credits.

I’m not impressed.
The new inbox is a nice visual gimmik +1 for that. But knowing the “drop rank” of someone is completely useless information to me. Also the news feed isn’t really interesting – what am I supposed to do with that info?
What about the promised changes to rankings and pricing structure? Those are the more important things you should working on IMHO.

Seriously my drop to dropped ratio is so bad, I was starting to lose hope in the system. Now at least I can get a better idea about if people will actually drop back.
Oh yeah, and also thanks for adding the clicks stats to the ad results block. Turns out I was throwing a LOT of credits away…

I think that most of the new features are a step in the right direction. The news feed though IMHO is just a distraction taking up valuable space on the page and doesn’t give any useful information.

I agree, fluff and garbage. The dropped card and enlarge thing is annoying, drop rank is stupid, and I could care less about the newsfeed.
Make the service more stable and not have so many outages. Plan for more users and traffic. Fix the pricing structure. Provide more reasons for people to network and ways not found @ mybloglog and blogcatalog. Fix the shoddy forum system.
Do something new and innovative for god sakes, like create a new wide widget to display your recommendations on your “about” page of your blog maybe?
Enhance the messaging system to at least save what you wrote someone in either a reply-to mode or “saved messages” folder.
How about making a widget with 2,3,or 4 spots?? Why not, blog are setup now for 2, 4, or 6 125×125 ads – why is entrecard only 1??? Of course only one would accept a card drop per person per day, you’d just be able to accept more than one advert per day according to how big your widget was. That would stir things up big-time around here.
Show me more stuff on a profile (like the last 5 posts of their feed maybe)? Show me their twitter, or myspace, of Yahoo, or google, or ICQ, or Facebook, or mybloglog, or blogcatalog, or flickr, or other ID’s.
Here’s a REAL good one, how about actually allowing people to use ONE entrecard account with multiple web sites?? We ALL have multiple sites practically, and it’s maddenning using 2 different email accounts and logins to manage 2, or 3+ entrecard accounts. All the other blog networking sites seem to take into account that you will have more than one web site or blog. Why the hell can’t I have 3 dashboards tied to one entrecard account?
No more fluff – be innovative, please. Do you eventually want YouTube or Facebook buyout FU type paper or not? Listen to your users……

Well, the drop rank can help you decide whether the person got their $450 entre credit price from the traffic they have, or from being a hyper card dropper… and help you decide whether you want to purchase that ad on their blog or not.

I personally love all the new features. Of course not just the ones to the dashboard, but the one last week where you can see how well your ads do on a particular site is very useful and in my opinion the best feature yet. I did mention this post in my latest post even though the post is mostly about thanking my best value by widget blogs.

Come on Graham – I know you’re reading these. There’s nothing that pisses off a blogger more than someone who filters out comments they think are negative. My comments were constructive criticism and you need to publish them.

I really like the News Feed that shows what your favs are up to but I would like it so people can disable people from seeing theirs. Also the new Drop Rank is nice same with the Drop Cards Menu.

Is there any way to auto-approve or set like on (automatic debit) fave advertisers?
It kind of sucks to have to continously come to my dashboard and keep approving the same advertisers over and over again.

I have to officially disagree that a news feed is “fluff” -the news feed significantly enhances the social network in so many ways.
It allows bloggers to spread themselves virally based on their content and site quality. If a lot of poeple like your blog, and start favoriting it and buying ads on it, the news feed will automatically promote you to everyone who has favorited them, people whom are much more likely to enjoy reading your blog and become regulars.

I’m using the favorite section since it was introduced. Sometimes, I’m removing some on my favorites because I’ve already advertise on their site. Does it also shown on the news feed? If it is, I will not remove another from my favorites.
Also, Is it possible that we can be aware of how many drops I did gave to person who advertise on my site?
